Healing in the Early Church by Andrew Daunton-Fear Pdf

This monograph presents the most comprehensive investigation yet made into the healing activity of the Early Church. In contrast to early skeptics like B. B. Warfield, the author is convinced there was a vigorous healing ministry in the centuries that followed the apostles, though it fluctuated somewhat and changed its mode. Exorcism is prominently attested throughout the period. The pre-Nicene Fathers recognized its great apologetic value as a dramatic demonstration of the superiority of Jesus Christ over pagan gods. Interest in healing miracles per se appears to have been particularly characteristic of the less educated members of the Church and those who were chaste in their devotion to the cause of Christ. Amongst these groups gifts of healing were found, becoming rare it seems by the mid-third century, but well attested again later in monastic circles. In the pre-Nicene period anointing with oil (in the name of Christ) was clearly an avenue of healing and, though mentioned comparatively rarely, may have been widespread as part of the regular ministry of local clergy to the sick. Baptismal healing, physical as well as spiritual, also took place. In the post-Nicene Church the shrines of the martyrs became a prominent locus of healing. Devotion to this cult may have been encouraged by Church Fathers as an acceptable alternative to magical practices. But evidence suggests syncretism did occur and martyr's relics could be invested with quasi-magical awe. Most Fathers were positive about the medical profession, seeing it as an avenue of God's work, and in the late fourth century one pioneered the hospital which then spread throughout the eastern Mediterranean. In an appendix to his work, the author sets down nine pointers from the healing activity of the Early Church, and his own experience, to assist those engaged in the healing ministry today.

Let Jesus Heal Your Hidden Wounds speaks to the individual who wants to be or already is involved in healing ministry. This is not another technique for doing healing, but a description of how the prayer minister cooperates with the Holy Spirit to bring healing and deliverance to people with hidden wounds. Each chapter includes several questions for use in a Bible study setting or to provoke further personal reflection. Those called to healing ministries will be taken to a new level of understanding and greater effectiveness from reading and studying this book. Receive Your Miracle Now by Bob Sawvelle Pdf

"I encourage anyone who wants to have a better grounding in the biblical, historical, and theological basis for believing in the continuation of the gifts-especially gift of healing-to make this a part of his or her library. This book is not milk; it is meat." —Randy Clark Jesus brought people into direct contact with the power and authority of God. Every healing and miracle revealed the glory of God and the reality of His kingdom. Jesus gave the disciples authority to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom, to heal the sick, and to deliver the oppressed. Receive Your Miracle Now presents a strong argument for the legitimacy of a Christian healing ministry in today's church. By studying key passages of Scripture in both the Old and New Testaments, examining the thread of healing throughout church history, and presenting a theological basis for healing and deliverance ministry, Bob Sawvelle demonstrates that through the healing gifts Jesus is still glorified, the sick are still healed, the oppressed are still freed, and God's kingdom advances in the earth, as it ever has.

Basic Training by Sandy Bell Pdf

In writing this manual, it is my hope to deliver a clear understanding of the "why" and "how" the church is to minister to those in need of healing. We need to have a better understanding of what healing may or may not look like! This manual was written for the purpose of training Jesus's disciples in the ministry of healing. Inside these pages are a toolbox that can be used anywhere at any time. We must understand as Christ's disciples on the frontlines of life, the key to all healing is not in anything we do, except to flow with what Jesus is doing through our relationship with him! His ways are not our ways. He will go to any length to accomplish what is needed to have a relationship with those He loves. Every healing will be according to the will and purposes of God. It is essential that the reader knows the One who is the source of all healing""physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. We become whole in body, soul, and spirit because it is God's desire and Jesus's sacrifice! El Roi knows us and our troubles! It was the great commission that Jesus commanded His disciples to preach the Gospel to all people! Whoever believes the good news and is baptized will be saved, and whoever does not believe will be condemned. Miracle signs will accompany those who believe. They will drive out demons, speak in tongues, protected from snakes, and from drinking anything poisonous. They will lay hands on the sick (diseased and dis-eased) and heal them. It is my prayer that you will be blessed with a deeper level of wisdom, knowledge, and revelation from God to minister wholeness to others as the Holy Spirit leads you in the ministry of healing.
