Try to Remember—Never Forget by Sandra Scheller Pdf

Meet Ruth Goldschmiedova Sax. She is standing next to the dress that my grandmother wore during the time she was in Oederan. She never took it off, and every week she would bend over and the Nazis would paint an X and stripe down her backside. The dress was initially given to her in Auschwitz. Ruth Goldschmiedova Saxs life story begins in Moravia in 1928, where she lived comfortably as an only child with her parents. At the age of eleven, the Nazis invaded Czechoslovakia, and life changed for everyone. By 1941, the family found themselves getting off a transport train in Theresienstadt, where Ruth was forced to grow up quickly. She was shaved to prevent lice infestation, her feet were wrapped in paper to keep them warm in the winter, and she witnessed the deaths of many. Separated from her father, she survived awful circumstances, only to be sent to Auschwitz in 1944, where she faced Dr. Mengele half a dozen times. Finally, with G-ds help and liberation, she was reunited in 1945 with her mother and father, a miracle within itself. Ruth later immigrated to America, where she married Kurt Sax, whom she had met at age seven. This memoir narrates the dramatic life circumstances that led her from her birthplace in central Czechoslovakia to three concentration camps and finally to her home in America. Future plans are to find a museum for this dress so that it can be displayed accordingly for all to see and to remind us to never forget.

Try to Remember by Iris Gomez Pdf

An award-winning poet and expert in US immigration and asylum law delivers a powerful novel about a daughter's attempt to sustain her family as her father struggles with his mental health. "Lyrical, poignant, and smart, as compassionate and hopeful as it is heartbreaking...a novel you will never forget." -- Jenna Blum, New York Times bestselling author of Those Who Save Us If she tries, Gabriela can almost remember when her father went off to work . . . when her mother wasn't struggling to undo the damage he caused . . . when a short temper didn't lead to physical violence. But Gabi cannot live in the past, not when one more outburst could jeopardize her family's future. So she trades the life of a normal Miami teenager for a career of carefully managing her father's delusions and guarding her mother's secrets. As Gabi navigates her family's twisting path of lies and revelations, relationships and loss, she finds moments of happiness in unexpected places. Ultimately Gabi must discover the strength she needs to choose what's right for her: serving her parents or a future of her own.

Sentiments by Michael Colavito Pdf

Sentiments is Michael Colavitos monument to the memories, both happy and sad, which have shaped his life. The dreams, the aspirations, the loves, the fantasies, all combine to form a dynamic reason that enables Mr. Colavito to fall in love with all aspects of life, intensely so, adding the aromatic flavors of feeling to his versesverses that always begin and end with love. Sentiments is a self portrait of the Poet. The delineations he cherishes, the nuances in which he glories: a childs smile, a ray of the sun, a pretty face, and always love:

U-Turn Killur by Teric Darken Pdf

Why is the moth attracted to the very glow that will kill it? A maniacal killer is preying upon a firefighter's family, stripping them from his life: one by one; piece by piece. It took every ounce of energy Lieutenant Gabe McLaughlin possessed in resisting the undertow of a mental breakdown as his best friend, Detective Jeff Spencer, told him the horrific news. And Jeff was fighting the same fight, against the same psychological beast, as he uttered the grisly details: Gabe's mother, Ira McLaughlin, had been butchered to death: Dissected... slowly. Apparently, the killer took pleasure in cutting off appendages- one section at a time- at each of the major joints in the extremities. A tourniquet had been applied preventing massive blood loss... the victim eventually succumbed to shock. As insult to injury, the killer had also etched a note into the victims torso: will U-turn and look the other way, or watch while I kill? -KiLLuR

Never to Forget by Milton Meltzer Pdf

Six million-- a number impossible to visualize. Six million Jews were killed in Europe between the years 1933 and 1945. What can that number mean to us today? We can that number mean to us today? We are told never to forget the Holocaust, but how can we remember something so incomprehensible? We can think, not of the numbers, the statistics, but of the people. For the families torn apart, watching mothers, fathers, children disappear or be slaughtered, the numbers were agonizingly comprehensible. One. Two. Three. Often more. Here are the stories of thode people, recorded in letters and diaries, and in the memories of those who survived. Seen through their eyes, the horror becomes real. We cannot deny it--and we can never forget. ‘Based on diaries, letters, songs, and history books, a moving account of Jewish suffering in Nazi Germany before and during World War II.’ —Best Books for Young Adults Committee (ALA). ‘A noted historian writes on a subject ignored or glossed over in most texts. . . . Now that youngsters are acquainted with the horrors of slavery, they are more prepared to consider the questions the Holocaust raises for us today.’ —Language Arts. ‘[An] extraordinarily fine and moving book.’ —NYT.

.將ace(王牌)錯發成ass(臀部),或將dad(爸爸)發成dead(死的),很奇怪;吃飽飯時,將full(飽的)錯發成fool(傻子)可能發生衝突;如果將met(遇到)發成mate(交配),後果更嚴重! . Do you want some coffee? . 是How’s it going?;降低成本不叫cost down;覺得不舒服得說not feel well;要求老闆加薪是get a raise;喝湯不用drink soup;貼文不能直用po;selfie是自拍、vape吸電子菸、自我隔離是self-isolation、封鎖要lockdown…… 美國小孩如果問媽媽:Can I go out?會被媽媽糾正為:May I go out?

Night by Elie Wiesel Pdf

A New Translation From The French By Marion Wiesel Born in Sighet, Transylvania, Elie Wiesel was a teenager when he and his family were taken from their home in 1944 and deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp, and then to Buchenwald. Night is the terrifying record of Elie Wiesel's memories of the death of his family, the death of his own innocence, and his despair as a deeply observant Jew confronting the absolute evil of man. This new translation by his wife and most frequent translator, Marion Wiesel, corrects important details and presents the most accurate rendering in English of Elie Wiesel's seminal work.
