WHITE ROSES by JESSIE MYLES MCCAA Pdf

White Roses is of a collection of creative works written by Dr. McCaa over a period of years for the glorification of the Lord. The poems are original except for the entries made by Mr. Booker T. Myles, Jr. and Kyah and Krystyanna (brother and granddaughters) who have given her permission to include their created works in this book. The title of the book, White Roses came to her after seeking God for a title. For some, white roses symbolize the death of a love one. But God revealed to her that it was not a sorrowful remembrance of loved ones. With her love for arranged white roses and the guidance of her Lord, the title of the book became a reality. The writer indicates that the remembrance of loved ones should not be just set for a particular day. This book is in remembrance of all the loved ones who have gone on to be with the Lord. The written Words of our Savior add meaning to why we still have hope in a world that is plagued with selfishness and greed. White Roses lead us to a quiet place of harmony. It is the author’s desire that each page brings the reader closer to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mrs. McCaa would love to have comments sent to her via email about this book. This book as well as her first book, Poems of Inspiration (and future books) will continue to help support her scholarship fund that was started over fifteen years ago. That is, the Jones, Jones, Vidal and Durham Book scholarship Fund. This fund is in memory of the Jones family, (her mother’s family), one of the best musicians that ever lived, her adopted brother and college friend, Audrey Jones; her big Italian/black adopted brother, and also outstanding musician and college friend, Miguel Vidal; and her daughter’s best friend Cortez Durham, who was like a son. Cortez was serving in the armed forces when his Black Hawk helicopter crashed. Your purchase of this book will help students with the purchase of books while in college. On My Aunt's Shallow Grave White Roses Have Already Bloomed by Maria Mitsora Pdf

A collection of short stories by an acclaimed contemporary Greek writer, reminiscent of Lydia Davis and Jenny Offill This collection assembles sixteen of Maria Mitsora's short stories in what adds up to be a retrospective of the author's work, spanning forty years. Moving across the urban netherworld of Athens to imagined Latin American towns and science-fiction dystopias, Mitsora animates the alternatingly dark and revelatory aspects of the human psyche, depicting a world in which her protagonists are caught between reality and myth, predestination and chance, rationality and twisted dreams. Mitsora led a generation of writers whose work articulated major transitions in the Greek literary scene, from 1970s historical and political sensibilities shaped in response to the military Junta to a contemporary focus on a fragmented, multicultural world. Her consistent experimentation with the short story form--a dominant genre in Greek prose writing since the nineteenth century--ranges from psychologically dark, surrealist work to more recent reflective and poetic writings.

White Rose by R. Garcia y Robertson Pdf

R. Garcia y Robertson's delightful saga of time travel and romance, which began with Knight Errant and continued through Lady Robyn, grows even more irresistible as Robyn Stafford, a savvy Hollywood exec mystically transplanted to 15th century England, works overtime to secure happiness and true love amidst the fratricidal madness of the War of the Roses. Once a thoroughly modern Californian (and former Miss Rodeo Montana), Robyn has come to savor her new life as Lady Robyn of Pontefract, betrothed to the dashing young Edward Plantagenet, Earl of March, Duke of York, and heir to the English throne. Temporarily stranded back in 21st century, she wastes no time getting back to 1461, albeit with a few unexpected bumps along the way. But her troubles hardly end when she makes it back to Merrie Olde England and the arms of her beloved knight errant. War is in the air, with a rebellious Tudor army challenging Edward's forces at home, and a French invasion force gathering in the north, preparing to march on London. Having witnessed firsthand the deadly realities of medieval politics, Robyn is in no hurry to see Edward claim the throne, but, like it or not, he is the heir apparent, and Robyn must use all her wits to keep their love alive -- even if it means inventing tabloid journalism several centuries early! Look out, London! Lady Robyn has returned, so the Middle Ages had best mind its manners.

Encyclopedia of the Wars of the Roses by John A. Wagner Pdf

This authoritative A–Z encyclopedia of the Wars of the Roses provides accurate and concise descriptions of the major battles and events and the principal historical figures and issues involved. For centuries, historians agreed about the Wars of the Roses, seeing them as four decades of medieval darkness and chaos, when the royal family and the nobility destroyed themselves fighting for control of the royal government. Even Shakespeare got into the act, dramatizing, popularizing, and darkening this viewpoint in eight plays. Today, based on new research, this has become one of the most hotly controversial periods in English history. Historians disagree on fundamental issues, such as dates and facts, as well as interpretation. Most argue that the effects of the wars were not as widespread as once thought, and some see the traditional view of the era as merely Tudor propaganda. A few even claim that England during the late 15th century was "a society organized for peace." Historian John A. Wagner brings readers up to date on the latest research and thinking about this crucial period of England's history.
