Turning the Tide of Male Juvenile Delinquency by Dr. Lawrence C. Grebstein, PhD, ABPP,Dr. Judy A. Van Wyk, PhD Pdf
Research evidence now supports the prediction that juvenile delinquents fare significantly better in rehabilitative programs than in youth prisons or home confinement. This book constitutes a groundbreaking, how-to roadmap for developing and implementing an effective rehabilitative program for delinquent youth. Based on a landmark study on the treatment of juvenile delinquents, the book describes a multidisciplinary approach toward solving social problems and illustrates how an integrative model of family counseling can be applied in a residential setting. This program hones the most effective strategies into a single unified evolutionary approach to rehabilitation that will be useful to psychologists, social workers, counselors, and students working with juvenile delinquents. The authors have culled information from sociology, psychology, criminology, and social justice to explain why juveniles commit crimes and have developed strategies toward rehabilitation that directly address the causes. Analyzing data that spans 31 years from a large study of youth offenders that incorporates information from multiple sources, they describe in detail how this model residential treatment and education program provides a viable alternative to youth prison. Chapters address the historical context for present-day treatment of juvenile delinquency and the main components of the program at Ocean Tides, including its underlying philosophy, detailed descriptions of effective interventions, practical strategies for interviewing and working with adolescent male juvenile delinquents, and training programs that can be used in other settings. The book also includes new and important data on the effects of family violence and includes descriptions of how outside consultants can be used to inform treatment and rehabilitation. KEY FEATURES: Describes a proven, multidisciplinary approach to significantly reducing violent behavior among juveniles Based on a landmark study of an effective rehabilitative program Includes new and important data on the effects of family violence Guides professionals in replicating the success of the Ocean Tides program Provides readers with practical strategies for interviewing and working with adolescent male juvenile delinquents

Acorns: Windows High-Tide Foghat by Joshua Morris Pdf
Acorns delineates the future of humanity as a reunification of intellect with the Deep Self. Having chosen to focus upon ego (established securely by the time of Christ), much more beta brain wave development will destroy our species and others, which process has already begun. We create our own realities through beliefs, intents and desires and we were in and out of probabilities constantly. Feelings follow beliefs, not the other way around.

The Oc Tara Tides by Adrian Shaun Bates Pdf
Following the nuclear fallout of an event known as The Collapse, survivors in the Welsh hamlet of Tragumna have managed to rebuild peaceful lives for themselves through community, caring for crops and livestock, and living off the land. This tranquility, however, is jeopardized by the looming threats of plague and invasion. Thus, Tegwynn Galander must travel to the island now known as Faïl to meet its leaders and request that Tragumna’s people be allowed to resettle there. On Faïl also grows a special medicinal plant—one needed to treat the chronic radiation burns of Teg’s friend, Vanessa, whose condition constantly risks worsening. But Faïl will be more than just a difficult journey through the wilderness. Strange individuals— some benevolent, some dangerous—await Teg on his journey, as do romance, an awakening to esoteric spirituality, and encounters with beings straight from Celtic folklore. In the end, Teg’s quest may force him to brave horizons even further than Faïl, ones of which he had never previously even dreamed.

Ponniyin Selvan - The New Tide - Part 1 by Varalotti Rengasamy Pdf
When I started translating Kalki’s Ponniyin Selvan in 2010, blissfully unaware of the depth and the magnitude of the work, several people tried to dissuade me. One potential publisher even lured me with an offer to translate another work of Kalki. Reason: there were already many translations around. Yes, there were. But most of them, though done with utmost sincerity, failed to create the emotional bond with the readers which the original author had effortlessly done in the Fifties when Ponniyin Selvan was serialised in a popular magazine. I did not rush up. I did not have a target or deadline. I let the translation work progress in its own pace. That explains the six long years I spent for this project. I read and re-read the first draft a dozen times before handing it over to my editors. There were many points of contention. There were issues where we could not reach a consensus easily. Finally the hard copy was ready for publication in 2016. The publisher had jitters and so did I. We got ready rough copies of two volumes. I gave it to two of my friends, who had read the original more than sixty times, with a mandate to read them in one go. They did and said “This is the best you can do in English.” The work culminated not when the book was released by a former Central Minister in 2016, not even when it went for three editions but when an ardent fan of Kalki sent a mail to me in 2019. “It was as if Kalki himself rendered his great work in English.”
