Suggestive Outline Bible Studies and Bible Readings (Classic Reprint) by John H. Elliott Pdf

Excerpt from Suggestive Outline Bible Studies and Bible Readings The work of the present volume was undertaken by the editor in response to the earnestly expressed desire of many with whom he has had sweet fellowship in the truth, who wished to have access to many of the readings in his posses sion. Furthermore, the desire seemed to be general for a book which should take in a larger scope of truth than a former volume of similar character, touching at least on all of the principal points that should be used in testimony for the Master. The careful topical arrangement and analytical index, which are features of this work, will commend the book to Bible students, and will, we trust, meet a long and widely felt want. If it results in a fuller and deeper study of those precious portions of the Word which are too often neglected, it will have met the purpose and desire of the one who has been greatly blessed and instructed in its collection and arrangement. Thanks are due for the special favors so kindly and readily granted by many honored teachers of the Word of God, to whom we are indebted for the larger part of the valuable matter which appears in these pages. Outline Studies in the New Testament for Bible Teachers (Classic Reprint) by Jesse Lyman Hurlbut Pdf

Excerpt from Outline Studies in the New Testament for Bible Teachers Scriptures finds an abundant reward. There is need in our age of searchers in the Bible, who shall bring out of its treasure-house things new and old. In the Old Bible the most important themes are those which gather around the God-man, Jesus Christ. His coming to earth was the culmination Of all prophecy, the focus of all history, and the center of all doctrine; and the church which he founded has been for nineteen centuries the inspiration Of the world's progress. There are two subjects in the New Testament with which everv follower of Christ should be thoroughly acquainted, and they are its two most prominent themes: the life of Christ on earth, and the growth of the early church. In the life of Christ he should know the order of the leading events; he should grasp its principles, and should enter into its Spirit. Only as we apprehend Christ can we comprehend the truths taught. And inspired by Christ. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. How to Study and Teach the Bible (Classic Reprint) by S. N. Vass Pdf

Excerpt from How to Study and Teach the Bible My apology for writing this book is the special request from Dr. A. M. Townsend and the Sunday School Publishing Board, and also because I have waited ample time before daring to put in print the methods by which I have studied the Bible for my own benefit for a number of years. The methods here suggested in this book contain the secret of my being able to lecture on the entire Bible without the use of notes. I re gard it as peculiarly fitting that my own tried method of lecturing and teaching should be given in this Teacher Training Book, and that I have not put myself for ward, but have been requested by our Board to do this. The controlling reason why I have not written before was the fact that my Lord and Master wrote no books, pre ferring to personally teach a small group of men. There is just one desire I have, and that is that God will be glorified and my own peo ple helped by this humble effort. Outline Studies in Christian Doctrine by George P. Pardington Pdf

Outline Studies in Christian Doctrine has been a primer for many thousands of Bible school students who, as missionaries, ministers and lay Christians, have carried its teaching to every part of our world. George P. Pardington, son of a Methodist minister, had the advantage of a classical education (Drew University), earning his doctorate in 1898 from New York University. Early drawn to A.B. Simpson and his "Friday meetings" in New York City, Pardington devoted most of his professional life to teaching at Simpson's Missionary Training Institue—now Nyack (New York) College. Severely handicapped as the result of a merciless beating at age 10 by his schoolteacher, Pardington did not let physical suffering suppress his victorious spirit or his keen sense of humor. He regaled his students with his wit and motivated them by the warmth of his unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ and the Scriptures. Published posthumously following the author's untimely death in 1915 at age 49, has been in continuous print for nearly three-quarters of a century. The chapters of this book, prepared personally by the author just prior to his death, distill the essense of his classroom teaching.
