Buckland's Domino Divination by Raymond Buckland Pdf

Tarot cards have been a staple of the divination market for years, as has been the I-Ching, numerology, astrology, tea-leaf reading and palmistry. More recently runes have joined these and become very popular. In 1982 Ralph Blum's The Book of Runes started the trend and a wide variety of books on reading runes is now available. Almost as old as tarot cards are the dominoes, the first records of their use being found in China in the early twelfth century. Although today familiar to most people only as a game, dominoes were originally used by the Chinese for divination and fortune-telling. The reading of dominoes comes under the heading of sortilege and, as such, can be traced back to early Greek and Roman methods of divining the future. Divination with dominoes would seem to be a natural follow-on to the popularity of runes. Domino sets are much more readily available than are runes, which are usually manufactured solely for divination use. To be able to do similar readings but with such an accessible tool could not only fulfill the needs of those who are always searching for new lines of psychic development but could also be instrumental in introducing previously hesitant would-be diviners into the field. One of the unique features of domino divination is the fact that more than one person may be "read" at the same time.

Secrets of Gypsy Fortunetelling by Raymond Buckland Pdf

Have you ever wanted to learn how to tell fortunes? Who better to teach you this than a Gypsy. After all, the Gypsies are famous for their powerful fortunetellers. Now you can learn their systems in Secrets of Gypsy Fortunetelling by Raymond Buckland — who is half Gypsy himself. The Gypsies use several systems of fortunetelling, and Ray shares more than a dozen of them here. You'll learn how to see the future in a crystal ball, or any bright, reflective surface. You'll also learn palmistry. Actually, the book goes much further than just reading palms, because you you'll also learn how to interpret the shape of the hand, the texture of the skin, and much more. Have you ever wondered how it is possible to tell the future from tea leaves? This book explains it all: the type of tea to use, how to prepare it, how much fluid to leave in the cup, how to manipulate the cup, and more. Eventually, you'll see the leaves forming patterns on the cup. Ray includes a dictionary with interpretations for almost 300 symbols so you can start practicing this ancient divinatory system right away. What else can you learn? How to read Tarot cards and regular playing cards. How to use dice and dominos to determine fate and the future. Divination with crystals and gemstones. Fortunetelling with fire. Telling fortunes with sticks, knives, and even using a needle as a pendulum to answer questions. You'll also learn how Gypsies were able to interpret omens such as those dealing with weather. Even the position of moles on the body has meaning, and those meanings are revealed here. If you are interested in any form of fortunetelling, this is the book you need to get. It is an entire bookstore of information.

Witchcraft from the Inside by Raymond Buckland Pdf

The word Witchcraft has been misunderstood for centuries. In the past 500 years, millions of people have faced persecution, torture, and even death after being accused of practicing Witchcraft. For many people the word "Witch" still conjures up images of secret spells and diabolical midnight rituals. So what exactly is Witchcraft (also called Wica or Wicca), and how did it evolve into one of today's fastest-growing religions? Witchcraft From the Inside presents the history of Witchcraft-from its roots in ancient fertility religions, to the madness of the Malleus Maleficarum and the European Witch trials, to the growth of modern Wicca in Britain and the United States. Essays contributed by leading Wiccan authorities explore the present state of Wicca and provide a glimpse into the future of this peaceful nature religion. Author Ray Buckland studied Witchcraft under Gerald Gardner, the man largely credited for the revival of Witchcraft and the establishment of Wicca as a modern religion. Mr. Buckland was instrumental in bringing Gardnerian Witchcraft from England to the United States and is considered to be one of the leading American authorities on Witchcraft. In the following excerpt, Mr. Buckland explains the mundane truths behind the seemingly horrific ingredients of the legendary "witches' brews". We know, from Shakespeare and other sources, that the Witches threw into their pots the most gruesome ingredients, right? There were things like the tongue of a snake, bloody fingers, catgut, donkey's eyes, frog's foot, goat's beard, a Jew's ear, mouse tail, snake head, swine snout, wolf's foot, and so on. Pretty disgusting by the sound of it-if you take them at face value! In fact these were all the most innocuous of ingredients: normal plants and herbs. Today all plants have a Latin name, so that they may be distinct and positively identified. Yet years ago they were known only by common, local names. A plant or herb might be known by one name in one part of the country and a quite different name in another part of the country. And these names were colorful ones, frequently given to the plant because of its looks, color, or other attributes. In the above list, adder's tongue was a name given to the dogtooth violet (Erythronium americanum); bloody fingers was the foxglove (Digitalis purpurea); catgut was the hoary pea (Tephrosia virginiana); donkey's eyes were the seeds of the cowage plant (Mucuna pruriens); frog's foot was the bulbous buttercup (Ranunculus bulbosus); goat's beard was the vegetable oyster (Tragopogon porrofolius); Jew's ear was a fungus that grew on elder trees and elm trees (Peziza auricula); mouse tail was common stonecrop (Sedum acre); snake head was balmony (Chelone glabra); swine snout was the dandelion (Taraxacum dens leonis); and wolf's foot was bugle weed (Lycopus virginicus). So the seemingly fearsome concoctions that the Witches mixed up in their cauldrons were nothing more than simple herbs going into a cookpot!
