Learning SD-WAN with Cisco by Stuart Fordham Pdf

Explore the rise of SD-WAN with CISCO and transform your existing WAN into an agile, efficient, and cost-effective network. Learning SD-WAN with Cisco helps you understand the development of SD-WAN and its benefits to modern networks. This book starts with an exploration of the different components of SD-WAN, such as vBond for orchestration, vManage for management, vSmart for control, and the vEdge devices. From there, it moves on to building a network from the ground up using EVE-NG, focusing on how to install EVE-NG, get the required licenses via a SmartNET account, download the components, and begin to create your network by installing vManage. Once you have this foundation, you will create the organization and certificates, and look at local users as well as single- and multi-tenancy options and clustering. As you continue to build your network, you will dig down into the overlay protocols used in SD-WAN, and then deploy your controllers and edge devices, looking at zero-touch provisioning along the way. After building your network, you will configure and apply policies and templates to manage the control and data planes as well as VPNs, Internet access, security, and quality of service. The book also explores reporting and management using vManage, along with upgrading and troubleshooting the various components, using techniques from simple ping and trace route through to advanced techniques such as DTLS and TLOC troubleshooting and traffic simulation. After reading this book, you will have hands-on experience working with SD-WAN. You will understand how to deploy, configure, manage, and troubleshoot it. What You Will Learn Know what SD-WAN is, how it came about, and why we need it Understand troubleshooting and traffic simulation of DTLS and TLOC Monitor, report, and troubleshoot the SD-WAN environment Who This Book Is For Network professionals with experience in Linux and Cisco devices

Software Definded - Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) Services and their Implementation on an Open Source Linux Based Platform by Bogdan Iatco Pdf

Master's Thesis from the year 2020 in the subject Computer Science - Internet, New Technologies, grade: 110 cum laude, University of Rome "Tor Vergata", language: English, abstract: With this thesis work we are going to provide initially an overview about Software Defined- Wide are network technology, relying on vendors products and the MEF standard. Next we will implement a new Open Source SD-WAN solution, exploiting the new concepts of Network Slicing and Overlays. In our SD-WAN the different types of service are segmented through virtual independent Overlay networks, that abstract the underlying network. In so doing we want to facilitate the use of multiple WAN connections and the assignment of different QoS and security for different services. We start form an SDN solution that was extended to an SD-WAN which implements multiple Overlays to create End-to-End Slices among multiple sites. The work has focused on design the high-level open source SD-WAN architecture, design and implement the vCPE (Edge router) able to support ZTP (Zero Touch Provisioning), design and implement the SD-WAN Controller/Orchestrator that is able to control and program the vCPEs and deploy services. The services are based on L3 tunnels that interconnects multiple customer sites transporting traffic of a specific applications. The Controller was developed based on SDN and NFV principles and made it capable to automate and orchestrate e2e services giving to the users to control their sites. The SD-WAN solution is based completely on Linux platform and in the implementation we assume that there is an IaaS that provides the computing workloads. The final part of the work consists in implement an emulated geographical network (in Mininet) in which deploy and test the solution and related network service.

This book covers the theory, design and applications of computer networks, distributed computing and information systems. Networks of today are going through a rapid evolution, and there are many emerging areas of information networking and their applications. Heterogeneous networking supported by recent technological advances in low-power wireless communications along with silicon integration of various functionalities such as sensing, communications, intelligence and actuations is emerging as a critically important disruptive computer class based on a new platform, networking structure and interface that enable novel, low-cost and high-volume applications. Several of such applications have been difficult to realize because of many interconnections problems. To fulfill their large range of applications, different kinds of networks need to collaborate, and wired and next generation wireless systems should be integrated in order to develop high-performance computing solutions to problems arising from the complexities of these networks. The aim of the book “Advanced Information Networking and Applications” is to provide the latest research findings, innovative research results, methods and development techniques from both theoretical and practical perspectives related to the emerging areas of information networking and applications.

A FortiGate firewall is a comprehensive network security solution that provides firewall protection, intrusion prevention, antivirus and antimalware scanning, VPN connectivity, and other security features. FortiGate firewall is also a router. It offers real-time threat intelligence to help you stay one step ahead of cyber attackers. When a firewall executes packet filtering, it examines the packets of data, comparing it against filters, which consist of information used to identify malicious data. If a data packet meets the parameters of a threat as defined by a filter, then it is discarded and your network is protected. This book consists from the following parts: 1. Firewall Evaluation 2. Software Networks by Guy Pujolle Pdf

The goal of this book is to describe new concepts for Internet next generation. This architecture is based on virtual networking using Cloud and datacenters facilities. Main problems concern 1) the placement of virtual resources for opening a new network on the fly, and 2) the urbanisation of virtual resource implemented on physical network equipment. This architecture deals with mechanisms capable of controlling automatically the placement of all virtual resources within the physical network. In this book, we describe how to create and delete virtual networks on the fly. Indeed, the system is able to create any new network with any kind of resource (e.g., virtual switch, virtual routers, virtual LSRs, virtual optical path, virtual firewall, virtual SIP-based servers, virtual devices, virtual servers, virtual access points, and so on). We will show how this architecture is compatible with new advances in SDN (Software Defined Networking), new high-speed transport protocol like TRILL (Transparent Interconnection of Lots of Links) and LISP (Locator/Identifier Separation Protocol), NGN, IMS, Wi-Fi new generation, and 4G/5G networks. Finally, we introduce the Cloud of security and the virtualisation of secure elements (smartcard) that should definitely transform how to secure the Internet.
