The Second Coming and the End by Vigyan Mitra Pdf

After the rise of Jesus, the Christ, the next most important event of the Christian world is known as Second Coming. The signs Jesus mentioned relating to this event are now all present. The Second Coming and the End draws on both the Old and New Testaments and tries to unravel the mystery behind what Jesus said. Its goal is to place before the world the invaluable knowledge that was once brought to light by the ancient rishis of India and that is of a universal nature. It presents these insights to suit the current level of awareness, when scientific knowledge and reasoning are widely in vogue and commonplace. This study builds on authentic texts, making no changes to ancient knowledge but taking modern science into account. Working with the grace of God, author Vigyan Mitra seeks to serve science, yoga, and philosophy on the same plate. This spiritual and philosophical study explores what Jesus meant by “the Son of Man is with you, He is in you,” revealing an answer that will change the world forever.

Altered Destinations by Makarand R. Paranjape Pdf

‘Altered Destinations’ addresses the complex interrelations of state, nation and identity in India through the medium of culture, and compellingly reframes the debate in the context of the Gandhian concept of swaraj. Engaging with Gandhi’s classic text ‘Hind Swaraj’, which envisioned an entirely new form of identity and governance in India in opposition with its colonial past, Paranjape extends the discussion by exlporing how ideas of autonomy, selfhood, and cultural independence have been expressed, depicted and studied.

Capital as Power by Jonathan Nitzan,Shimshon Bichler Pdf

Conventional theories of capitalism are mired in a deep crisis: after centuries of debate, they are still unable to tell us what capital is. Liberals and Marxists both think of capital as an ‘economic’ entity that they count in universal units of ‘utils’ or ‘abstract labour’, respectively. But these units are totally fictitious. Nobody has ever been able to observe or measure them, and for a good reason: they don’t exist. Since liberalism and Marxism depend on these non-existing units, their theories hang in suspension. They cannot explain the process that matters most – the accumulation of capital. This book offers a radical alternative. According to the authors, capital is not a narrow economic entity, but a symbolic quantification of power. It has little to do with utility or abstract labour, and it extends far beyond machines and production lines. Capital, the authors claim, represents the organized power of dominant capital groups to reshape – or creorder – their society. Written in simple language, accessible to lay readers and experts alike, the book develops a novel political economy. It takes the reader through the history, assumptions and limitations of mainstream economics and its associated theories of politics. It examines the evolution of Marxist thinking on accumulation and the state. And it articulates an innovative theory of ‘capital as power’ and a new history of the ‘capitalist mode of power’.

The Future Of The Past by Peter Martland Pdf

At the beginning of the new millennium, The Future of the Past offers a fresh interpretation of the issues and developments that have shaped our world over the last thousand years. By bringing together the expertise of members of the History Faculty at Cambridge University, all of them leaders in their chosen fields, a work of history has been created that is both fascinating and unique. Rather than approaching history as a chain of past events, this book examines some of the key issues facing mankind today and places them into a broad historical context by examining their development throughout the ages. By viewing history through themes such as religious authority, civil liberty, political ideology, demographic change and economic cycles, The Future of the Past challenges many long-held beliefs and enables the reader to reflect upon the dramatic changes of the past and the challenges of the future. As Europe reshapes itself, the question of how it was defined in the past comes to the fore; as Britain experiences devolution, its historical contours and identity are being probed afresh; as the influence of the United States steadily extends across the globe, it compels a reappraisal of the history and responsiveness of Western intellectual, cultural and political traditions. By exploring these issues, The Future of the Past provides an authoritative yet accessible introduction to the study of history and demonstrates how the changing present can revitalize our views of the past.
