This Is That Personal Experiences, Sermons and Writings of Aimee Semple McPherson, Evangelist (Classic Reprint) by Aimee Semple McPherson Pdf

Excerpt from This Is That Personal Experiences, Sermons and Writings of Aimee Semple McPherson, Evangelist The realization that Jesus is coming soon and that whatever is done must be done quickly, has put a "hurry-up" in my soul to get the message to the greatest number of people in the shortest possible time by every available means. Sometimes when laboring in certain portions of the Master's vineyard, we have felt that we were reaching many, but when, under the burden of prayer, the Lord catches us up in the Spirit, and with clarified vision and broadened horizon we see earth's millions who are yet unconscious of the signs of the times and know not that the coming of the Lord is nigh at hand, we are overwhelmed with the desire to speed through the lands, and ring the message forth - "Jesus is coming soon - prepare to meet him!" Oh, that we might write it in flaming letters upon the sky! It is to this end, therefore, that this book is sent forth. Part I - Personal Testimony - simply written and solely for the encouragement of others, knowing that what the Lord has so graciously done for one so unworthy, He is abundantly able and willing to do for all. Part II - "In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." Part III - Sermons and Writings - contains a message to the sinner; - to the born-again soul who has not yet received the baptism with the Holy Spirit, and to the baptized believer who is pressing on to perfection. This Is That by Aimee Semple McPherson Pdf

Preacher, mother and founder of the Foresquare Church in Los Angeles, Aimee Semple McPherson is one of the world's most revered evangelists ever to have lived. A pioneer of the modern-day Pentecostal movement, she preached a gospel of love for Jesus and an openess to the Holy Spirit; the manifestations of which were clearly visible in her ministry. Everywhere she went the sick were healed, sinners saved and backsliders came running down the aisles re-commiting their lives to God. Such was the attention that she picked up from this, both within the Christian community and through the media - something she cleverly used to her advantage - that in every meeting there would be standing room only. At one point when crowds reached 30,000 people, the National Guard were called in to retain order. This is that is Aimee Semple McPherson's own book; her words carrying on her ministry even to this day. It tells of her personal conversion, her baptism in the Holy Spirit and her calling to the ministry. Aimee then provides her teaching on all things spiritual, particularly those relating to the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. Finally the book closes with testimonies from those touched by her and a few prophetic words. Originally published in 1919, this edition has been edited and re-formatted.

The Collected Sermons and Writings of Aimee Semple Mcpherson by Aimee Semple Mcpherson Pdf

Aimee Semple McPherson, founder of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, was perhaps the most famous Pentecostal evangelist of the early twentieth century. Thousands attended her meetings. But with her radio sermons and syndicated articles, she reached millions both in the United States and abroad. Much has been written about McPherson's fascinating life and her impact on millions of followers. Yet surprisingly, her writings and sermons have never been compiled and published-until now. The Collected Sermons and Writings of Aimee Semple McPherson arranges McPherson's body of work chronologically, allowing readers to see how her style, subject matter, and emphases changed as her ministry developed. As a Pentecostal evangelist, McPherson based her messages on the scriptural understanding that as Jesus is unchanging, the miracles and spiritual gifts of the early church should be part of modern Christian practice. Accordingly, her writings focus on God's miraculous healing, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the miracle of speaking in tongues. A valuable resource for religious scholars, McPherson's collective writings contain wisdom and inspiration for the everyday Christian, while also providing an insightful look into the devoted mind of one of the twentieth century's most influential women.

Aimee Semple McPherson by Douglas Haig Rudd Pdf

Read of Aimee Semple McPherson's amazing evangelistic meetings and her founding of the 5,300-seat Angelus Temple, a church still vibrant today. Dr. Robert Schuller of the Crystal Cathedral, Garden Grove, California. Late one night, Dr. Schuller landed at LA International, picked up his car and began the drive home. On the radio he heard a woman preaching. So taken was he with the message that he exclaimed, I want to get that woman to preach at my church. When the program went off the air, he realized that it had been the voice of Aimee Semple McPherson, recorded years before. (Raymond Cox p.242) Dr. Jack Hayford, president of the Foursquare Church International. There are very few people who have done more to magnify the person of Jesus and win souls to Him, yet who have suffered more unfairness and criticism for doing so. (Jack Hayford, The Legacy of Sister Aimee: Tarnished but Triumphant, Charisma and Christian Life (March 1993), p.16)
