A life cycle decision framework of China offshore wind turbines with ANP-Intuitionistic fuzzy TOPSIS method by Jiaxuan Zhou,Liming Wang,Fangyi Li,Chunli Ge,Jianfeng Li,Yitong Wang,Lin Kong,Jing Guo Pdf

In China, offshore wind energy is a popular source of green energy. Selecting offshore wind turbine design schemes is a decision problem based on multiple criteria. However, the selection is hardly made from the point of view of the life cycle due to the complex association of evaluation criteria, especially in the conceptual design stage. To solve this problem, a new multi-criteria decision-making framework for selecting the life cycle design scheme of offshore wind turbines is designed. The design information of the life cycle process of these turbines is expressed using Function-Structure-Material-Process-Transportation model in this framework. The life cycle evaluation index system of offshore wind turbines was established and mapped with this model to carry out rapid evaluation of various schemes. In light of this, an intuitive fuzzy Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method based on analytic network process (ANP) was proposed to process fuzzy decision information and establish criteria correlation. Finally, a case study was conducted, and sensitivity and comparative analyses were carried out. The proposed method can effectively select the optimal scheme from six different design schemes for the life cycle of offshore wind turbines.

Innovative Structural Materials by Teruo Kishi Pdf

This book is devoted to innovative structural materials for multi-materialization. It is based on results of a 10-year national project, The Innovative Structural Materials Research and Development Project, which was carried out in Japan, aimed at reducing the weight of materials (steel, aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, titanium alloys, thermoplastic CFRP, carbon fiber) and components used in transportation equipment such as automobiles. In this project, collaborative research in a total of nine fields including materials, joining, and structural designing was also carried out in order to realize multi-materials. This book is compiled with the aim of handing down the technical and academic results obtained through these research and development activities to the next generation of researchers and students. This book enables material engineers and researchers in the field of materials related to transportation equipment, graduate students in various technical fields, and engineers and researchers belonging to material users to grasp the full picture of material development and multi-materials technologies. For the understanding of engineers and researchers who will work on multi-materials, this book explains the current state of technology and science in each field and explains the innovative results obtained by research in each field.

Construction Materials by Manuel Bustillo Revuelta Pdf

Construction Materials is a comprehensive textbook covering all raw materials and products related to the construction processes, and not only those applied to building structures. The book is organized to help readers achieve competent knowledge about construction materials. At the beginning of the book the author offers the general concepts, definitions, and standards adopted worldwide for these materials to be used along the book. The central part of the text covers the primary construction materials required to manufacture concrete and mortars, the most relevant construction materials in the last century. Expressly, concrete and mortar are treated in detail in dedicated chapters per component. In addition, the author addresses other relevant materials in construction such as ceramic materials, metals and alloys, bituminous materials, and geosynthetic materials. Finally, since the construction industry is one of the largest single waste producing sector in the world, the last chapter outlines the main types and characteristics of construction and demolition waste (e.g. recycled aggregates). The book appeals to students but also professionals interested in construction materials and construction and civil engineering.

Water Transport in Brick, Stone and Concrete by Christopher Hall,William D. Hoff Pdf

This book provides a unified description of transport processes involving saturated and unsaturated flow in inorganic building materials and structures. It emphasizes fundamental physics and materials science, mathematical description, and experimental measurement as a basis for engineering design and construction practice. Water Transport in Brick, Stone and Concrete brings together in a unified manner current information and guidance on a complex subject. Durability of much of the built infrastructure depends on how water reacts with the construction material concerned, yet the underlying science of deterioration processes is not yet well understood. This book, by the two leading researchers in the field, will provide a central point of reference for the future. The second edition includes many references to new publications and gives new analyses of important topics in water transport, notably on the evaporation-driven moisture dynamics of built structures.
