The Random Ramblings of a Restless Mind by Adam Gary Pdf

'Even in the thickest of mud you can find a beautiful bloom.'Often find yourself lying awake at night, bothered by your thoughts? Or seeking out inspirational quotes that speak to your soul? The Random Ramblings of a Restless Mind first started out as a means for Adam to collect his thoughts in one place; almost like a diary. Adam never intended to add any poetry onto it's pages, however he naturally found himself turning these observations and thoughts into poems, most of which have resulted in becoming what is referred to as 'shorties.'Quickly it became apparent Adam was in fact putting together a poetry collection, mixed with slightly philosophical and day to day observations. This is what makes 'Ramblings' unique. Random Ramblings also introduces Adam's very own poetry metre, titled the Simplex Metre.'You struggle because you think. Don't. Just be.'

More Ramblings of a Restless Mind by T. Beeth Pdf

Since the publication of my initial Ramblings in 2009, this supposedly restless mind did not suddenly acquire Zen-tranquility. It continued to be what it has been for long and here is another installment of occasional thoughts, versified. I use versified not in the strictly traditional sense because it gets a bit too restrictive for the license some of us think we have or claim to have. These ramblings are mostly in a territory that is consciously kept apart from the areas of my professional interest. This territory involves governments, politics, nature, things and people -- people of faith, deep, shallow, desert-dry or fertile with pseudo-versions of Zen and Sufism. In this territory, the things that happen are often seen and considered in a somewhat different way, and the reactions felt and expressed, not always with due respect and reverence. There is no conscious attempt to organize or sequester these thoughts into groups or categories, but if one finds any trend in this tumbling out of thoughts, it may perhaps be largely attributed to some kind of chronological, evolutionary randomness. And if in these wanderings, some hills and valleys begin to look familiar to those who may know, they could well be but, I hope, seen from a different angle, tangential to a path rather less-familiar, and offering a somewhat different view. No two sunsets over a familiar hill are ever the same to an eye or a heart that is never tired of sunsets; every wave leaves behind its own set of previously unseen gifts each time it sweeps over and recedes from a well-trodden beach. Some of these ramblings have been offered before, quite extemporaneously, to informal gatherings but if anyone detects any tell-tale signs here, it would be either incidental or that my editorial revisions have not been as thorough as I had originally intended. Mommyblogs and the Changing Face of Motherhood by May Friedman Pdf

Mothers have consistently relied upon one another for guidance and support as they navigate the difficult world of parenting. For many women, the increasingly established online community of “mommyblogs” now provides a source of camaraderie and support that acknowledges both the work of mothering and the implications of its undertaking. Beyond their capacity to entertain, how have mommyblogs shifted our understanding of twenty-first-century motherhood? In examining the content of hundreds of mommyblogs, May Friedman considers the ways that online maternal life writing provides a front row seat to some of the most raw, offbeat, and engaging portraits of motherhood imaginable. Focusing on the composition of the “mamasphere” and on mommyblogs’ emphasis on connection, Friedman reveals the changing face of contemporary motherhood – one less concerned with the proscriptions of what good mothers should do, and more invested in what diverse mothers have to say.

Blindsight by Peter Watts Pdf

Hugo and Shirley Jackson award-winning Peter Watts stands on the cutting edge of hard SF with his acclaimed novel, Blindsight Two months since the stars fell... Two months of silence, while a world held its breath. Now some half-derelict space probe, sparking fitfully past Neptune's orbit, hears a whisper from the edge of the solar system: a faint signal sweeping the cosmos like a lighthouse beam. Whatever's out there isn't talking to us. It's talking to some distant star, perhaps. Or perhaps to something closer, something en route. So who do you send to force introductions with unknown and unknowable alien intellect that doesn't wish to be met? You send a linguist with multiple personalities, her brain surgically partitioned into separate, sentient processing cores. You send a biologist so radically interfaced with machinery that he sees x-rays and tastes ultrasound. You send a pacifist warrior in the faint hope she won't be needed. You send a monster to command them all, an extinct hominid predator once called vampire, recalled from the grave with the voodoo of recombinant genetics and the blood of sociopaths. And you send a synthesist—an informational topologist with half his mind gone—as an interface between here and there. Pray they can be trusted with the fate of a world. They may be more alien than the thing they've been sent to find. At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

The Sylphs of the Season With Other Poems By Washington Allston by Washington Allston Pdf

"The Sylphs of the Season with Other Poems" is a collection of poems by Washington Allston, an American painter and poet from the Romantic era. Washington Allston (1779–1843) was associated with the Transcendentalist movement and is known for his contributions to both the visual arts and literature. The collection likely features a variety of poems, and given Allston's interests, you can expect themes related to nature, imagination, and the spiritual. The title poem, "The Sylphs of the Season," might involve mythological or fantastical elements, given the reference to sylphs, which are often depicted as air spirits or nymphs in mythology. Allston's poetry is characterized by a romantic and visionary style, often drawing inspiration from his experiences in art and nature. If you have access to the full collection or specific questions about individual poems within "The Sylphs of the Season with Other Poems," feel free to provide more details, and I'll do my best to assist you further.

Drowning Instinct by Ilsa J. Bick Pdf

Jenna Lord's first sixteen years were not exactly a fairy tale. Her father is a controlling psycho and her mother is a drunk. She used to count on her older brother until he shipped off to Iraq. And then, of course, there was the time she almost died in a fire. Mitch Anderson is many things: A dedicated teacher and coach. A caring husband. A man with a certain...magnetism. Drowning Instinct is a novel of pain, deception, desperation, and love against the odds and the rules.
