My First Day by Anonim Pdf

I wrote this book to help girls learn more about the transition from girlhood to womanhood. I realised it is taboo even to mention a girl's menstrual cycle in some countries, and I want to change that by writing this book. In this book, you will find chapters that will help to answer your burning questions and an excellent period tracker at the end; you will also get a few bonus chapters and some more knowledge about your amazing female body, so you can learn more about your menstrual cycle and some changes you might go through, and how to deal with them. In my secondary school, many girls started their periods without knowing what was happening to their bodies. I remember a girl saying she drank cranberry juice, and it came out again later. Another girl started her class cycle, finding a blood stain on her seat and uniform. I genuinely believe that my book could help girls learn about what is happening to their bodies and reassure them that it is all part of the natural process of becoming a woman. I dream of empowering girls, so they do not have to be taken by surprise on their first day. In my family, my mother, sister and grandmother talked to me to prepare me for my first day, and I pray that my book will help you to understand more about your amazing female body.

Caged Women by Shirley A. Jackson,Laurie L. Gordy Pdf

The Netflix series Orange is the New Black has drawn widespread attention to many of the dysfunctions of prisons and the impact prisons have on those who live and work behind the prison gates. This anthology deepens this public awareness through scholarship on the television program and by exploring the real-world social, psychological, and legal issues female prisoners face. Each chapter references a particular connection to the Netflix series as its starting point of analysis. The book brings together scholars to consider both media representations as well as the social justice issues for female inmates alluded to in the Netflix series Orange is the New Black. The chapters address myriad issues including cultural representations of race, class, gender, and sexuality; social justice issues for transgender inmates; racial dynamics within female prisons; gender and female prison structures/policies; treatment of women in prison; re-incarcerated and previously incarcerated women; self and identity; gender, race, and sentencing; and reproduction and parenting for female inmates.

Building Love That Lasts by Clinton Callahan Pdf

“Clinton Callahan is an original thinker.” – Marilyn Ferguson, author, The Aquarian Conspiracy and Aquarius Now, and former editor Brain-Mind Bulletin. "For modern seekers, responding to the call for initiation into relationship, here is an open invitation." MALIDOMA SOME, AUTHOR "OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT" It's one of those rare books that will definitely wake you up. I consider it must reading for anyone seriously interested in the path of conscious relationship." -- John Welwood, author of Journey of the Heart and Perfect Love, Imperfect Relationships This hard-hitting and innovative book about partnered relationship immediately challenges the deceptions about love and intimacy rampant in today’s patriarchal culture. At the same time, Building Love That Lasts reveals a step-by-step process for discovering and living out alternative possibilities. The author claims that even the best of our relationships are still generally basic level; what he calls “Ordinary Human Relationship.” He asserts that two more domains remain to be explored: namely, Extraordinary Human Relationship and Archetypal Love. The book describes exactly how to enter these new domains, and how to stay there long enough to cultivate genuine intimacy, nurturance, excitement and satisfaction together. The material for this book is startlingly original and fresh, directly distilled from over thirty years of trial, error and reevaluation within seminars and trainings conducted by the author in the U.S. and Europe. The essential teaching tools are “Thought-Maps” that illustrate and guide the dynamics of evolving relationship, coupled with a series of experiments/“explorations” to be undertaken alone or with one’s partner. Topics include: Making the leap from Defensive Learning to Expansive Learning. Breaking out of the relationship “Box.” The lie of being unlovable. Navigating in the realm of feelings. Communication skills for “explorers.

Women of Color and Hair Bias in the Work Environment by Francis, Kula A.,Clarke, Anna M. Pdf

Professional women of color identify with various natural, Black hairstyles including braids, dread locs, twists, and other natural coiled styles. Black women who work in professional settings have historically encountered negative stares, remarks, and biases. They tend to be stereotyped on their level of professionalism and competency if they choose not to conform to mainstream hairstyles. Women wearing Black hairstyles are often perceived as less beautiful and less professional than those who wear Eurocentric hairstyles. Professional Black women are often challenged in these situations where they must decide how to manage their identity in the work environment. Too often, professional Black women apply and interview for positions where their natural hairstyle becomes the topic of interest. If given the opportunity for employment, subtle references may be made about their hairstyles, which suggests such hairstyles are not in alignment with the professional climate of an organization. This type of pressure makes Black women feel forced to conform to Eurocentric hairstyles. These expectations lead to feelings of social inadequacy, hurt, and discouragement of individuals in their workplace. The apprehensions with hair acceptance are even more concerning, when considering that the notion of straight groomed hair has been largely expected not only by Whites, but also by many people of color as well. Women of Color and Hair Bias in the Work Environment explores the experiences of professional women of color who have had encountered feelings of uncertainty, self-consciousness, or differing treatment, and/or discrimination because of their natural hairstyle choices. The intent is to shine a light on the challenges professional women of color face and how these experiences impact their hiring and/or work environment. Covering topics such as hairstyle empowerment, ethics of hair bias, and diversity of hair, this book serves as an invaluable resource for educators, social workers, psychologists, organizational leadership, business professionals, and more. This book also allows women to be encouraged by stories of professional women who have overcome the societal burdens placed on natural hair.

Rise Sister Rise by Rebecca Campbell Pdf

Rise Sister Rise is a call to arms for our sacred feminine to rise up, tell the truth, and lead. From Rebecca Campbell, a writer, mystic, devotional creative, and visionary who supports hundreds of thousands of people to connect with their soul and weave the sacred back into their everyday life. It is for those who agreed at soul level to be here at this stage in history to lead this global shift that the mystics of all of the ages have predicted: the return of the mother and the rise of the feminine. Rebecca says: Rise for you, rise for me, when you rise first you rise for She. Many of us have spent much of our working lives “making it” in a man’s world, leaning on patriarchal methods of survival in order to succeed, dulling down our intuition, and ignoring the fierce power of the feminine. We have ignored the cycles of the feminine in order to survive in a patriarchal linear system—but now the world has changed. Here Are Some of the Chapters in Rise, Sister Rise: Part I – Rebecca’s Story · The Unbinding · The Wise Women · Work Baby · Shakti Rising · Returning to Avalon · Tools for Your Rising Part II – Birthing A New Age · We Were Made for These Times · Shakti Always Rises · The Holy Grail is Within You Part III – Remembering Our Cyclic Nature · You Are Spirit Earthed · You'll Find Your True Nature in Nature · When Whispers Turn into Shouts Part IV – Unbinding the Wise, Wild Woman · The Suppression of the Female Voice · The Mystic Always Rises · Finding Mary · The Return of the Magdalenes Part V – Redefining Sisterhood · The Reunion · The Ones Who Came Before Us · When Women Circle · Your Constellation of Sisters · Calling in Your Sisters Part VI – Doing the Work · What Is Rising in You? · Rising Feminine Archetypes · New World Rising Birthed by You · Let the Universe Use You · Be a Clear Channel · A Prayer for Times of Remembering · It's Not Your Job to Save the World · Keep on Rising “I’m a super-fan of Rebecca Campbell . . . Rebecca guides her reader to step into their authentic power so that they can live and lead at their highest potential.” —Gabrielle Bernstein, New York Times bestselling author of Miracles Now Rise Sister Rise is a transmission that calls the innate divine feminine wisdom to rise. It is about healing the insecurities, the fears, and the inherited patterns that stop people from trusting the Shakti (power) and wisdom (intuition) that effortlessly flows through them. It's about recognizing all of the ways we have been keeping ourselves contained and restrained in effort to dim to fit into a certain archetype. It’s about co-creating a whole new archetype—someone who does not keep themself small in order to make others feel more comfortable. Full of activations, spiritual tools, calls to action, contemplative questions, rituals, and confrontational exercises, this inspirational book teaches that it is safe to let Shakti rise, safe to trust your intuition, and safe to take leaps of faith—because in healing ourselves we are healing the world. “You have an ancient wisdom within you that is waiting for you to remember, hear, and heed it. These Rise Sister Rise calls to action have been carefully designed to assist you in reclaiming your voice, unbinding your power, unlocking your wisdom, unleashing your true nature, and aligning yourselves with the sacred flow of all of Life.” Rise Sister Rise.
