Why these things, or either of them, are ao, is a very natural as well as an interesting enquiry; for the ublic interest is deeply concerned in the tide ity of the public nts, in a matter so delicately meeting the oh no reputation. Want of meansxit is believe cannot be plead in ex cuse for it - the finances are represented to be in the most pros erous condition; and the te venue, in gene seems greatly to have ex ceeded the estimates made of its product.
