The Sheikh’s Stubborn Employee by Leslie North Pdf

Emily Baker is in a heap of trouble. Her beloved horse farm is struggling financially, and she’s just found out her late father sold her favorite horse to a sheikh from a country she’s never heard of. The buyer, Zaman Abdul-Rahman is sexy as all get-out, the sort of man who makes a fling with a sheikh seem like a good idea. But Emily isn’t looking for romance, and certainly not with the overbearing alpha male who shows up to take away her beloved and pregnant horse, Riah. Emily refuses to let him until Zaman makes her a generous offer: he’s taking Riah, but he’ll also buy another horse and bring Emily to Qadir for six months to train it for an important race. Despite her hesitation, Emily knows the influx of cash will be enough to save the farm. Before she knows it, she’s traveling to the tiny kingdom and being seduced, not only by this beautiful foreign land but by Zaman, who’s just too gorgeous to resist. Zaman isn’t the sort of man to fall for a woman, especially one with such a fierce streak of independence. But he can’t help being wildly attracted to the beautiful American, and he secretly admires her strength and intelligence. Emily will only be in Qadir for six months, so what’s the problem with giving into their searing passion for a short fling? After all, he’s an expert at not growing too attached to anyone. This time, though, things are different. Emily is different. Maddeningly hard-headed. Thoroughly lovely. And…pregnant with his child. At the news, Zaman’s world shifts dramatically. His protective instincts kick into high gear—and end up pushing Emily away. It soon becomes clear, though, that the only race he wants to win is the one for Emily’s heart…

The Sheikh's Stubborn Assistant by Leslie North Pdf

American college grad Katie is as ambitious as she is creative, so when she learns of a friend's brother who owns an art gallery in Dubai, she leaps at the chance to jumpstart her career in the luxurious city. But her dream job quickly becomes a nightmare when she discovers her new boss is as unpleasant as he is handsome. Khalid Sharif may make her pulse race but not even his dark mystique, lithe muscles and ridiculous wealth are enough to make up for his rudeness. Katie won't back down though, and she won't quit until Khalid realizes exactly what she has to offer. Some say Sheikh Khalid Sharif has more love for art than for people, but he never concerns himself with the opinions of others. He's determined to expand his gallery into one of Dubai's greatest museums and nothing will get in his way-not even his fire-haired new gallery assistant. Khalid knew it was a mistake to hire the Western woman-the determination in her amber green eyes is a distraction, and her striking beauty practically makes his blood boil. Despite this, Khalid refuses to let Katie alter his course. As Katie and Khalid continue to clash, their attraction simmers just beneath the surface. But is it enough to melt Khalid's icy exterior or will Katie be left out in the cold?

After the Sheikhs by Christopher Davidson Pdf

The Gulf monarchies (Saudi Arabia and its five smaller neighbours: the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain) have long been governed by highly autocratic and seemingly anachronistic regimes. Yet despite bloody conflicts on their doorsteps, fast-growing populations, and powerful modernising and globalising forces impacting on their largely conservative societies, they have demonstrated remarkable resilience. Obituaries for these traditional monarchies have frequently been penned, but even now these absolutist, almost medieval, entities still appear to pose the same conundrum as before: in the wake of the 2011 Arab Spring and the fall of incumbent presidents in Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya, the apparently steadfast Gulf monarchies have, at first glance, re-affirmed their status as the Middle East s only real bastions of stability. In this book, however, noted Gulf expert Christopher Davidson contends that the collapse of these kings, emirs, and sultans is going to happen, and was always going to. While the revolutionary movements in North Africa, Syria, and Yemen will undeniably serve as important, if indirect, catalysts for the coming upheaval, many of the same socio-economic pressures that were building up in the Arab republics are now also very much present in the Gulf monarchies. It is now no longer a matter of if but when the West s steadfast allies fall. This is a bold claim to make but Davidson, who accurately forecast the economic turmoil that afflicted Dubai in 2009, has an enviable record in diagnosing social and political changes afoot in the region.

Fibs, Facts and Farces - Tales from the Arab World by John Carter Pdf

The recent history of the Arab World presents a dismal story of pain, horror, and suffering. The causes are many and the blame game endless. However, the happy experiences of one Englishman throw a quite contrary light on current events, and have been written down as a way of saying thank you to all the Arabians involved for their unrivalled hospitality and friendship, as well as for sharing so much hilarious merriment. The author has collected stories over the course of many years that highlight not only the essential dottiness of his own country’s activities in the area, but also unveil the tremendous humour that the Arabs themselves possess. In this volume these tales are recorded, many for the first time, and have been added to by extensive research into the relevant literature to provide important background material, reference and explanation. To understand the humour of a race or nation is to understand and appreciate their culture and characteristics and reach a common ground. Whatever your nationality, Fibs, Facts and Farces: Tales from the Arab World will have you holding your sides.

Water Sheikhs and Dam Builders by Francesca de Chatel Pdf

Francesca de Châtel explores the problems and paradoxes of water resources in the Middle East and North Africa. She takes an entirely new angle on the much-discussed question of water scarcity by examining the history and culture of water from a human perspective. Unlike other books on the subject that provide specialized geopolitical, economic, and hydrological analyses, this book presents the reality of water scarcity through the eyes of those confronting the problem on a daily basis. The author provides a colorful and diverse portrait of a resource that is inextricably entwined with the history and future of the region and its peoples. Using research obtained in her travels, she combines lively character sketches, interviews, travel descriptions, historical anecdotes, and hard facts to reveal the complexity of this invaluable resource. Besides identifying the causes of the current water crisis, the book also discusses the reason for a lack of awareness among the general public, and deals with a variety of themes: the role of water in religions and ideologies, the impact of large-scale water projects on people’s perception of the resource, and the politics of water pricing. In exploring the past, present, and future of water in the region, de Châtel exposes the roots of the current water crisis.

Omirabad Sheikhs by Leslie North Pdf

The Sheikh’s Convenient Bride In a desperate attempt to get out from her father’s control, Nora Williams agrees to marry a man she doesn’t love. But she’s shocked when her old friend, Sheikh Rashid, whom she hasn’t seen in years, begs her not to go through with it. Even more surprising? Rashid has a proposal. Literally. Nora should marry him instead. She had a secret crush on Rashid when they were younger, so the offer is awfully enticing. But Rashid is the crown prince of Omirabad—how could she possibly fit in with his royal family? And will she be able to follow her calling for midwifery the way she wants—needs—to? Worse, Rashid’s proposal feels more like a business contract than a marriage proposal. Until they kiss, that is. As the two slowly grow closer, they must reconcile Nora’s calling with Rashid’s responsibilities to his country. And discover if this marriage of theirs is real or just a terrible mistake. The Sheikh’s Accidental Wife What happens in Vegas…apparently can follow you forever. At least that’s Clementine Llewellyn’s experience who, after a night of drinking and partying, ends up married to a sheikh, of all people. A night of passionate romance? Sure. Marriage? Not so much. Clementine wants an immediate divorce, but Samir bin Salam’s tiny country’s divorce laws require them to stay married. For three months. Samir may be the hottest guy she’s ever seen—never mind spent time under the sheets with—but still. He’s a sheikh and she’s a nobody. But as the two of them spend more time together it doesn’t take long before Clem’s feelings for Samir go from lust to love. However, she’s sure Samir doesn’t feel the same. Best to cut her losses when she can. Samir isn’t looking for a wife, but when he wakes up with one, he’s willing to do what’s needed until the two can go their separate ways. He may not have a single thing in common with his quirky, flighty, sexy new wife, but all that is quickly forgotten when they’re in bed. That side of their marriage is perfection. In fact, most of the time he spends with her—the talks, the laughter, the way she completely embraces his people—is bliss. Even so, it’s shocking when he realizes he’s in love with her, a revelation that Samir may have made too late. Because by the time he knows he can’t live without her, she’s already gone… The Sheikh’s Unexpected Fiancée When her half-sister flees with her true love to avoid an arranged marriage, Zainab Halil bravely steps up to take her place. All her life, Zainab has sought the approval of her father, Javeed, but even she is shocked when he refuses to consider his oldest daughter—her—for an alliance that will finally bring peace between his tribe and the royal family of Omirabad. Javeed has always been a bit embarrassed by Zainab, who was the result of a fling with an American girl he met one summer. With her mother dead, Zainab now lives with her father, doing everything she can to win his approval—even if that means marrying a man she’s never met. Though she’s willing to wed for the sake of the tribe, she secretly doesn’t believe it’s much of a sacrifice, given that the one she would be marrying, Khalid bin Salam, is one of the most handsome and charming men she’s ever met. At first, Khalid is resistant to the idea of an arranged marriage. And then he meets Zainab, and the idea of marrying a stranger is a bit more appealing. He likes her American ways, her lovely smile, her beautiful curves. But Javeed is determined to keep them apart, pulling every string he can reach to ensure each day passes without them seeing each other. That still leaves the nights… And as their passion builds, their marriage seems less arranged and more like destiny. If only Javeed could see what’s best for his tribe and his daughter.
