Reversing the Tao by Christopher M. Stone Pdf

This thesis was written to provide the reader with a firm understanding of the realities of the current DoD space deterrence concept, its shortcomings, and the threat that these shortcomings pose to the United States and its Allies if a more realistic, credible space deterrence concept is not created and deployed. To highlight these shortcomings, a review of deterrence theory from classical to modern writers were explored to compare and contrast with the DoD's present concept to highlight its lack of deterrence theory. In addition, it was highlighted through an analysis of the Chinese view of deterrence in space, space weapons and the United States, just how ineffective DoD space deterrence theory is and how the current National Security Space Strategy, the location of the DoD space deterrence concept, is more likely to give rise to a "space Pearl Harbor" than to prevent one. The United States must re-think its current posture in space and develop a tiered, tailor, triad of capabilities and concepts that credibly deter, or if necessary defeat an enemy attack on our nation's critical space infrastructure.

Systematics and the Economics of Culture by Victor Lux Tonn Pdf

Systematics presents a revolutionary, qualitative and rigorous endeavor (from elements to system space) in searching for the unifying understandings of all entities existing in the universe. In light of systematics, the economies of the world embedded in the labyrinth of technologies, politics, social conditions, and cultures are studied, with general models (i.e., the West and the East) presented and with focal points provided to establish solid foundations for predicting the possible catching-up of the United States by China in a finite time. For the readers of humanities, there are a few bonuses: a new frontier framework for studying philosophical systems and initially constructed systems of literature and history.

Meditation from Buddhist, Hindu, and Taoist Perspectives by Robert Altobello Pdf

Engages readers with its original philosophical and pragmatic analysis of traditional Asian religions, philosophy, meditation practice, and the supreme spiritual ideals associated with the Hindu, Buddhist, and Taoist traditions. The text boldly bridges the theory/practice distinction. A central underpinning rests on the assumption that meditation practice without theory is groundless and that theory without practice is useless. Identifies and analyzes common elements found across traditions in which the practice of meditation plays a central role in human development, and readers will find a wealth of detailed reflection on the relationship between spiritual growth and meditation practice from the Hindu, Buddhist, and Taoist perspectives. The Sociology of Philosophies by Randall Collins Pdf

Randall Collins traces the movement of philosophical thought in ancient Greece, China, Japan, India, the medieval Islamic and Jewish world, medieval Christendom, and modern Europe. What emerges from this history is a social theory of intellectual change, one that avoids both the reduction of ideas to the influences of society at large and the purely contingent local construction of meanings. Instead, Collins focuses on the social locations where sophisticated ideas are formed: the patterns of intellectual networks and their inner divisions and conflicts.
