A Guide to New Zealand Wine by Peter Lionel Saunders Pdf
"The development of wine in New Zealand has been commented on by everyone, from politicians to returning New Zealanders. The difference in my mind, even since the first edition of this book in 1976 is noticeable. I find it very sad, however, that so many of our better wines are being consumed too young. But, consumption of wine continues to rise, despite difficult economic conditions. And interest in wine, and its enjoyment, also continues, carrying with it more and more "casual drinkers" of the product into the category of "wine lovers" who want to know more. Accordingly, the third edition of this handbook is presented to assist New Zealand wine drinkers, (and those new to, or visiting our country) with as much desire to be helpful as in the first two editions. I have been as careful as possible in my criticisms, although I have not had to be as critical with individual wines as the first year. More criticism has had to be aimed at the industry as a whole, in some areas, but I have endeavoured to be constructive wherever this has been needed. All sections in this book have been re-written, in order to stay abreast of changes and developments."--
