Telangana People's Struggle and Its Lessons by Puccalapalli Sundarayya Pdf
Sri Putchalapalli Sundarayya (1 May 1913 - 19 May 1985) was a renowned national liberation fighter. He was one of the founders of the Communist Movement in India and an indefatigable fighter for the rights of toiling masses of India. He led the glorious Telangana peasant armed struggle in the 1940s against the despotic rule of Nizam of Hyderabad and liberated many from the shackles of servitude under Vetti. Sundarayya provides a detailed description of the intricacies - both decision-making and the execution of plans by the various guerilla squads. The book provides a ringside view of the movement of squads, the network of communications and the police terror. It highlights the movement, the years in the forests fighting the Nizam's forces and then the Indian army. It provides a wealth of detail and any account of the Telengana struggle is incomplete without reference to this authoritative work.
In November 1956, a unified Telugu-speaking state of Andhra Pradesh came into being. In February 2014, Parliament bifurcated it to create two Telugu-speaking states: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Old History, New Geography provides the context, text and subtext to the bifurcation, which continues to be contentious and controversial. Jairam Ramesh makes an ideal commentator, given that he was a key member of the group of ministers (GoM) set up by the United Progressive Alliance government in October 2013 to prepare the legislation for the bifurcation. For the next seven months, he became the GoM's prime mover and its public face and was thus always in the crossfire as it strove to balance competing claims and differing demands to ensure a just and equitable outcome. Blending sharp commentary and humour and drawing on his meticulously maintained personal records, parliamentary debates and a variety of thus far undisclosed primary sources, Ramesh recounts this momentous event as it unfolded. He brings to the Andhra bifurcation story the kind of authority and authenticity only an insider can. This singularly important book is a narrative of history told first-hand by someone who was not just a witness to it but one who actually shaped it. Combining an intensely personal account with in-depth scholarship, Old History, New Geography is a must-read not only for academia but, crucially, also for the general reader seeking an understanding of contemporary India.

Alexander Kotov's trilogy, of which this is the second volume and now available in digital format for the first time, marks a landmark in chess literature. For the first time, a leading player managed to tackle the important elements of chess mastery in a methodical way which all chess players could understand, spiced with insight and colourful observation. Furthermore, his ideas and approach are as relevant to players today as they were when the books were first published. Alexander Kotov was one of the strongest players of the immediate post-war period, twice reaching the Candidates stage of the World Championship. He was also one of the leading Soviet trainers but is primarily remembered for his trilogy of classic works on chess coaching, of which Think Like a Grandmaster, one of the best-selling chess books of all time, was the first volume, and Play Like a Grandmaster the second.
A stereotype image of Nara Chandrababu Naidu has been formed in the last 40 years. His story is remarkable at every level. But often questions, which is the important story? The one where he evolves into one of the extraordinary leaders in Indian politics over four decades? Or that of an ordinary man from a farming family who worked his way to the top by keeping his family and political party together? That which reflects his political acumen, intellect, and hardwork? Or the one that unveils the person who introduced Andhra Pradesh to India? This book attempts to show how Naidu has been a quintessential survivor in Indian politics. This book analyses how Naidu's ability to combine politics and governance has touched every aspect of Indian domestic and foreign policy, from the struggle for social, technological, economic and administrative reforms to creating world-class institutions. It establishes the fact that Naidu, today, is a symbol and an embodiment of many Indias - modern, progressive, rural and cultural.
Vehicle routing problems, among the most studied in combinatorial optimization, arise in many practical contexts (freight distribution and collection, transportation, garbage collection, newspaper delivery, etc.). Operations researchers have made significant developments in the algorithms for their solution, and Vehicle Routing: Problems, Methods, and Applications, Second Edition reflects these advances. The text of the new edition is either completely new or significantly revised and provides extensive and complete state-of-the-art coverage of vehicle routing by those who have done most of the innovative research in the area; it emphasizes methodology related to specific classes of vehicle routing problems and, since vehicle routing is used as a benchmark for all new solution techniques, contains a complete overview of current solutions to combinatorial optimization problems. It also includes several chapters on important and emerging applications, such as disaster relief and green vehicle routing.
