The Original Aramaic Gospel of John in Plain English by Rev. David Bauscher Pdf

This is the Gospel of John translated from the Aramaic text of the 1905 Syriac Peshitta New Testament, published by the British and United Bible Societies. Aramaic was the language of Jesus and his countrymen of Israel, as well as that of neighboring Syria, Persia, Asia, and all Jewish colonies throughout the known world. The Peshitta has a long tradition among Syrian and Assyrian (Iraqi and Lebanese) Christians as being the original text of the New Testament written by the Apostles and Evangelists of Jesus in the first century AD. Mel Gibson's film, The Passion of The Christ presented an Aramaic script for most of the dialogue of Jesus and the Apostles and other Jews, which added realism, historic accuracy and power to the film. Read this Gospel translated directly from inspired John's Aramaic words given by Rucha d'Qoodsha (The Spirit of Holiness) presenting The Lord Messiah Yeshua as Jehovah of Hosts- The Living God of Heaven and Creator of the universe, and according to the words which he himself spoke.

The Original Aramaic New Testament in Plain English by Rev. David Bauscher Pdf

This is a rare New Testament (3rd edition) from the Aramaic language of Jesus and his countrymen of 1st century Israel in a prose English translation . Aramaic was used in Mel Gibson's film "The Passion of the Christ" to make the film as realistic and accurate as possible. This New Testament will surprise and thrill the reader with its power and inspiration coming from the words of "Eeshu" (Pronunciation of 'Jesus' in ancient Aramaic) as He originally spoke them, in a literal yet idiomatic English rendering. Much evidence is presented in notes demonstrating very powerfully that The Peshitta Aramaic NT is the original behind The Greek NT. There are many graphics and even photos from Dead Sea Scrolls to illustrate an Aramaic verse and how a reading was interpreted by a Greek translating the text, making this a unique scholarly study Bible in elegant Lucida Calligraphy font.539 pages 6x9" Black & White;hardbound.

An Aramaic Approach to Q by Maurice Casey Pdf

This is the first book to examine the Aramaic dimension of Q since the Aramaic Dead Sea scrolls made such work more feasible. Maurice Casey gives a detailed examination of key passages in Matthew and Luke's gospels, demonstrating that they used two different Greek translations of an Aramaic source, which can be reconstructed. He overturns the conventional model of Q as a single Greek document, and shows that Jesus said everything in the original Aramaic source. Further analysis of other gospel passages shows the evangelists editing a Greek translation of an Aramaic source. On one, it can be shown that Mark utilises a different Aramaic source. A complex model of Q is thus proposed. Casey argues that Aramaic sources behind part of Q are of extremely early date, and should contribute significantly to the quest for the historical Jesus.

Aramaic Peshitta New Testament Translation by Janet M. Magiera Pdf

Aramaic Peshitta New Testament Translation is a translation of the New Testament into English that is based on the Gwilliam text. This translation includes explanatory footnotes marking variant readings from the Old Syriac, Eastern text, and other Peshitta manuscripts. Other footnotes provide cultural understanding and a system of abbreviations that mark idioms and figures of speech so that they are easily recognizable. The translation is as literal as possible, but with readable English, giving the flavor and rhythm of Eastern language. Aramaic is the language of the first century and the Peshitta is the earliest complete manuscript of the New Testament.

Jegar Sahadutha-"Heap of Witness" (Evidence for an Aramaic Original NT) by Rev. David Bauscher Pdf

This is a compilation (2nd ed.-2012) of at least 750 evidences from my Aramaic-English Interlinear New Testament supporting an Aramaic original behind a Greek translation of the NT (Peshitta).I have illustrated many of the examples in the Peshitta and Greek NT's using Dead Sea Scroll script Aramaic letters and Greek letters. Other examples include historical and grammatical errors in the Greek New Testament, which are not found in the Peshitta, demonstrating that The Peshitta-Peshitto Aramaic New Testament is the original text behind The Greek New Testament. There are examples drawn from 26 New Testament books-except Jude. The Aramaic edition I use and present in my interlinear is the Syriac New Testament of The 1979 UBS Syriac Bible. It is a critical edition based on several critical editions:one of the Gospels, by Gwilliam & Pusey (1901) , Gwilliams' 1920 edition of Acts and Paul's Epistles and a 1920 edition of John Gwynn's critical ed. of The Catholic Epistles and Revelation.200 pages- 8x11 B&W Paperback

Idioms in the Bible Explained and a Key to the Original Gospels by George M. Lamsa Pdf

World-renowned Bible translator and commentator George M. Lamsa explains nearly one thousand crucial idioms that will enrich reading of the Old and New Testaments for students and general reader alike. Lamsa, who was raised speaking Aramaic in a community that followed customs largely unchanged since the times of Christ, offers fresh, accurate translations of important idioms, metaphors, and figures of speech found in the Scripture--and provides clear explanations of their meaning of biblical context. Just as Shakespeare, Milton, and Browning wrote in the vernacular for English-speaking people, Moses the prophets, and the apostles wrote for their own people in the plain language of their times, so that even the unlearned might understand God's Word. Over the centuries, inaccurate translations and misunderstandings of customs and concepts have led to difficulties in bringing the biblical message to contemporary English-speaking readers. For example, when a man says to Jesus, "let me bury my father," Lamsa points out that this expression means, "Let me first take care of my father until he dies." Traditionally, scholars assumed that this man's father was dead and that Jesus was not interested in his burial. Lamsa's scholarship offers a more accurate understanding of the intent and spirit of this passage. Idioms in the Bible Explained and a Key to the Original Gospels goes far in correcting such errors that have crept into Biblical scholarship. Obscure and difficult passages from both Old and New Testaments are listed and compared with the King James version (though it will be helpful when used with any English version). These make clear the original meaning of such ancient idioms and assure that our grasp of the biblical message is more sound and rewarding. To further uncover the original teachings of Scripture, Idioms in the Bible Explained and a Key to the Original Gospels, Lamsa discusses at greater length such topics as "The Language of Jesus," "Aramaic Phraseology," "The Sayings of Jesus," "Early Translations," and more..
