What's the Point in Making More Lemonade? by LaDonna Murphy Pdf

This book is for those of you who may be going through trials, challenges, and testing seasons. You may even want to give up due to life’s circumstances. Many of us can feel helpless, stressed, depressed, confused, afraid, unsatisfied, lonely, angry, and hopeless at times because of all of the challenges around us. I have written this book because the majority of my life has been a challenge. I am blessed with lemon trees! What do you do with a normal fruit tree? You eat the fruit or make something out of it, right? Well, I have enough lemonade to feed many. And I am still here. I can be a testimony to others, and so can you. Therefore, if anyone is thinking about the selfish act of suicide, I will just say, “Don’t do it!” It will be too late to say you wish you had not. Think about all those who you will hurt and leave behind. That alone should frighten you! Ask for God’s intervention immediately and then seek other counsel. After you read this book, you may be able to identify with some of my lemons, and then you can write about your own. Whatever the situation is, face it and deal with it, and you will get through it. Life is full of cycles and seasons, like the weather; therefore, this too shall pass. If giving up is not an option, then what are the alternatives? Start with chapter 1, and make a glass of lemonade! “Facing it, always facing it, that’s the way we get through. Face it.” Joseph Conrad

Anatomy of a Business by Sasha Galbraith Pdf

From the birth of international trade along such exotic trails as the Silk Road to the economics of running a lemonade stand to a day in the life of a CEO, Anatomy of a Business traces the evolution of modern business practices and how they are applied today, in enterprises of all shapes and sizes. Through dozens of examples and illustrations, Anatomy of a Business defines the major types of business (including corporation, partnership, privately-held company, and non-profit) and then metaphorically takes the roof off an office building to peer inside, explaining how each business function, department, and unit—from marketing to finance, executive to human resource management—works. Clearly explaining popular theories and approaches to management; highlighting contemporary issues (such as executive pay and corporate ethics); and featuring such elements as charts and diagrams, interviews, sidebars, illustrations, a glossary, references, career resources, and index, Anatomy of a Business is a colorful introduction to business life for anyone researching or considering a career in business. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary contains no less than a dozen definitions for business, including commercial or mercantile activity, dealings and transactions, and an immediate task or objective. Anatomy of a Business considers these and many other dimensions of business as it takes the reader on a tour of the corporate world. From the birth of international trade along such exotic trails as the Silk Road to the economics of running a lemonade stand to a day in the life of a CEO, Anatomy of a Business traces the evolution of modern business practices and how they are applied today, in enterprises of every shape and size, from the one-person garage operation to the multi-national conglomerate. Through dozens of examples and illustrations, Anatomy of a Business first defines the major types of business (including corporation, partnership, privately-held company, and non-profit) and then metaphorically takes the roof off an office building to peer inside, explaining how each business function, department, and unit—from marketing to finance, executive to human resource management—works, asking such questions as: What does this department do? Why is it vital to the business? What positions and roles do people play? What type of education, knowledge, or experience do they need to succeed? Clearly explaining popular theories and approaches to management; highlighting contemporary issues (such as executive pay and corporate ethics); and featuring such elements as charts and diagrams, interviews, sidebars, illustrations, a glossary, references, career resources, and index, Anatomy of a Business is a colorful introduction to business life for anyone researching or considering a career in business.

Bee Fearless: Dream Like a Kid by Mikaila Ulmer Pdf

A business memoir from fifteen year-old lemonade entrepreneur and one of TIME Magazine's Top 30 Most Influential Teens, Mikaila Ulmer, and her advice for life and business. When Mikaila Ulmer was four, she was stung by a bee--twice in one week. She was terrified of going outside, so her parents encouraged her to learn more about bees so she wouldn't be afraid. It worked. Mikaila didn't just learn what an important role bees play in our ecosystem, but she also learned bees are endangered, and set out to save them. She started by selling cups of lemonade in front of her house and donating the small proceeds to organizations dedicated to bee conservation. When she realized the more lemonade she sold, the more bees she could help, Me & the Bees Lemonade was born. Now she sells her lemonade across the country. From meetings with Fortune 500 CEOs, to securing a deal on Shark Tank, to even visiting the Obama White House, Mikaila's lemonade and passion for bee conservation have taken her far. In Bee Fearless, part memoir, part business guide, Mikaila--now fifteen--shares her personal journey and special brand of mindful entrepreneurship and offers helpful tips and guidance for young readers interested in pursuing their own ventures, instilling in them the bee-lief that they can bee fearless and achieve their dreams too.
