Splitting by Bill Eddy,Randi Kreger Pdf

This highly anticipated second edition of Splitting includes new chapters on abuse, alienation, and false allegations; as well as information about the four types of domestic violence, protective orders, and child custody disputes. Are you divorcing someone who’s making the process as difficult as possible? Are they sending you nasty emails, falsifying the truth, putting your children in the middle, abusing you, or abusing the system? Are they “persuasive blamers,” manipulating and fooling court personnel to get them on their side? If so, you need this book. For more than ten years, Splitting has served as the ultimate guide for people divorcing a high conflict person, one who often has borderline or narcissistic (or even antisocial) personality disorder. Among other things, it has saved readers thousands of dollars, helped them keep custody of their children, and effectively guided them through a difficult legal and emotional process. Written by a family law attorney and therapist, and the author of Stop Walking on Eggshells, Splitting is an essential legal and psychological guide for anyone divorcing a persuasive blamer: someone who suffers from borderline personality disorder (BPD), narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), and/or antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). This second edition includes new information about antisocial personalities; expanded information about domestic violence, child abuse, alienation, and false allegations; how to approach protective orders and deal with child custody disputes; and a new chapter on how to successfully present your case to decision makers. Turn to this guide to help you: Predict what your spouse may do or say in court Take control of your case with assertiveness and strategic thinking Choose a lawyer who understands your case Learn how e-mails and social networking can be used against you If you need help navigating a high-conflict divorce from a manipulative spouse, this book includes all of the critical information you need to work through the process of divorce in an emotionally balanced, productive way.

Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting by Zhebo Chen,Huyen N. Dinh,Eric Miller Pdf

This book outlines many of the techniques involved in materials development and characterization for photoelectrochemical (PEC) – for example, proper metrics for describing material performance, how to assemble testing cells and prepare materials for assessment of their properties, and how to perform the experimental measurements needed to achieve reliable results towards better scientific understanding. For each technique, proper procedure, benefits, limitations, and data interpretation are discussed. Consolidating this information in a short, accessible, and easy to read reference guide will allow researchers to more rapidly immerse themselves into PEC research and also better compare their results against those of other researchers to better advance materials development. This book serves as a “how-to” guide for researchers engaged in or interested in engaging in the field of photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting. PEC water splitting is a rapidly growing field of research in which the goal is to develop materials which can absorb the energy from sunlight to drive electrochemical hydrogen production from the splitting of water. The substantial complexity in the scientific understanding and experimental protocols needed to sufficiently pursue accurate and reliable materials development means that a large need exists to consolidate and standardize the most common methods utilized by researchers in this field.

Longlisted for the 2018 Scotiabank Giller Prize Shortlisted for the 2019 Amazon First Novel Award Shortlisted for the 2019 Kobo Emerging Writer Prize Winner of the 2019 Indigenous Voices Award for Published Prose in English Winner of the 2018 Alcuin Society Awards for Excellence in Book Design – Prose Fiction Longlisted for the 2019 Sunburst Award From the internationally acclaimed Inuit throat singer who has dazzled and enthralled the world with music it had never heard before, a fierce, tender, heartbreaking story unlike anything you've ever read. Fact can be as strange as fiction. It can also be as dark, as violent, as rapturous. In the end, there may be no difference between them. A girl grows up in Nunavut in the 1970s. She knows joy, and friendship, and parents' love. She knows boredom, and listlessness, and bullying. She knows the tedium of the everyday world, and the raw, amoral power of the ice and sky, the seductive energy of the animal world. She knows the ravages of alcohol, and violence at the hands of those she should be able to trust. She sees the spirits that surround her, and the immense power that dwarfs all of us. When she becomes pregnant, she must navigate all this. Veering back and forth between the grittiest features of a small arctic town, the electrifying proximity of the world of animals, and ravishing world of myth, Tanya Tagaq explores a world where the distinctions between good and evil, animal and human, victim and transgressor, real and imagined lose their meaning, but the guiding power of love remains. Haunting, brooding, exhilarating, and tender all at once, Tagaq moves effortlessly between fiction and memoir, myth and reality, poetry and prose, and conjures a world and a heroine readers will never forget.

Splitting Theorems for Certain Equivariant Spectra by L. Gaunce Lewis Pdf

Let $G$ be a compact Lie group, $\Pi$ be a normal subgroup of $G$, $\mathcal G=G/\Pi$, $X$ be a $\mathcal G$-space and $Y$ be a $G$-space. There are a number of results in the literature giving a direct sum decomposition of the group $[\Sigma^\infty X,\Sigma^\infty Y]_G$ of equivariant stable homotopy classes of maps from $X$ to $Y$. Here, these results are extended to a decomposition of the group $[B,C]_G$ of equivariant stable homotopy classes of maps from an arbitrary finite $\mathcal G$-CW sptrum $B$ to any $G$-spectrum $C$ carrying a geometric splitting (a new type of structure introduced here). Any naive $G$-spectrum, and any spectrum derived from such by a change of universe functor, carries a geometric splitting. Our decomposition of $[B,C]_G$ is a consequence of the fact that, if $C$ is geometrically split and $(\mathfrak F',\mathfrak F)$ is any reasonable pair of families of subgroups of $G$, then there is a splitting of the cofibre sequence $(E\mathfrak F_+ \wedge C)^\Pi \longrightarrow (E\mathfrak F'_+ \wedge C)^\Pi \longrightarrow (E(\mathfrak F', \mathfrak F) \wedge C)^\Pi$ constructed from the universal spaces for the families. Both the decomposition of the group $[B,C]_G$ and the splitting of the cofibre sequence are proven here not just for complete $G$-universes, but for arbitrary $G$-universes. Various technical results about incomplete $G$-universes that should be of independent interest are also included in this paper. These include versions of the Adams and Wirthmuller isomorphisms for incomplete universes. Also included is a vanishing theorem for the fixed-point spectrum $(E(\mathfrak F',\mathfrak F) \wedge C)^\Pi$ which gives computational force to the intuition that what really matters about a $G$-universe $U$ is which orbits $G/H$ embed as $G$-spaces in $U$.

Splitting Methods for Partial Differential Equations with Rough Solutions by Helge Holden,Kenneth H. Karlsen,Knut-Andreas Lie Pdf

Operator splitting (or the fractional steps method) is a very common tool to analyze nonlinear partial differential equations both numerically and analytically. By applying operator splitting to a complicated model one can often split it into simpler problems that can be analyzed separately. In this book one studies operator splitting for a family of nonlinear evolution equations, including hyperbolic conservation laws and degenerate convection-diffusion equations. Common for these equations is the prevalence of rough, or non-smooth, solutions, e.g., shocks. Rigorous analysis is presented, showing that both semi-discrete and fully discrete splitting methods converge. For conservation laws, sharp error estimates are provided and for convection-diffusion equations one discusses a priori and a posteriori correction of entropy errors introduced by the splitting. Numerical methods include finite difference and finite volume methods as well as front tracking. The theory is illustrated by numerous examples. There is a dedicated Web page that provides MATLABR codes for many of the examples. The book is suitable for graduate students and researchers in pure and applied mathematics, physics, and engineering.

Splitting the Heart by Janet Marie Rogers Pdf

A powerful debut by Indigenous performance poet and spoken word artist, Janet Marie Rogers, Splitting the Heart throbs with the vitality of a Native drum and wails with a warrior's wisdom. Both Mohawk warrior and west coast woman, Roger's poems speak of personal and cultural identity, the trials of her people, loss and death - balanced by exquisite love poems, transcendent in their earthiness. She addresses the limitations of written history, the illusion of borders and the abuses suffered by the Native peoples, even those self-inflicted. Created as spoken word performance pieces, these poems more than hold their own when committed to print and come alive in an accompanying audio CD. Janet Marie Rogers is a multi-media artist with a way with words and a great deal to say on matters of deep importance. Splitting the Heart is a landmark volume of Canadian poetry. It's time has come! A Mohawk writer from the Six Nations territory in southern Ontario, Janet Marie Rogers was born in Vancouver and now lives in Victoria, B.C. Originally a visual artist, Rogers later channeled her creative energy into writing, exploring poetry, drama, fiction and fantasy. She is known as a dynamic spoken word artist and performer. Splitting the Heart is her first book.
