Scarfaces grandmother named Lola, pregnant when she runaway from the wilderness of Duckenfield, to the perilous streets of central Kingston, in Jamaica. She made her way to Rochester, New York; and found refuge amongst a bunch of Rastafarian dreadlocks from Jamaica; they lived in a large house on Terry Street, off Jefferson Avenue. Shortly after Lola gave birth to Scarfaces father in Rochester, Prince, a notorious drug lord from the wilderness, came in search of Lola and the baby. Having a father and a mother living together were the happiest days of Scarfaces childhood, but it did not last for long. Scarfaces father suddenly gunned down in the streets of Rochester, New York. Scarface became an orphan, a motherless and a fatherless child, without any known family member who was not a drug addict, or an alcoholic, or a drug trafficker.

Look for The Star Gods trilogy and the new Children of the Dragon Nimbus series! A letter from the author, Irene Radford: Welcome to the world where dragons are real and magic works. If you are new to the Dragon Nimbus, pull up a chair and join us as we revel in tales that have touched my heart more than anything else I've written under any pen name. If you are returning after an absence, I am very happy to have you back. This is a world that began with a Christmas gift of a blown-glass dragon. The dragon sat proudly on the knick-knack shelf for several months, loved and admired, reluctantly dusted, and totally inert. Then one night at dinner, my son remarked, "You know, Mom, I think dragons are born all dark, like that little pewter dragon, then they get more silvery as they grow up until they are as clear as glass." The dragon came to life for me. Out of that chance remark came first one book, then three, five, seven, and finally ten. I built a career on these books and loved every minute of the process. These characters still live in my mind many years after they jumped into their stories and dragged me along with them. Many thanks to DAW Books and my editor Sheila Gilbert for reviving The Dragon Nimbus a lucky thirteen years after they first debuted. With these omnibus volumes, you can read about the dragons with crystal fur that directs your eye elsewhere yet defies you to look anywhere else. Wonderful dragons full of wit and wisdom. Magic abounds. Magicians and mundanes alike learn about their world and special life lessons as they explore dragon lore past and present. The books will be presented in the order in which they were written, and the order that makes the most sense of the entwined tales. So, sit back and enjoy with me. And may reading take you soaring with Dragons.

Daughter of Scarface Ii by LaDawn Cusimano Pdf

This is a true crime and corruption story. I was born in California. My father killed someone and went to jail, so my little sister Charlotte and I were adopted by a wealthy aunt and uncle in Fort Worth, Texas. My father beat his case in court by self-defense and joined us in Texas, but we were still adopted. We went to the best schools, wore the best clothes, and took music and dancing lessons. We had the best home any child could have with all the opportunities in the world. As teens, my sister and I worked in one of our adoptive father’s office. However, I grew rebellious and became a stripper and eventually got with gangsters and became one myself. I was married to three crime bosses and became one myself as they did prison time. Eventually, I got a fifty-year prison sentence by crooked cops who murdered a young man after robbing his parents of $3 million in jewels. There was a cover-up, and they are yet to be arrested for it. My prayer is to see them pay for that murder. There's no statue of limitation on murder.

CHILD OF TH DEVIL'S GARDEN by Robert D. & Susan C. Mead Mead Pdf

CHILD OF THE DEVIL'S GARDEN is the autobiographical adventures of a young boy, born and raised during the lumbering industry's boom in the high, rugged, most northeastern county in California. Modoc County is home to the Devil's Garden, a mile-high, expansive, prehistoric lava flow plateau covering an area of a half-million acres. It is rich in stories of the history of settling the Northwest and of bloody warfare upon the Devil's Garden. The Devil's Garden was the site of the last and only major Indian war fought in California, and the only Indian war in which a regular Army general was killed, and an Indian Chief hanged. Considering the number of individuals involved, it was also the costliest Indian war in our nation's history.

Hollywood: A Very Short Introduction by Peter Decherney Pdf

In this engaging and readable book, Peter Decherney tells the story of Hollywood, from its nineteenth-century origins to the emergence of internet media empires. He recounts how the studio system rose out of the ashes of Thomas Edison's trust to create the handful of companies that have dominated global screens and imaginations for more than 100 years. Throughout, he reveals that the elements we take to be a natural part of the Hollywood experience--stars, genre-driven storytelling, blockbuster franchises, etc.--are really the product of cultural, political, and commercial forces. In many ways, Hollywood has remained the same for over a century. It has always been a global industry based in the U.S., and its storytelling has always unfolded across media, adapting plays, book, and comics and spinning off product tie-ins, television series, and social media campaigns. But major events have also continually remade Hollywood. The studios have weathered wars, disruptive new technologies, and competition by adopting a strategy of risk management and assimilation. This book explores the challenges of new technologies, including sound, home video, and computer graphics. And it examines Hollywood's responses to World War II, independent film movements, and regulations imposed by Washington. Hollywood: A Very Short Introduction is filled with discussions of well-known movies, stars, and directors, encapsulating the past century of research on Hollywood while adding many original insights and stories. It is the perfect introduction for readers who want to better understand the history and functioning of our screen-saturated world. ABOUT THE SERIES: The Very Short Introductions series from Oxford University Press contains hundreds of titles in almost every subject area. These pocket-sized books are the perfect way to get ahead in a new subject quickly. Our expert authors combine facts, analysis, perspective, new ideas, and enthusiasm to make interesting and challenging topics highly readable.
