Algebraic Identification of Smart Systems by Natalia A. Serdyukova,Vladimir I. Serdyukov Pdf

This book is a continuation of our recently published book “Algebraic formalization of smart systems. Theory and practice.” It incorporates a new concept of quasi-fractal algebraic systems, based on A.I. Maltsev’s theory of algebraic systems and the theory of fractals developed by Benoit Mandelbrot, to investigate smart systems in more detail. The main tool used in the book, quasi-fractal algebraic systems, helps us to see smart systems in more detail by adding new factors, which e.g. make it possible to describe the previously indivisible elements of the initial model of factors. The techniques presented include fixed-point theorem, theorems of group theory, theory of Boolean algebras, and Erdös-Renyi algorithms. Given its focus, the book is intended for anyone interested in smart system theory.

Algebraic Formalization of Smart Systems by Natalia Serdyukova,Vladimir Serdyukov Pdf

This book reveals the general laws of the theory of smart systems with the help of a very powerful and expressive language of algebraic formalization. It also shows how this language can be used to substantiate practical results in the field of smart systems, which previously had only an empirical justification. Further, it proposes a translation of the theory of smart systems from verbal language to a much more expressive language of algebraic formalization, allowing the laws of the theory of smart systems to be seen in a different light. In 1937 L. Bertalanffy proposed the concept of an algebraic system and the development of a mathematical apparatus for describing systems. In the 1970s, A.I. Mal'tsev developed a theory of algebraic systems connecting algebra and logic for studying algebraic and logical objects. In the 1990s, the concept of purities by predicates was introduced by one of the authors, and the book includes some of its applications. The concept, which is based on the theory of algebraic systems, allows clarification of the connections between quantitative and qualitative analysis of a system. The book is intended for readers who use elements of artificial intelligence in their work.

Implementing Polytope Projects for Smart Systems by Octavian Iordache Pdf

This book presents a domain of extreme industrial and scientific interest: the study of smart systems and structures. It presents polytope projects as comprehensive physical and cognitive architectures that support the investigation, fabrication and implementation of smart systems and structures. These systems feature multifunctional components that can perform sensing, control, and actuation. In light of the fact that devices, tools, methodologies and organizations based on electronics and information technology for automation, specific to the third industrial revolution, are increasingly reaching their limits, it is essential that smart systems be implemented in industry. Polytope projects facilitate the utilization of smart systems and structures as key elements of the fourth industrial revolution. The book begins by presenting polytope projects as a reference architecture for cyber-physical systems and smart systems, before addressing industrial process synthesis in Chapter 2. Flow-sheet trees, cyclic separations and smart configurations for multi-component separations are discussed here. In turn, Chapter 3 highlights periodic features for drug delivery systems and networks of chemical reactions, while Chapter 4 applies conditioned random walks to polymers and smart materials structures. Chapter 5 examines self-assembly and self-reconfiguration at different scales from molecular to micro systems. Smart devices and technologies are the focus of chapter 6. Modular micro reactor systems and timed automata are examined in selected case studies. Chapter 7 focuses on inferential engineering designs, concept-knowledge, relational concept analysis and model driven architecture, while Chapter 8 puts the spotlight on smart manufacturing, industry 4.0, reference architectures and models for new product development and testing. Lastly, Chapter 9 highlights the polytope projects methodology and the prospects for smart systems and structures. Focusing on process engineering and mathematical modeling for the fourth industrial revolution, the book offers a unique resource for engineers, scientists and entrepreneurs working in chemical, biochemical, pharmaceutical, materials science or systems chemistry, students in various domains of production and engineering, and applied mathematicians.

Translational Informatics by Philip R.O. Payne,Peter J. Embi Pdf

Integrative and translational methodologies and frameworks have transformed modern biomedical research and the delivery of clinical care. This shift has been manifested in a number of ways, including the rapid growth and increasing availability of high-throughput bio-molecular instrumentation and analysis platforms, innovative clinical research programs intended to accelerate knowledge translation, and initial efforts to deliver personalized healthcare informed by the genomic profiles of patients. A common theme of reports and publications concerned with such transformative changes in the biomedical and healthcare domains is concerned with the challenges and opportunities related to the collection, management, integration, analysis, and dissemination of large-scale, heterogeneous biomedical data sets. In particular, the absence of well-established and adopted theoretical and practical frameworks intended to address such needs is a major impediment to the realization of translational and knowledge-driven healthcare, in which the best possible scientific evidence is used to inform the care of every patient. In this vacuum, the development of integrative clinical or translational research paradigms is significantly limited by the propagation of both data and expertise silos. This book details for the first time the current state of this extremely potent area of healthcare innovation and policy and defines the interaction between clinical/translational science and biomedical informatics.
