Walking in the Spirit by Kenneth Berding Pdf

Walking in the Spirit is a journey into what the Bible teaches about life in the Holy Spirit. Author Kenneth Berding uses the apostle Paul and his words in Romans 8 to model what it looks like to live both empowered and set free by the Spirit. Written at an accessible level, Berding speaks to a wide audience as he seeks to connect readers to the life of the Spirit. His practical guide covers a variety of topics, showing readers how to set their minds on the things of the Spirit, put to death the deeds of the body, be led by the Spirit, know the fatherhood of God, and hope and pray in the Spirit. Berding applies the Bible to life through many of his own personal experiences, helping readers make connections to their own spiritual journeys. Discussion questions for each chapter facilitate personal reflection and small-group study.

God the Holy Spirit vs. The Sin Nature by R. B. Thieme, Jr. Pdf

God the Holy Spirit vs. The Sin Nature is a ceaseless inner conflict. Each Christian by his own volition determines who controls his life at any given moment. The sin nature is inherent at birth. As long as we live we retain this genetic distorter of our lives, with the result that we cannot fulfill the plan of God. Yet God’s marvelous plan can be fulfilled. Only the invisible ministry of God the Holy Spirit can execute the Christian way of life. This book tells the dramatic story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19. After a powerful spiritual victory, he flees in terror because of an empty threat against his life. The spiritual hero becomes totally ineffective. This Old Testament prophet vividly illustrates a principle that applies to every New Testament believer. There is a vast difference between living under the control of the sin nature and leading a life of spiritual dynamics under the control of the Holy Spirit.

Spirit Wars by Kris Vallotton Pdf

You know the battle is raging--but are you fighting the right enemy? Just as enemies fought Joshua in the Promised Land, and Nehemiah faced opposition as he rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem, our enemy will fight us as we approach the spiritual terrain God has promised us. Most Christians retreat at the first sign of conflict because they fail to recognize the true nature of the battle. But you can prevail in freedom and joy. Sharing his deeply personal story of demonic bondage, torment and ultimate deliverance, pastor and bestselling author Kris Vallotton turns the idea of spiritual warfare as we know it on its head. He reveals the diabolical lies and strategies of the enemy--attacks and traps so subtle and deceptive that we may find our souls and hearts imprisoned without even knowing it. No more! Now you can win the invisible battle against sin and the enemy. Victory is within your grasp. Will you take hold? "It is with great excitement that I recommend this book to you, knowing that fruit will increase until Jesus gets His full reward."--Bill Johnson, author, When Heaven Invades Earth and The Essential Guide to Healing, senior pastor, Bethel Church, Redding, California

Killing Sin by Aaron M. Renn,John Owen Pdf

Killing Sin is John Owen's Puritan classic Mortification of Sin updated for today. Owen tackles the age-old challenge for the Christian: how to put to death the power of sin over our lives. This is something that is impossible through man-centered self-help or self-denial. But with God all things are possible. Though we will never be completely free of sin while alive in this world, by putting our faith on Christ with an expectation of His help, the Holy Spirit will bring the His cross into our hearts with all its sin-killing power. Owen tells us why it is imperative for the Christian to be killing sin in his life, what it actually means to kill sin, why only a Christian can do it, why it is only possible through the power of the Holy Spirit, and how we can avail ourselves of the power of the Spirit to kill sin through gospel faith in the death and resurrection of Christ. Owen's original Mortification of Sin was written in 17th century English that is extremely difficult to understand. This Killing Sin translates Owen into contemporary English that is easy to read without dumbing it down so people today can read this very important book on a most critical topic.

Of the Mortification of Sin in Believers by John Owen Pdf

A series of addresses focusing mainly on Romans 8, this work gives a well-grounded view on the way of sin in the life of a believer. This aspect of Christianity is often neglected and most people in the faith just accept it with blindly duty. The doctrine has wide ramifications in our theologies as it makes it evident to us how sin works in our lives and whether it should have any kind of hold on us.

Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit by Francine Lewis Rn Bsn Pdf

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, the sin that no one talks about is a book born under the anointing and inspiration of the Holy spirit of God. While we walk in the Christian path and follow the footsteps of Christ, we sometimes lost our focus on who God really is. For God is a Spirit, and the people that worship him, should worship him in the Spirit and in truth, for he is truth. Sometimes the focus is lost on seeing God as a Spirit, and it amazes me how Christians give less reverence to the Spirit of God and also how easily a Christian can blaspheme the Holy spirit, whether consciously or unconsciously. At times the focus is placed upon a physical being, but god is not physical, he is a Spirit. It sheds light on how one can improve their relationship with God on a more intimate level. For having a relationship with God is the most desired of all relationship one should pursue or yearns after. This book enlightens one's understanding on the unforgiven sin of blasphemies against the Holy Spirit of God. It explains and expands what that sin is, how to avoid it and lets one knows if they had already committed such a sin, in which place there is not anything that can be done, for God is not slack concerning his word, whatsoever he speak shall come to pass. There is not one jot to be taken out of his word, his promises are yes and amen. This book also encourage Christians on how to grow in their Spiritual walk with God and man, moving from drinking the milk of the word, to eating the meat of the word. For milk is liquid and meat is solid, and remains longer in the body. The word of God have to become solid in our body, soul and spirit. As Christians, we are encouraged to walk circumspectly and uprightly before God, and to live lives that are pure and holy, for such is the desired plan of our God for us.

Exposing the Secrets of Sin by Abozos Abiodun Pdf

It is quite alarming and overwhelming the rate at which many, even the so-called Christians and non-Christians of this generation, are wallowing in sin in spite of one’s decision to let go of sin. In fact, all effort of prayer, fasting, and abstinence to keep away from sin seems not to be working. One thing, however, is that once one fails to understand the nature of sin—the working power of sin in one’s life—it will be very difficult to break from it. Hence, Exposing the Secrets of Sin is a book that has been written in-depth and inspired by the Holy Spirit to expose the secrets of sins and its effects on humans. This is because sin has become a yoke, sting, cankerworm, burden, and spirit that if one fails to understand its nature (activities and effects), one might remain in sin forever. This book is therefore God’s gift to you in all matter relating to sin, which has been eating deep into your soul. Why not take your time, read, digest, and apply the words of this book to your life and see yourself overcoming the power and spirit of sin in your life. Happy reading!

Sartre on Sin by Kate Kirkpatrick Pdf

Sartre on Sin: Between Being and Nothingness argues that Jean-Paul Sartre's early, anti-humanist philosophy is indebted to the Christian doctrine of original sin. On the standard reading, Sartre's most fundamental and attractive idea is freedom: he wished to demonstrate the existence of human freedom, and did so by connecting consciousness with nothingness. Focusing on Being and Nothingness, Kate Kirkpatrick demonstrates that Sartre's concept of nothingness (le néant) has a Christian genealogy which has been overlooked in philosophical and theological discussions of his work. Previous scholars have noted the resemblance between Sartre's and Augustine's ontologies: to name but one shared theme, both thinkers describe the human as the being through which nothingness enters the world. However, there has been no previous in-depth examination of this 'resemblance'. Using historical, exegetical, and conceptual methods, Kirkpatrick demonstrates that Sartre's intellectual formation prior to his discovery of phenomenology included theological elements-especially concerning the compatibility of freedom with sin and grace. After outlining the French Augustinianisms by which Sartre's account of the human as 'between being and nothingness' was informed, Kirkpatrick offers a close reading of Being and Nothingness which shows that the psychological, epistemological, and ethical consequences of Sartre's le néant closely resemble the consequences of its theological predecessor; and that his account of freedom can be read as an anti-theodicy. Sartre on Sin illustrates that Sartre' s insights are valuable resources for contemporary hamartiology.

Sin Forgiveness and Righteousness by Dr. Ashwin Drummond Pdf

The Present book delves into the aspects of moving away from God and making a full circle of coming back to Him and enjoying eternal life. In order to understand the gravity of sin, an attempt has been made to form an idea of the eternity, Holiness and Aseity of God. This obviously refers to the self-sufficiency and the non-dependability of the Great God. The Uncreated Creator God, is life and everything that exists is created by Him and is dependent on Him. He is also the epitome of Holiness. Once we understand this great aspect of the Great Uncreated Creator God, can we understand how abhorrent sin is to the Most Holy and how sin comes between God and Human Beings. The great efforts made on the part of God to reconcile man to this abhorrent situation through the forgiveness of sin through the death of His son Jesus Christ has been explained in layman’s language. Finally, how we are made right with God with the imputed righteousness of Jesus has been touched upon for a finer understanding of the matter. Once reconciled with God we have the golden opportunity to become once again immortal and spend the rest of our life with our lord in eternity.
