Heaven on Earth: The Order and Meaning of Mass by Ralph Barnett Pdf

The Catechism of the Catholic Church encourages parents to catechize their children: · Parents’ duty to educate their children is instinctive and inalienable. · Parents have the first responsibility for educating their children. · Parents’ role in education is so important it is near impossible to offer an adequate substitute. · By marriage, parents receive the responsibility of evangelizing their children. · Parents educate their children to fulfill God's law. · As “first heralds," parents should initiate their children into the mysteries of the faith. · Education in the faith by parents should begin in the child's earliest years. · Family catechesis precedes other forms of religious instruction in the faith. But . . . catechize on what and how? As a cradle Catholic, father, grandfather, layperson, and ardent student of our Faith, I offer a suggestion based on common sense . . . and a book series. “We’re living through the greatest loss of faith in the history of the Catholic Church,” a refrain reverberating thru Catholic America. Likely, you are familiar with the statistics: · 25% percent decline in Mass attendance. · 15% of churches closed and/or consolidated. · 65% of Catholics do not believe in the Real Presence. · Catholicism, the largest Christian creed followed closely by fallen away Catholics. America’s religious decline is not new. Experts claim, “Christianity has been on decline since the removal of prayer from public schools in 1962.” Catholic school enrollment declined concurrently. Yet prayer was not removed from Catholic schools. Predictably, Mass attendance followed. What changed? Catholic authorities proffered explanations and recommendations; none of which stemmed the tide . . . a sure sign the root cause was not rightly identified. “What changed” was the equivalent of removing the pillar of prayer from public schools . . . Mass was removed from Catholic catechesis - school, CCD, RCIA, adult formation, ambo, and domestic church. A cursory look at a Baltimore Catechism, the 1950-60s field manual for Catholics, reveals a 30-page segment, “Catechism of the Mass,” immersing students in liturgical details. A cursory look at current Catholic curricula reveals a paucity of information on Mass ranging from a few paragraphs in texts for schools and homeschool to “take home” trifolds for CCD, RCIA, etc. Is Mass that important? Did you know Mass . . . Is the only sacrifice perfect, pleasing, and acceptable to God? Is the most sacred function of the Church, surpassing all others in efficacy? Is the Church’s greatest prayer? Is the Church’s #1 effort to save souls? Is the same sacrifice Christ made on the Cross? Is the perfect answer to prayer as it brings mercy and salvation Christ won for us? Is required attendance every Sunday and six Holy Days a year but Communion only once? Is the Source and Summit of our Faith? Is Heaven on Earth? Seemingly, Mass is the answer to everything integral to Catholicism. Why is it not taught in Catholic education settings? How do we reverse the tide? Catholics must re-assess school, CCD, RCIA, adult formation, school and homeschool catechesis to make space for a deep dive into Mass. To fulfill the need, I submit a book series, “Catechism Curriculum for Catholic Homeschool,” which includes a 163-page text accompanied by a workbook with fifty-one lesson reviews containing 1,600+ questions. The series is not a theological or academic treatise but a user-friendly, step-by-step guide to Mass for homeschool catechesis unlike anything available elsewhere. Author’s Promise: “Your family will never ever go to church, attend Mass, or receive Communion the same way again.”

Yes, self-love can help you lose weight - it helped me lose over 85 pounds. I share my story to help others learn to love themselves more, overcome weight issues, and get the body they desire and deserve." WHO THIS BOOK IS FOR Diets not working for you? Not loving the gym? Feeling fed up with being overweight? This book is for anyone who wants to make a change in their lives. WHY DIETS ALONE DON’T WORK There’s a reason restrictive diets and strict exercise regimes don’t work. Technically, any regime will work if you can ‘stick at it’, but sticking at it is hard. Hey, even starting is hard, right? To make a big change we need to change our mindset first. THIS IS A REVOLUTIONARY NEW WEIGHTLOSS METHOD Instead of starting diets or exercise regimes and trying, or hoping for the best, it’s time for a new weightloss method. To do what’s necessary to shift the weight via any diet or exercise regime, first you have to fix your relationship with you. Love Yourself & Lose Weight offers a revolutionary and visionary approach to weightloss that’s not about the food you eat or the calories you burn, no, it’s simply all about you. If you don’t accept, like, and love yourself, you’re missing a key ingredient to any weightloss regime - you’re missing what you need to make the change. Without self-love, the chances are stacked against you and it’s more likely that whatever you try will fail. SELF LOVE IS THE KEY What if learning to absolutely love yourself could be the key? “With self-love on my side I lost over 85 pounds forever. I’m sharing my secrets of self-love to help you lose weight too. If I can do it, anyone can!” THIS IS A TRANSFORMATIONAL STORY This is the success story of self-love. Katie shares her personal, funny and inspirational story of how she found and harnessed self-love to achieve massive and permanent weight loss. At the age of 38, with a new born baby, Katie was fed up - literally! Years of telling herself she was fine, that the weight gain didn’t matter, that she didn’t matter - had taken their toll and she was over 85 pounds overweight. She didn’t want to wake up feeling disappointed anymore, she knew she needed a change and she knew diets had never worked. A year and a half later, having discovered the power of self-love, she had lost over 85 pounds, changed her shape, changed her outlook on pretty much everything. LEARN THE POWER OF SELF LOVE This book explains the psychology and power of self-love as a catalyst for weightloss. Instead of achieving self-love as a result of weightloss, Love Yourself & Lose Weight helps readers to achieve self-love today! Loving yourself today, whatever weight you are, will enable you to eat consciously, to move your body, and to delight in your weightloss journey, and to feel great about being you. THE BOOK CONTAINS ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO BUILD YOUR SELF LOVE Read how Katie transformed her life and then use the series of easy activities as you create your own self-love success story. Part 2 of the book is your story to write. Download free resources to print and use at home via the author's website. WHY WAIT? Love is powerful and with love on your side you can achieve anything. Learn to accept, like and love yourself today to achieve your wildest weightloss goals with ease. Leadership Transitions and Team Building: Leadership Collection (2 Books) by Harvard Business Review,Michael D. Watkins,Reid Hoffman,Ben Casnocha,Chris Yeh Pdf

The Leadership Transitions and Team Building Collection includes two important books: The First 90 Days, Updated and Expanded, by Michael D. Watkins, and The Alliance, by Reid Hoffman, Ben Casnocha, and Chris Yeh. Transitions are a critical time for leaders. In fact, most agree that moving into a new role is the biggest challenge a manager will face. While transitions offer a chance to start fresh and make needed changes in an organization, they also place leaders in a position of acute vulnerability. Missteps made during the crucial first three months in a new role can jeopardize or even derail your success. In The First 90 Days, Watkins offers proven strategies for conquering the challenges of transitions—no matter where you are in your career. The Alliance, coauthored by the founder of LinkedIn, introduces a new, realistic loyalty pact between employer and employee. The employer-employee relationship is broken, and managers face a seemingly impossible dilemma: the old model of guaranteed long-term employment no longer works in a business environment defined by continuous change, but neither does a system in which every employee acts like a free agent. The solution? Stop thinking of employees as either family or as free agents. Think of them instead as allies. This bold but practical guide for managers and executives will give you the tools you need to recruit, manage, and retain the kind of employees who will make your company thrive in today’s world of constant innovation and fast-paced change.
