ADHD Pro by Robert Merki Pdf

"ADHD Pro is an insightful & interesting book clearly written by someone with personal experience. It was so accurate it was scary." Why does productivity always come with anxiety? Why do you have random bursts of hyperfocus? Why can't you finish any projects you start? Why can't you get focused on command? Why do you get distracted so easily? Are you just lazy? Is it possible for people with ADHD to be productive and happy at the same time? You're not lazy or stupid, you just have ADHD. It's a neurodevelopmental disorder with pros and cons. You can be both focused & productive without giving up your happiness. You just need to learn to use your brain properly. Countless professionals have built successful careers, businesses, and projects despite their ADHD diagnosis, and you can too. ADHD Pro is a deeply personal book that exposes the struggles of having ADHD in a society that revolves around hustle culture and "work-ethic". After over a dozen interviews with successful professionals, Robert Merki turns this notion on its head by introducing a better strategy to increase and manage your productivity without sacrificing your happiness. You don't have to live a life of painful "discipline" and "hard work" just to build and complete projects. All you need is a healthy & sustainable strategy, and the desire to understand your own brain.

Neuroinflammation, Gut-Brain Axis and Immunity in Neuropsychiatric Disorders by Yong-Ku Kim Pdf

This book reviews the relationship between cytokines, glia, and neurons in the pathophysiology of neuropsychiatric disorders and examines the mechanisms of action of the drugs used for the treatment of these disorders. Increasing evidence has suggested that glia perform important roles in various brain functions, but much remains to be learned about these crucial cells and their interplay with neurons. In addition, a better understanding of the interaction between inflammatory mediators, such as cytokines, and the activated immune response will be of critical importance for the development of new therapeutic strategies. These key areas are the focus of this book, which documents the latest research findings in the field. Evidence is provided for the role of inflammation-induced toxic metabolites from the tryptophan pathway in a wide range of neuropsychiatric disorders, including depression, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer's disease. In presenting state of the art knowledge on the interactions between cytokines, glia, and neurons, the book will help to pave the way for the development of novel targets for the prevention and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders.

Attention, Genes, and ADHD by Florence Levy,David A. Hay Pdf

Recent advances in genetic methodology are providing important aetiological and developmental information to the growing literature on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and related conditions. Attention, Genes and ADHD is the first book to review and integrate both behaviour-genetic and molecular-genetic advances in this area. It brings together international researchers to show how modern techniques may be applied to the investigation of ADHD, and reviews current findings in the field of ADHD and related conditions. The book looks at the application of behaviour genetic approaches to twin studies, and reviews diagnostic to ADHD, the relationships between reading, spelling and ADHD, and family and genetic influences on speech and speech and language. Chapters go on to consider the overlaps between ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorder and to explore the environmental and genetic influences among these disorders. The neurobiological and genetic relationship between ADHD and Tourette's Disorder is also examined. The book reviews recent advances in molecular genetics - in particular a discussion of Fragile X as a model for a single single gene effects on ADHD, and the application of genetic methods and approaches to the study of candidate genes. Finally, the implications for education and intervention are discussed, and current and future roles of gentic studies of ADHD are explored, as well as implications of the sequencing of the human genome for child psychiatry.

Debunking ADHD by Michael W. Corrigan Pdf

The time has come for Debunking ADHD and exposing how this invented disorder created to drug children does not exist. Despite unanimous agreement that no test exists to identify ADHD, 6.4 million American children are labeled ADHD. To make matters worse, approximately two-thirds of those children diagnosed ADHD are prescribed drugs with many dangerous side effects, which include developing more serious mental disorders and death. After six decades of marketing stimulants and scaring parents into thinking something is seriously wrong with their highly creative, energetic, and communicative children, ADHD drug manufacturers still claim they have no idea what ADHD drugs actually do to children's brains. They make such claims when research shows ADHD drugs cause permanent brain damage in lab animals. How can children reach their full potential, if they are drugged? How can they dream about achieving greatness and release their imagination and creativity when they are drugged every day, year after year, to do the opposite? This book provides you evidence to say no to ADHD and gives 10 Reasons to Stop Drugging Kids for Acting Like Kids!

Current Oculomotor Research by Wolfgang Becker,Heiner Deubel,Thomas Mergner Pdf

This volume contains the proceedings of the Ninth European Conference on Eye Movements (ECEM 9), held in Ulm, Germany, on September 23-26, 1997. ECEM 9 con tinued a series of conferences initiated by Rudolf Groner of Bern, Switzerland, in 1981 which, from its very beginning, has brought together scientists from very diverse fields with a common interest in eye movements. About 40 of the papers presented at ECEM 9 have been selected for presentation in full length while others are rendered in condensed form. There is a broad spectrum of motives why people have become involved in, and fas cinated by, eye movement research. Neuroscientists have been allured by the prospect of understanding anatomical findings, single unit recordings, and the sequels of experimental lesions in terms of the clearly defined system requirements and the well documented be havioural repertoire of the oculomotor system. Others have been attracted by the richness of this repertoire and its dependence on an intricate hierarchy of factors spanning from "simple" reflexes to visual pattern recognition and spatio-temporal prediction. Neurolo gists, neuro-ophthalmologists and neuro-otologists have long standing experience with eye movements as sensitive indicators of lesions in the brain stem, the midbrain, and the cere bellum. By studying oculomotor malfunctions they have made, and are continuing to make, important contributions to our understanding of oculomotor functions.

Is It You, Me, or Adult A.D.D.? by Gina Pera Pdf

Winner of four national book awards! Revised First Edition, 2022 Is It You, Me, or Adult ADHD? has helped thousands of readers worldwide to understand how this highly variable syndrome affects them. Professionals and couples who have elevated their lives with its wisdom recommend it to others. In this highly endorsed, clearly written, and comprehensive guide, Gina Pera guides you in making sense of your own Adult ADHD Roller Coaster. She helps you to: —View ADHD as a variable syndrome affecting individuals, not clones —Realize how a later-in-life ADHD diagnosis creates additional issues —Revise misinterpretations of symptoms, forged long ago, that can thwart progress now —Heal poor coping responses and dysfunctional interaction cycles, as individuals and couples —Implement practical supports to completing routine tasks and reaching long-term goals, with teamwork! —Appreciate how poorly managed ADHD can also negatively affect the spouses and other loved ones. —Delve into "denial's" dual nature — physiological and psychological — and reach through it —Adopt proven approaches that remain extremely rare in clinical settings The science has been clear since 1994, when Adult ADHD was declared a medical diagnosis. Still, the public harbors misconceptions, and that means millions suffer needlessly. That includes millions of couples who can't understand why their lives together are so hard—often despite many attempts at therapy. The simple truth is: Everyone knows someone with adult ADHD. Yet we often misattribute the symptoms to anxiety, depression, or even laziness, selfishness, “addictive personality,” or moodiness. Some assume that ADHD means "little boys with ants in their pants." In fact, childhood hyperactivity goes "underground" as the person matures, resulting in a mentally restless state. Meticulously researched and written by Gina Pera, Is It You, Me, or Adult ADHD? helps you recognizing the behaviors where you least expect them and developing compassion for everyone wrestling with unrecognized ADHD symptoms. It also offers: —Explanations from preeminent experts —Plenty of real-life details —Easy-to-understand, detailed advice on the best treatment options and practical solutions. The revolutionary message is one of hope for millions of people—and a joyous opportunity for a better life.
