Wolf's Hook by Rodney Marshall Pdf

It was a sunny Saturday lunchtime in June 1944. Most of the inhabitants of a sleepy village situated in the 'Free Zone' of war-ravaged France were sitting down to a leisurely meal. Without warning, an attachment of Das Reich soldiers (the elite force of the Nazi's Waffen-SS division) arrived. Hours later, 642 defenceless people had been massacred; their homes were smouldering ruins. From these embers emerged life-affirming stories of survival as individuals defied machine-guns, snipers, explosives and burning buildings to escape the clutches of the deadly Wolf's Hook (the Das Reich emblem). Wolf's Hook is a factionalised account of the Das Reich attack on a hillside village. It recaptures the essence of what happened that day, using four first-person narrative strands: a waiter, a young boy, an SS soldier and a grandmother. Through their eyes we see the terrifying day unravel. Not suitable for readers under 12.

Wolf Hook by Michael Wallace Pdf

Jim Heydrich is the Canadian-born nephew of one of the most feared men in the Gestapo. When his family returns to Germany just before the war, Jim arrives in the Third Reich as a young, sensitive theater student, both protected by and encumbered by his famous relation. Resisting an invitation to join the Nazis, he instead finds himself a member of an English-language theater troupe working in Occupied Europe. Unbeknownst to Jim, the leaders of the theater troupe, Nigel Burnside and his sister Margaret, are not the English fascists they appear, but members of the British Secret Service, using the theater troupe to recruit spies from among the Anglophile German officers who come to their productions. Disillusioned with both sides of the war, Jim is trying to defect to neutral Ireland when he stumbles into one of Nigel and Margaret's most closely held secrets--a Hungarian physicist they are smuggling out of Europe. While trying to extricate himself from this unwelcome knowledge, he both manages to draw the attention of the Gestapo and to convince the British Secret Service that he is a Nazi spy, a threat to their plans who must be eliminated.

The Sabbath in Puritan New England by Alice Morse Earle Pdf

The early meeting-houses in country parishes were seldom painted, such outward show being thought vain and extravagant. In the middle of the eighteenth century paint became cheaper and more plentiful, and a gay rivalry in church-decoration sprang up. One meeting-house had to be as fine as its neighbor. Votes were taken, "rates were levied," gifts were asked in every town to buy "colour" for the meeting-house.

Dutch Waffen-SS Legion & Brigade 1941–44 by Massimiliano Afiero Pdf

Goebbels' 1941 propaganda campaign to present Germany's invasion of the USSR as a battle for European civilization against Asian barbarism convinced many men in occupied 'Germanic' European countries, such as Scandinavia and the Low Countries, to volunteer to fight on the Russian Front. One of the strongest national legions of such a kind was raised in the Netherlands, where it was supported by a large pro-Nazi movement led by Anton Mussert. The 3,000-man Netherlands Volunteer Legion fought on the Leningrad front in regimental strength, from the Red Army's winter 1941/42 counter-offensive until April 1943. The survivors were then reinforced to form a 5,500-strong Panzergrenadier Brigade, and after anti-partisan service in Croatia, they returned to Army Group North as part of Steiner's III SS Panzer Korps, fighting in the most arduous battles of 1943–44 until driven back into Pomerania. In the final months of the war the division formed the nucleus of the new 23rd SS Volunteer Panzergrenadier Division 'Nederland'. In this illustrated study of the Dutch Waffen-SS Legion and Brigade, specialist Massimiliano Afiero explores the full history of this important formation from its establishment in 1941 until it was incorporated into the 'Nederland' Division in 1944. Contemporary photographs and full-colour illustrations support the text and reveal key details including aspects of uniform and insignia.

Vril: Secrets of the Black Sun by David Hatcher Childress Pdf

Childress reveals numerous secrets of the Black Sun in this final volume in his series about the Fourth Reich. David Childress, popular author and star of the History Channel show Ancient Aliens, unveils the amazing story of the German flying disks, designed and built during WWII. It was not until 1989 that a German researcher named Ralf Ettl, living in London, received an anonymous packet of photographs and documents concerning the planning and development of at least three types of unusual craft—including the Vril, Haunebu and Andromeda. Ettl went on to make several television documentaries based on the material in the packet and released most of the documents and photos to researchers in Austria and other parts of Europe. What the Ralf Ettl document dump shows us is what many have suspected for a long time: that WWII did not end in the manner in which we have been told, and a remnant of the Nazi military—particularly the SS—continued to operate aircraft and submarines around the world in the decades after the end of the war. This volume closes with how the SS operates today in the Ukraine and how the Wagner second in command, Dimitry Utkin, killed in the fiery crash of Yevgeny Prigozhin’s private jet between Moscow and St. Petersburg in August of 2023, had SS tattoos on his shoulders and often signed his name with the SS runes. Chapters include: Secrets of the Black Sun; The Extra-Territorial Reich; The Rise of the SS; The SS Never Surrendered; Secret Submarines, Antarctica & Argentina; Secret of the Vril; The Marconi Connection; Spectre, the SS, and 007; Yellow Submarine; Ukraine and the Battalion of the Black Sun; more. Includes an 8-page color section. Over 120 photographs and diagrams.

How to Become a Published Author by Jeff Scot Philips Pdf

This book is packed with practical advice, specific examples, and tons of free resources to help you become a published author. You will learn: - What makes a marketable book concept, why yours probably isn't (yet), and how to fix it - The two-step formula that I & other traditionally published authors used to adapt a book concept to the market, and how to apply this strategy to your book (w/links to a free video training) - I walk you through building a book proposal (with examples), plus a few tricks to REALLY make your pitch stand out - How to construct a query letter, line-by-line - Specifically where to find the perfect agent for your book, and how to see when agents are reading your email so you'll know when to follow up - Tons of other little tips & secrets to help you land a literary agent and get a publishing deal I remember how frustrating it was when I was trying to figure out how to get an agent to pay attention to me. I just wanted someone to give me a chance. There were lots of blogs and other books offering advice—mostly what not to do—but nobody could explain why my book wasn’t getting picked up. And they definitely weren’t explaining what I could to do to fix it. It was as if everyone who’d crossed to the other side and become a published author, then burned the bridge behind them and said “good luck to the rest of you.” It was a rough, lonely, and expensive road to getting my book published. And I don’t want you to have to go through the same thing. That's why this book is free. I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that the process of getting traditionally published was about the most amazing experience I’ve ever had. Upon getting published, my book was in every major bookstore in the U.S., as well as Canada, the U.K., and Australia. I was booked on national television and appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers—everything from Good Morning America, The Doctors, and Business Insider, to The New York Post, Fox News, and Vice. And I was giving countless interviews for conventional radio shows, Siruis XM, and podcasts. And I wrote this book to help you achieve the same. My goal with this book is to provide as much value as I can, show you all the steps, answer any questions, provide tons of free resources, and hopefully overdeliver in every way possible, so that your book will attract an agent, and help you become a traditionally published author. See you on the inside! — Jeff Scot Philips

Extremism Behind Bars by Alena Lochmannová,Ondřej Kolář Pdf
