Multiple Access Technology Towards Ubiquitous Networks by Neng Ye,Xiangming Li,Kai Yang,Jianping An Pdf

This book investigates the multiuser communication and its key technology—multiple access technology, as well as transceiving design methods. Multiple access methods toward B5G and 6G currently allows the superposition transmissions of multiuser signals with controllable mutual interference. By deploying advanced multiuser detector, current technology significantly enhances the connectivity, improves the spectral efficiency and simplifies the signaling interactions. Considering that the major challenge of current multiple access technology is the design of transceiver due to the overlapped and distorted signals from multiple users, we analyze the promising candidate multiple access schemes and then develop some sights on how to formulate the transmit signals and how to achieve efficient symbol recovery. Specifically, the incorporation of constellation rotation, rate splitting and deep learning techniques in enhancing the transmission efficiency of multiple access technology are considered.

Towards Sustainable Society on Ubiquitous Networks by Makoto Oya,Ryuya Uda,Chizuko Yasunobu Pdf

The massive growth of the Internet has made an enormous amount of infor- tion available to us. However, it is becoming very difficult for users to acquire an - plicable one. Therefore, some techniques such as information filtering have been - troduced to address this issue. Recommender systems filter information that is useful to a user from a large amount of information. Many e-commerce sites use rec- mender systems to filter specific information that users want out of an overload of - formation [2]. For example, Amazon. com is a good example of the success of - commender systems [1]. Over the past several years, a considerable amount of research has been conducted on recommendation systems. In general, the usefulness of the recommendation is measured based on its accuracy [3]. Although a high - commendation accuracy can indicate a user's favorite items, there is a fault in that - ly similar items will be recommended. Several studies have reported that users might not be satisfied with a recommendation even though it exhibits high recommendation accuracy [4]. For this reason, we consider that a recommendation having only accuracy is - satisfactory. The serendipity of a recommendation is an important element when c- sidering a user's long-term profits. A recommendation that brings serendipity to users would solve the problem of “user weariness” and would lead to exploitation of users' tastes. The viewpoint of the diversity of the recommendation as well as its accuracy should be required for future recommender systems.

A Survey on Today's Smartphone Usage by Tobias Himmelsbach Pdf

Diploma Thesis from the year 2011 in the subject Computer Science - Miscellaneous, grade: 2,3, Technical University of Berlin (Agententechnologien in betrieblichen Anwendungen), language: English, abstract: The smartphone market is evolving rapidly, irrespective of the well-known spread within the business sector. In recent years the average users tend to replace their traditional mobile phones, PDAs and Palms with smartphones. These devices have become a pervasive part of everyday life. Dealing with huge amounts of data, the mobile device's and application's demand for certain security standards cannot be underestimated. In recent studies the individual user's needs in terms of technical features, applications etc. have not been addressed and analyzed properly. To capture the problem in its full extent it is vital to understand the user's expectations. Besides, the usage patterns have to be described especially against the background of security aspects. As mentioned before, recent analyzes did not specifically ask what the user expects from a smartphone. Hence, the main objective of this work is to get a broad picture on how smartphones are used today and what users expect, taking into consideration security aspects.. An international web-based online survey was designed and performed to measure and analyze users' behaviour when using smartphones, with the aim of finding out what they want and expect from a smartphone. The main goals were to identify user needs in the context of smartphones, to analyze their knowledge and acquisition to security aspects and to get significant data about the user's behaviour. The main findings of the survey are that on the one hand, most of the users want a smartphone to provide classic mobile phone features, such as performing phone calls, writing messages or storing contacts. On the other hand they want a smartphone to provide mobile internet access, navigation features, multimedia aspects, a comfortable usability and a good look and feel/design. The brand, price and battery performance plays a minor role for them. With respect to security aspects, most of the users have a good knowledge about security in general, pointing out that the security of the smartphone is a very important aspect for them. The obtained results can be provided as recommendations to smartphone vendors, application developers and carriers, who can use them in product portfolio management and product development
