Said the Prophet of God by Joel Blecher Pdf

Although scholars have long studied how Muslims authenticated and transmitted Muhammad’s sayings and practices (hadith), the story of how they interpreted and reinterpreted the meanings of hadith over the past millennium has yet to be told. Joel Blecher takes up this charge, illuminating the rich social and intellectual history of hadith commentary at three critical moments: classical Andalusia, medieval Egypt, and modern India. Weaving together tales of public debates, high court rivalries, and colonial politics with analyses of contemporary field notes and fine-grained arguments adorning the margins of manuscripts, Said the Prophet of God offers new avenues for the study of religion, history, anthropology, and law.

The Prophet of God by Riaan Engelbrecht Pdf

In the Old Testament, the prophet would guide the king, therefore the people, by speaking the will of God, and many times the will of God will include correction, judgment and warnings. Prophets were often ignored in the Old Testament, while even back in those days among the true prophets you found many speaking deceptions and lies. Today, nothing has changed, because God does not change (Hebrews 13:8). Prophets are still called to lead the corporate church by speaking and declaring the will, the purpose and the mandate of God. What the prophet utters may contain correction or judgment, or it may speak of encouragement, direction or wisdom. Prophets still speak to nations, or even to a multitude of nations, declaring the will of God not just unto the Church but unto secular leaders as to warn, to guide, to direct and to declare the heart and mind of God. Thus from the old to the new, nothing has changed in regard to the prophet. Ye the office is often misunderstood, and also shrouded in mystery, erroneous perceptions and terrible abuse.

Prophet Muhammad in The Bible by P.Zainul Abideen Pdf

Many religions came into existence while many are dead. Among existing religions Islam and Christianity occupy top positions. These religions are followed in countries around the world. These two religions have different ideologies but share some common faith. Christianity believes Jesus was born without male intervention this faith is also shared by Islam. Christianity believes before Christ many prophets of God appeared. They were given revelations by God, Islam too accepts this. Islam believes Jesus as the mighty messenger of God. Christianity believes in after life. They believe their life in earth should be according to God’s laws .This will decide their eternal life, people will be rewarded heaven or hell. Islam seriously stresses on after life. These are some faith common between Islam and Christianity. But in some faith Christianity and Islam differs. Basic Christian faith is “Jesus was born of God”. Basic faith of Islam is: Allah was not begotten, nor does he beget, he does not have female companions, nor does he have relatives. Islam severely condemns this. Jesus was not the son of God in literal sense. Abraham, Moses and Jesus were prophets of God. Islam says Jesus was not the son of God but he was a prophet of God. “Adam sinned by disobeying God as a result his descendants were born sinners”. This is the basic belief of Christianity. Islam believes Adam sinned by disobeying God, But his sin was not passed to his descendants; a new born child does not inherit sin. This is another faith where Christianity differs from Islam. As humans are born sinners it becomes essential to sacrifice. Christianity believes that Jesus sacrificed himself for the sins of mankind. Bible says Jesus was unwilling to be sacrificed. But he was captured by his enemies and punished. Jesus cries “My God My God why have you forsaken me”. It clearly contradicts Bible’s view of Jesus self-sacrifice. Islam too takes this stand. Even if Jesus self-sacrificed himself, it would only be atonement for his sins and not the sins of mankind, this is Islam stand. No country will punish a son for his father’s crime. When men are intelligent enough to stop such laws is it reasonable to believe God would give such a law? Is God less intelligent than Man? This logical question is raised by Islam. These are major differences between Christianity and Islam. Islam believes revelations were given to the prophets of God but were manipulated by men. Islam believes some words of God are still retained in the Bible. There are many verses in the Bible which prophesies the arrival of Prophet Muhammad. These prophecies are found in Old Testament and New Testament of the Bible. The goal of this book is to prove prophet Muhammad (saw) was prophesized in Bible and he was a prophet sent by God to all mankind. If Christians read this book with an open heart they would inevitably conclude that Prophet Muhammad (saw) was a messenger sent by God. We pray that you might be guided into the truth.

Heresy and the Formation of Medieval Islamic Orthodoxy by Ahmad Khan Pdf

Between the eighth and eleventh centuries, many defining features of classical Sunni Islam began to take shape. Among these was the formation of medieval Sunnism around the belief in the unimpeachable orthodoxy of four eponymous founders and their schools of law. In this original study, Ahmad Khan explores the history and cultural memory of one of these eponymous founders, Abū Ḥanīfa. Showing how Abū Ḥanīfa evolved from being the object of intense religious exclusion to a pillar of Sunni orthodoxy, Khan examines the concepts of orthodoxy and heresy, and outlines their changing meanings over the course of four centuries. He demonstrates that orthodoxy and heresy were neither fixed theological categories, nor pious fictions, but instead were impacted by everything from law and politics, to society and culture. This book illuminates the significant yet often neglected transformations in Islamic social, political and religious thought during this vibrant period.

Prophets in the Bible – What Things Did They Say? by Robert Wyeth Pdf

A prophet speaks the very words of God. It will be there to guide people, to help them develop and encourage them. But a false prophet speaks out of his own mind. A prophet is open minded and be willing to any of the people including kings and rulers and speak what God wants them to find, or do, or to work out. Many people do amazing things, the achievements of a mighty man who toils against the enemy and the opponent is defeated. Some people have a gift for magnificent things which stagger and persuade the crowds. Prophets declare the precise words given them by God. They do not have to do anything, but speak, what the Lord has given them to say.

I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. Upon whom to these characteristics of the awaited prophet apply? Upon Jesus or Muhammad (peace be upon them). This book examines these prophecies in a very logical and scientific method. The book hopes to analyse the references made and the description given for the awaited Prophet, with the goal to establish who that Prophet actually was.

Why Did Jesus Say, "Salvation is of the Jews"? by Donald Werner Pdf

This book is for Jews and Christians. Jesus said, "Salvation is of the Jews" (John 4:22), and in Revelation 14:12 Jesus tells us that we must 'keep the commandments of God' have the 'faith of Jesus'. The Jewish Jesus told us to keep his teachings, and he said unless we do we will never see eternal life. I will compare the Jewish faith and the Christian faith to see which one best complies with Jesus' teachings. It will then be evident to you that most Christians are not saved according to Jesus' criteria, but 'Biblical Jews' are. I know that's a bold statement. But Jesus said, if we don't keep his teachings, we are not saved. I always thought that salvation was of the Christian faith - but Jesus said 'Salvation is of the Jews', now I know what he meant, and Christians had better take note before Judgment Day. Also read about evangelism Jesus' style, Jesus' parables, saving grace, Mark of the Beast, Seal of God, synagogue of Satan, why the church today is Laodicea and much more.

I Don't Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist by Norman L. Geisler,Frank Turek Pdf

To some, the concept of having faith in a higher power or a set of religious beliefs is nonsensical. Indeed, many view religion in general, and Christianity in particular, as unfounded and unreasonable. Norman Geisler and Frank Turek argue, however, that Christianity is not only more reasonable than all other belief systems, but is indeed more rational than unbelief itself. With conviction and clear thinking, Geisler and Turek guide readers through some of the traditional, tested arguments for the existence of a creator God. They move into an examination of the source of morality and the reliability of the New Testament accounts concerning Jesus. The final section of the book deals with a detailed investigation of the claims of Christ. This volume will be an interesting read for those skeptical about Christianity, as well as a helpful resource for Christians seeking to articulate a more sophisticated defense of their faith.
