The Hand of God by Michael Reagan Pdf

The Hand of God combines inspiration for the mind and spirit by juxtaposing what Astronomy magazine has called “the most beautiful astrophotos ever taken” with illuminating words of scientists, poets, and theologians. Introduced by an essay from award-winning science writer Sharon Begley, this revised edition includes more than sixty new images and creates for the reader an unforgettable experience of the wonder of the universe. It was once believed that to look into the heavens was to look into the face of God. The first Hubble telescope images from space, which appeared in 1990, confirmed that sentiment in ways that are beyond imagination. These eerily luminous landscapes, splendid with color and motion, gave us a glimpse into the outermost reaches of the universe—a vast, unexplored realm where spiraling galaxies cartwheeled, nebulae shimmered, and stars were born. Dark clouds parted like gauzy curtains and allowed us to peer directly into the heart of a mystery. Since that time, more images have been captured on film that are simultaneously wondrous and troubling, restoring to our lives that very mystery that seems to be part of the human experience.

God’s Diamond Among Rocks by Sandra H. McKoy Pdf

God’s Diamond Among Rocks is a captivating, moving true story of the incredible struggles of a single parent and her adopted son. It is a story of love, hope, sacrifice, endurance and an unwavering trust in the promises of God for her son’s life. This story will capture your heart and reveal the hand of God and His unconditional love. Twenty years ago the author was my special needs son’s teacher. Her love for children is amazing. She lives her everyday life for the glory of God. I highly recommend this book. Diane L. Mikell-Rasa, RN Former President, National Association for Healthcare Quality Former Director, Quality Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center The most striking aspect of Sandra’s story is that amazing people and opportunities seemed to step forth, right out of the ether, when she needs them the most. As the story progresses, don’t be surprised if you find yourself praying right along with Sandra as she becomes a mom, secures a more ideal job situation and buys her own home. God is simply amazing, and this hilarious, mournful and soul-stirring story is a testimony that will edify us all. Donna Mitchell, Journalist: New York City, New York. In our American society one barely hears about adoption with the exception of a celebrity and a child from a foreign land. As great as those occurrences are, the fact is that there are many within our neighborhoods that undergo the arduous process without all the fame and finances. Americans rarely know what actually happens to children in foster care and how many are not adopted. You hold in your hand a compelling true story on the struggles that exist within our foster care and adoption programs. Sandy McKoy reveals the complications that accompanied her pursuit of simply touching another life, and writes about the realities that will try to exhaust one from reaching the wonderful goal of adoption. As you read this book you will experience the suspense as she not only faces bureaucratic resistance but spiritual resistance also. This book will show you what faith is, why it is needed, but most of all how it is the only way to have victory. I believe that “God’s Diamond Among Rocks” has all the power and intensity to become a great movie someday. Open this book and enter a place not often visited. Rev Benjamin Valentin Staff Minister of Faith Fellowship Ministries Sayreville, New Jersey The Word of God tells us to tell the truth out of a loving place. So often as Christians – and as people – we sugarcoat the truth because we know it might challenge us and make us uncomfortable. Yet life goes on, with its daily lessons and unavoidable truths. I salute my dear friend and sister for sharing her powerful testimony and for reminding us that with GOD all things are possible. Let this memoir encourage you to know, you can choose to be content. The Joy of The Lord can be your strength. And those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Thank you, Sandra McKoy, for telling your story with unflinching honesty. Sandra shares her true, honest, tearful, joyful, triumphant truth of God’s love, patience, deliverance and endurance in her life and the life of her son. My former college friend: It is who she was and is. It is and was what she was raised to do. It is and was the way she lived. Their story affects everyone that has crossed their path and it will affect you, if you’ll simply let it. Marsha Evans Educational Tutor & Mentor Norlina, North Carolina

Love Makes Things Happen by Jarred Mercer,Jennifer Strawbridge,Peter Groves Pdf

We can’t truly participate in prayer, or worship, or the sacraments, or the reading of Scripture, and so on, in a way that is divorced from the doctrine of the Trinity, or the Incarnation, or the Resurrection. Following on from its predecessor, Love Makes No Sense each chapter in this book deals with central issues of Christian practice, and presents an introduction to Christian doctrine without losing focus of the lived Christian life. The book sets forth central aspects of Christian living and practice that are the natural expression of those doctrines when they are understood properly as a lived phenomenon.

Mormonism and the Emotions by Mauro Properzi Pdf

Mormonism and the Emotions: An Analysis of LDS Scriptural Texts is an introductory Latterday Saint (LDS) theology of emotion that is both canonically based and scientifically informed. It highlights three widely accepted characteristics of emotion that emerge from scientific perspectives—namely, the necessity of cognition for its emergence, the personal responsibility attached to its manifestations, and its instrumentality in facilitating various processes of human development and experience. In analyzing the basic theological structure of Mormonism and its unique canonical texts the objective is to determine the extent to which LDS theology is compatible with this three-fold definition of emotion. At this basic level of explanation, the conclusion is that science and Mormon theology undoubtedly share a common perspective. The textual investigation focuses on unique Mormon scriptures and on their descriptions of six common emotions: hope, fear, joy, sorrow, love, and hate. For each of these emotional phenomena the extensive report of textual references consistently confirms an implied presence of the outlined three-fold model of emotion. Thus, the evidence points to the presence of an underlying folk model of emotion in the text that broadly matches scientific definitions. Additionally, the theological examination is enlarged with a particular focus on the Mormon theology of atonement, which is shown to play a significant role in LDS understandings of emotions. A broad exploration of such areas as epistemology, cosmology, soteriology, and the theological anthropology of Mormonism further contextualizes the analysis and roots it in the LDS theological worldview.

Scientism: A New World Dream by Greg Heard Pdf

In Scientism: A New World Dream, the author delves into the rise of left-brain dominance in Western culture and its impact on our understanding of the world. The author argues that this shift has led to a more distanced and factual approach, akin to the denatured view of science and the emergence of scientism. Through examination of cultural movements throughout history, the author suggests that this mindset has resulted in a disregard for actual fact-checking and a reliance on ideas over reality, leading to the prevalence of fake news and opinions. This book provides a thought-provoking examination of the impact of scientism on our society and raises important questions about the nature of truth and reality.

SOCRATES by Nazia Jafri,Olivera Z. Mijuskovic,Giuseppe Gagliano,George Papageorgakis ,István Király V. ,Viviana Yaccuzzi Polisena,Prida Ariani Ambar Astuti Pdf

This issue of Socrates has been divided into three sections. The first section is Language & Literature- Persian. The paper authored by Nazia Jafri critically analyses the novel Gunah-e-Muqaddas. This novel represents the Political and social situation in Iran during the Pahlavi. The second section of this issue is Philosophy. The Paper authored by Olivera Z. Mijuskovic, critically analyses Aristotle's concept of the State. The word policy comes from the ancient Greek word "polis" and from it created another word "politeia" which refers to a lifestyle and "a general thing of all citizens". "Bios politikos" or practical life was related to life in community with other people. The definition of man as a political being (physei zoon politikon) comes from Aristotle. The paper authored by Giuseppe Gagliano proposes a historical analysis of The French school of economic warfare tradition, focusing on the last three decades of the 20th Century. The paper authored by George Papageorgakis shows how the requirement for the measure was reflected in the theoretical thinking of Presocratic philosophers. The paper deals with the period, when the concepts of measure, measurement and moderation penetrated into the fields of ethics and political philosophy, fields that still have not acquired a more systematic form as it happens in the era of Plato, Aristotle and their descendants. The paper authored by István Király V. attempts to conceptualise the “ancient” issues of human death and human mortality in connection to the timely and vital subject of euthanasia. The paper authored by Viviana Yaccuzzi Polisena emphasises upon one of the most beautiful theories offering an optimal explanation of the Cosmos: Everett III's theory, Relative State Formulation Of Quantum Mechanics, later expanded by Bryce DeWitt (1971) as The Many-Worlds Interpretation Of Quantum Mechanics. The third section of this issue is Politics law and Governance. The paper authored by Prida Ariani Ambar Astuti is a Case Study of Elections in Jakarta, Indonesia which attempts to prove that Social media platforms have paved the way for political participation among youth, and has re-conceptualization the traditional form of political participation.

The Pulpit Commentary, Volume 7 by Spence-Jones, Henry Pdf

The Pulpit Commentary was first published between 1880 and 1919 and is a highly respected work written by conservative, trustworthy men. Containing over 22,000 pages and 95,000 entries, it is one of the largest and best-selling homiletic commentary sets of all time. It was directed by editors Joseph Exell and Henry Donald Maurice Spence-Jones and utilized more than 100 authors over a 30-year span. When reading this commentary, it is not difficult to see why it has remained a favorite amongst pastors for more than 100 years. There are three key elements which set this apart from its contemporaries, the first being that it gives an exposition, or verse-by-verse, annotation of each verse in the Bible. The second element is that it explores the framework of the text, the homiletics. Finally, it supplies the homilies with multiple model sermons from various authors. Also included is a translation as well as historical and geographical information. The Evangelical Magazine and Missionary Chronicle declared, “This commentary bids fair to take a conspicuous place among the ever-multiplying aids to the study of the Holy Scriptures. It will revive the great work of Lange, and will far exceed the Speaker's Commentary in the bulk and fullness of its material. The peculiarity of the Pulpit Commentary is that it offers special assistance to the preacher: first by giving him a critical and exegetical exposition of the text of Scripture, and then providing him with succinct and helpful directions as to the preachable aspects of the chapter and paragraph already explained." The print edition of this set typically retails for more than $1,000 making the current offered price a very good bargain. Due to its size, it has been broken up into nine separate volumes: Volume 1 Genesis to Joshua Volume 2 Judges to 2 Kings Volume 3 1 Chronicles to Job Volume 4 Psalms to Song of Songs Volume 5 Isaiah to Daniel Volume 6 Hosea to Malachi Volume 7 Matthew to John Volume 8 Act to Philippians Volume 9 Colossians to Revelation The footnotes have been placed in line with the text with each footnote number enclosed in red brackets (i.e.: []) and the text in green. There is also a linked table of contents at the beginning of each volume for ease of navigation.
