A Defence of the Bible by Gary J. Baxter Pdf

Presenting a clear and compelling historical and scientific support for the Bible's reliability, A Defence of the Bible brings together wide-ranging evidence and equips Christians with ready information to answer critics. Now in its second edition, A Defence of the Bible answers the common arguments used against Christianity and the Bible, including detailed responses to four major misconceptions: That Christianity is "just another religion" That science through the Theory of Evolution can explain our existence without the need for God That the Bible is merely a collection of ancient myths and is full of mistakes That Jesus Christ, if he ever existed, was merely a good man and was not God. A Defence of the Bible is published in large-format paperback, consisting of 182 full color pages with 185 images and 565 footnotes. Comments on the first edition: I just wanted to write you a quick note to say that I have just finished reading your book. It was absolutely incredible! I am sure I will refer to it again and again. I am especially excited about sharing it with one of my work colleagues. He is very interested in biblical evidence. Your book has come at just the right time and I do not believe in 'coincidences.' This has God's fingerprints all over it! Thanks so much again Gary. You may never know (this side of heaven) what kind of eternal impact your research and teaching has had on people. I realize that you give all of the credit and glory to Christ, but I truly believe that (name of colleague) and several other seekers of the Truth will still be thanking you 10,000 years from now for the role you played in their journey toward_Christ. Randy McFarland, Indiana, USA Gary, thank you so much for the book. It is explicitly well researched, meticulously documented with colour pictures, pithy (no waffle), interesting and easy to understand. Bob McGregor-Skinner, NSW, Australia Before I read "A Defence of the Bible," I already believed that the Bible was the true and accurate Word of God, but I also knew that I couldn't completely persuade an unbeliever of that fact. I dreaded the thought of being challenged - I simply couldn't produce any reliable outside evidence. Studying "A Defence of the Bible" changed the situation entirely. Dr Baxter has made the material in this book both meaningful and memorable, presenting it in a clear and powerful way. As I read chapter after chapter of real, irrefutable evidence, God used this book not only to strengthen my own faith but also to prepare me to share that faith with others. I'm praying that He will use it to bless many others. Sarah Tesch, Victoria, Australi As an evangelist, I have encouraged many people to read this book and to utilise it as a resource to answer the hard questions many people put to them. A new Christian, whom I showed this book to last night, was thrilled when he saw it and began telling me how it would help him and assist in his witness to unbelieving friends and family. James Hood - Evangelist, USA Thank you so very much for this wonderful book! We are very pleased to show it to anyone who visits our home and appreciates the research and hard work it entailed to complete such a work. Virg and I leave it on our coffee table so we can read it anytime and discuss all the fascinating facts. It's quite a testimony to everyone about our Lord and His word, our Bible. Susan Jacobelli, Toronto, Canada You are a blessing and I appreciate how God is using your passion for Him to help educate and support other Christians. It is becoming more and more important to put into the hands of believers the answers to some of the questions that are being asked about creation, Jesus and religions. Thank you for what you have done in putting together your book. Steven Maldoff, Pastor, Murray River Baptist Church, Australia

Old Believers by Irina Paert Pdf

Since the late 1960s, American literature has been revitalised by the work of writers such as Toni Morrison, Sherman Alexie, Sandra Cisneros and Maxine Hong Kingston. An introduction to the study of ethnic American fictions organised into four sections, each written by a specialist in the fields of African American, Asian American, Chicano/a and native American literature. Writers are discussed in their cultural/political contexts and literary traditions (rather than as exceptions or as individuals, or on a generic basis). The book highlights common themes in ethnic writing as well as specificities, and has extensive suggestions for further reading as well as a critical introduction regarding the concept of 'ethnic writing'. No competing titles - there are no textbooks, no beginners' books nor any systematised combination of ethnic fictions such as this - only edited collections on each area.

Set for the Defense of the Gospel by Michael David McCubbins Pdf

The doctrine of the security of the believer certainly is important, but its importance can only be related to the believer. For that reason an individual must know that he has believed the Gospel of the Bible and not a false gospel. Why would we want to assure someone that his salvation is secure, if he is not truly saved? We must first rid him of any false hope before we can show him security in the true hope of the Biblical Gospel. As we look at our society around us, we are shocked at the godlessness that exists. Day by day our world is sliding downward into an abyss that has no light. God tells us to call men out of the darkness and into the light. Lately though, many churches have a message that leaves men in darkness, and even takes the darkness into the church to make them feel comfortable. We look at the large "evangelical" churches with thousands of members and we have to ask ourselves, with so many "Christians" in our nation, how have we had so little effect? Today, in addition to legalized abortion, we also have gender identity, homosexual marriage, and so many other godless things. Perhaps we are reaping the consequences of years of preaching a perverted gospel that has filled the pews without actually changing hearts. The solution that some offer makes "commitment" part of the gospel; but in so doing, they have created a different gospel, a gospel that changes the grace of God for the works of man.

Nova Sapiens: The Believers by David J A Cooper Pdf

Kasih is a robotic child drawn into a project to discover her secrets, and into a war that threatens all humanity, including her own. The murder of her family by Union troops in Bandung leaves the rebels’ robotics experts, Losana Maraiwai and Wei Dingxiang, with nobody to explain Kasih’s design but Kasih herself. She is not what anyone expected. In Darwin, Dingxiang suspects a magic trick may explain away her human-like artificial intelligence. In Beijing, Union politician Gabriel da Costa fears an extinction-level technology. Both sides of the war see a weapon that might win it. But Kasih is not strong, fast, or even particularly coordinated. She tries in vain to make sense of her father’s death, and of a world ready to dismantle her and repurpose her technology. And she cannot escape the Union’s plans. The rebels, including Kasih’s original rescuers, Paul Kanner and Debra Hall, are powerless in the face of a new army of robotic soldiers based on her design. The Union has created monsters, whose cold efficiency unleashes wholesale destruction. They threaten the world’s only chance for freedom, and perhaps its very survival. Neither Kasih nor Dingxiang understand why Kasih herself is not like them. Kasih must fight back against the fate others have determined for her, and for the world, and Dingxiang needs her ingenuity to solve the very conundrum that her existence represents. For Kasih to save her human friends, she must help them destroy her own kind.
