The Whole Life by Eliza Huie,Esther Smith Pdf

Many of us live at a pace that is impossible to keep. Unrelenting busyness might feel necessary, but it can lead to chronic stress and burnout that hinders our love for God and others. Instead of adding more to our long to-do list, counselors Eliza Huie and Esther Smith guide readers in how to think biblically about their whole life. They give Christians a framework for biblical self-care that will help them live for Christ by stewarding the spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical aspects of life. The Whole Life: 52 Weeks of Biblical Self-Care outlines a balanced life of stewardship, offering practical strategies for Christians to grow in honoring God and caring for others. The authors focus on six key areas: faith, health, purpose, community, work, and rest. Each chapter addresses a specific topic and guides readers in thinking biblically about their whole life. Breaking down the misconceptions that self-care is not biblical, The Whole Life reveals that caring for yourself doesn’t mean you are being selfish or lazy. Instead, it’s a way of stewarding every part of your life for God’s glory and the good of others. Contrary to what our culture might lead us to believe, exhaustion and burnout are not unavoidable pitfalls of a faithful Christian life. Instead, they are warning signs that we need to turn to God for daily help. This book will reorient readers to the core value of resting their heart, mind, and strength in Christ.

The Musical Thought and Spiritual Lives of Heinrich Schenker and Arnold Schoenberg by Matthew Arndt Pdf

This book examines the origin, content, and development of the musical thought of Heinrich Schenker and Arnold Schoenberg. One of the premises is that Schenker’s and Schoenberg’s inner musical lives are inseparable from their inner spiritual lives. Curiously, Schenker and Schoenberg start out in much the same musical-spiritual place, yet musically they split while spiritually they grow closer. The reception of Schenker’s and Schoenberg’s work has sidestepped this paradox of commonality and conflict, instead choosing to universalize and amplify their conflict. Bringing to light a trove of unpublished material, Arndt argues that Schenker’s and Schoenberg’s conflict is a reflection of tensions within their musical and spiritual ideas. They share a particular conception of the tone as an ideal sound realized in the spiritual eye of the genius. The tensions inherent in this largely psychological and material notion of the tone and this largely metaphysical notion of the genius shape both their musical divergence on the logical (technical) level in theory and composition, including their advocacy of the Ursatz versus twelvetone composition, and their spiritual convergence, including their embrace of Judaism. These findings shed new light on the musical and philosophical worlds of Schenker and Schoenberg and on the profound artistic and spiritual questions with which they grapple.

Conscious Living Made Easy by Robert Southard Pdf

Conscious Living Made Easy will guide you to living a full and rewarding life, a life without regret. It will help you to take control and responsibility for living life in the present, appreciating life as you live it and to set a realistic path in life for yourself. It will guide you to examining your beliefs and integrate those most beneficial to your path into your spirituality. Part of conscious living is to acknowledge that death will come. As children, we think we are immortal. Even as we get older, we think it is someone else that will die, not us. Our death is far off and we have plenty of time to do whatever we want. To live consciously is to accept that death is a part of life and plan for it, while not allowing it to dominate our life at any age. Bob Southard, after his own near death encounter, shares his experience and offers his thoughts, beliefs and meditations to help you plan for and live life in a conscious way.

Metamorphosis through Conscious Living by Ingo B. Jahrsetz,Lindy McMullin Pdf

Metamorphosis, the theme of this book, derives from the Ancient Greek language and refers to a transformative process that often includes disintegration and reintegration, on the route to conscious living with self, community and the world. This collection proposes that engagement with the sacred is what makes research and practice transpersonal, the sacred ‘other’ that lives both within and beyond us as individuals and unique cultures. The transpersonal approach is distinctive in that it regards the potential metamorphosis of all those involved in research and professional practice a core value. This volume engages the audience in professional, practical, as well as inquiry-related topics that reflect the diverse nature of the transpersonal studies field, and extend an experience of metamorphosis to the reader. The book moves scholarship forward in an innovative and creative way with relevant themes that not only honour the sacred, but lend a transpersonal paradigm to scientific and professional methods and models.

Children of a Living Universe by Paul Von Ward Pdf

Children of a Living Universe is a call to action unlike any other you may have encountered. According to cultural historian and cosmologist Paul Von Ward, the time has come for human beings to reassess just about everything we believe about our ancestry and global past. Drawing upon forgotten prehistory, clues from the world’s esoteric traditions, and new research in consciousness, Von Ward asserts we are more powerful beings than either science or religion has led us to believe. He exhorts us to embrace a bold, new model of human existence, one that explains our celestial origins, multidimensional capacities, and destiny as conscious co-creators of a self-learning and self-correcting universe. With insight and clarity, Von Ward envisions that the discovery of our true legacy will inspire a global renaissance of inner knowing and unprecedented social progress. He sees humanity assuming its place as part of a universal community of conscious beings, and fulfilling our potential to serve as galactic leaders. Children of a Living Universe is a brilliant guide to this new and essential process in human spiritual evolution. Previously published as Our Solarian Legacy.
