Sword of the Lamb by M.K. Wren Pdf

The thrilling start to the Phoenix Legacy space opera: “A new classic! Has the sweep and power of Asimov’s Foundation Trilogy” (Jean M. Auel, author of the Earth’s Children series). At the heart of the Concord empire, unrest is festering. Unrecognized by the Elite, the ruling class, an undercurrent of rebellion is surging through the enslaved Bond class. It’s a threat that could bring down all of civilization, creating a third Dark Age. Lord Alexand, first born of the House of DeKoven Woolf, stands to inherit a vast industrial conglomerate along with a seat on the Directorate, the Concord’s ruling body. But he sees the writing on the wall and realizes that if the Bonds explode into total rebellion, there will be nothing to inherit, and the toll in human suffering will be beyond calculation. He makes the difficult decision to “die” and join the Society of the Phoenix, a clandestine organization whose existence is known to only a few Directorate Lords, who consider membership treason and punishable by death. But it may be humanity’s only hope . . .

The Sword of the Lamb by Leon Thomas Perkins Pdf

My loving intention of this book, was a dream I had of Revelation after I read it all. I was wonder how the final day s will be for each one of us before Jesus returns for the Christian s. So in my dream, I watch a couple of people living up to the moment of the rapture, and how they survive that moment. Then I had a feeling to put the dream and Revelation somewhat together before the rapture happens, and so for years I work on it. In general, it is a life story of four people out to save Christian s from the great stealing away I BELIEVE SATAN WILL TRY IN THE LAST FEW YEARS BEFORE JESUS RETURN. WHERE HE WILL OVERWHELMING WORK ON STEALING THE CHILDREN OF GOD AWAY FROM GOD. So, I thought up names and characters to tell a story of Satan s attempt to steal us away from God. These characters fi ght to fi nd a sword that has powers against all evil, and candefeat all demons attacking. These loving characters deal with the world, evil, demonic monsters, self, new loves, and their past. To complete a God given mission to save the lost Christian s pulled away from God. As they deal, and stop the plan s of demons, the Anti- Christ, and even Satan himself to save souls, and if they can do it, or not to locate the Sword of the Lamb in time to stop the demon of lie s a daughter of the main demon of lie s Satan. So, I hope you enjoy my dream, and how I put it into written word, and in turn I really hope it will bring you closer to the Father God, Son, and let the deliverer the Holy Spirit directed your life. I am sorry for my bad grammar I being a science geek, and not a writer in school. God bless you I hope you enjoy the adventures.

Swords from the West by Harold Lamb Pdf

Beset by enemies on every side and torn by internal divisions, the crusader kingdoms were a hotbed of intrigue, where your greatest ally might be your natural enemy. Because lives and kingdoms often rested on the edge of a sword blade, it was a time when a bold heart and a steady hand would see you far--so long as you watched your back.

Swords from the East by Harold Lamb Pdf

Their conquest was measured not in miles but in degrees of longitude. They smashed the gates of empires, overthrew kingdoms, diverted rivers, and depopulated entire countries. They were the Mongols of Genghis Khan, swift and merciless but also resourceful, bold, and cunning. Their tale has seldom been told in the West, and never by an author with the acumen of Harold Lamb. Ride with young Temujin as he outwits schemers and assassins and rises to conquer Asia as Genghis Khan. Venture to the land beneath the northern lights on a mission of vengeance with Maak the Buriat. Stand with Aruk the gatekeeper and Hugo the Frank as they hold the pass against the Sungar hordes. Lamb’s action-packed Mongolian stories, available here in one complete volume, restore the Mongols to their place in history, portraying them not as mindless barbarians but as men of honor and bravery who laid down their lives for their leader and their lands.

Durandal by Harold Lamb Pdf

Durandal -- one of the greatest epics of heroic fiction ever written -- has been an influence upon and model for a score or more tales of swordplay and adventure. Durandal, the fabled sword of history and legend, somehow found its way into the Near-East after the death of Roland, knight of Charlemagne. The tale of two Crusaders whose band of 800 has been betrayed by the Christian Emperor Theodore and butchered by the Turks. "Simply brilliant!" wrote one critic. "It is the foundation of modern heroic fantasy". (Somber and moody, this title is included among my all-time favorites -- Donald M. Grant.)

Swords from the Desert by Harold Lamb Pdf

Countless authors have swept us into the exotic east, but few based their tales there. In a time when westerners still spoke publicly about “the white man’s burden,” Harold Lamb was crafting action-packed stories featuring Arabs, Mongols, and Hindus as heroic, sympathetic, and believable characters: men of honor and integrity ready to lay down their lives for their countries and their comrades. Assembled in this volume are four novellas and three short stories gleaned from the work of one of the greatest pulp writers. Lamb eventually won acclaim and awards for his accurate historical research and was regularly consulted by the State Department for his Middle Eastern expertise, but before any of that he drafted these thrilling tales of adventure. In “The Shield,” Khalil el Khadr reaches storied Constantinople just before it is besieged by a horde of crusaders. He must survive the intrigues of his rivals, bypass the invading Franks, rescue the maiden under his charge, and escape with the city’s most fabulous horse. Journey to sixteenth-century India with the brilliant Daril ibn Athir, a skilled Arab physician with a sharp wit and a sharper sword that he must wield in three novellas to keep schemers and assassins at bay. Three shorter tales of heroes and maidens from desert lands round out this volume, a must-have for those who thrill to tales of bold deeds and daring exploits.

Caesar and the Lamb by George Kalantzis Pdf

Through the available patristic writings Caesar and the Lamb focuses on the attitudes of the earliest Christians on war and military service. Kalantzis not only provides the reader with many new translations of pre-Constantinian texts, he also tells the story of the struggle of the earliest Church, the communities of Christ at the margins of power and society, to bear witness to the nations that enveloped them as they transformed the dominant narratives of citizenship, loyalty, freedom, power, and control. Although Kalantzis examines writings on war and military service in the first three centuries of the Christian Church in an organized manner, the ways earliest Christians thought of themselves and the state are not presented here through the lens of antiquarian curiosity. With theological sensitivity and historical acumen this companion leads the reader into the world in which Christianity arose and asks questions of the past that help us understand the early character of the Christian faith with the hope that such an enterprise will also help us evaluate its expression in our own time.
