Don’t Be a Pusi by Elizabeth Jordan Pdf

Don’t be a Pusi combines humor, singsong poetic rhyme, and strict values that give voice to some traditional methods of parenting that have been lost. It’s nice to be friends with your child, but it’s more important to be a responsible model and inspiration, showing kids how to be strong adults when they grow up. Parents want to be “cool,” but more importantly, they should teach children to be respectful instead of rude. From the cradle to college, kids have the chance to learn from their elders, and learn they must to be successful in the world. Good life habits are formed at an early age, so parents should teach kids right from the moment they’re born, and children should pay attention to the lessons being taught. Someday, children will become parents and have kids of their own. By enforcing strict values, both parents and children alike can work together toward a happy family and a happy life. AUTHOR BIO Elizabeth Jordan has been married for thirty years and is a mother of five. She is also a visual artist who teaches art to both neurotypical and neurodiverse students of all ages. Going back to graduate school at forty-seven, she earned two master’s degrees—one in fine art and the second in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

The Bamboo Fire by William E. Mitchell Pdf

Anthropology is primarily done in the field, unlike the laboratory oriented experimental sciences. Experimental sciences make their observations in constructed settings that permit variables influencing the outcome of the experiment to be known and controlled. In contrast, anthropology's object of inquiry, like the science of ethology is life experience in its natural setting. To understand how people organize their lives both in thought and in action, one must settle among them for a very long time. The Wape of Papua New Guinea inhabit a mountainous rain forest and live in sedentary villages. They are slash and burn horticulturalists. marriage is by bride wealth and polygyny is permitted but rare. Male status is egalitarian and, although the society is hierarchical in terms of sex and age differences, both women and the young enjoy higher status than in many other New Guinea societies. While most Wape are nominal Christians, traditional religious beliefs and practices are of major importance. This book concentrates on describing the field work process by giving the reader a feeling of the reflexive nature of this experience. It demonstrate not only how the anthropologist proceeds in her or his work, but describes the social and psychological context in which that work evolves and how anthropologists respond to it both within oneself and in communication with others. While it is a book about the Wape people it is also a book about how one anthropologist tried to understand them. It integrates the subjective and objective into a common research method. Related to the book, the author has published a film, Magical Curing, and a CD, The Living Dead and Dying: Music of the New Guinea Wape.

The Haymaker by Elizabeth Cadell Pdf

Nether Stapling Manor nor any of the fine family possessions of this stately home really belonged to Lady Laura, but for more than twenty years she had enjoyed them undisturbed. Many people in the nearby little town of Rivering were well aware of the situation. No one was worried except nice old Cosmo Brierley, trustee of the Estate, and he had no control whatever over this eccentric aristocrat. His one comfort was that Lady Laura was a wonderful custodian of the place, keeping all intact and cherished, even making money by son et lumière in summer and her successful (if unlawful) use of the Stapling land. But when the beautiful young blonde owner of the estate arrives from America, there are certain surprises in store for everyone…

An ordinary young man like Chen Fan occasionally obtained a summoning scroll from the Hero Alliance in the future. From then on, Chen Fan and the heroes he summoned had created a colorful comedy in the city ..."Master, it's done, except for 2 guys ..."Chen Fan calmly said, "Don't worry, you want to run? Running in front of me is the biggest mistake of his life. Card, EZ, captain, Panson, Ice, Dead Song, Lax will destroy him!Ah? Cooldown? Forget it, let them go. Wishing them a chance to live through Timmer's Mushroom Formation...What? They didn't go that way? It's okay, there's still the clown's box there, right? What? You're not going there either? "Hehe, don't be afraid, there are still two cannons with big heads over there ..."This book uses ease as the main melody, interspersed with all sorts of funny plot. Labor and Love in Guatemala by Catherine Komisaruk Pdf

Labor and Love in Guatemala re-envisions the histories of labor and ethnic formation in Spanish America. Taking cues from gender studies and the "new" cultural history, the book transforms perspectives on the major social trends that emerged across Spain's American colonies: populations from three continents mingled; native people and Africans became increasingly hispanized; slavery and other forms of labor coercion receded. Komisaruk's analysis shows how these developments were rooted in gendered structures of work, migration, family, and reproduction. The engrossing narrative reconstructs Afro-Guatemalan family histories through slavery and freedom, and tells stories of native working women and men based on their own words. The book takes us into the heart of sweeping historical processes as it depicts the migrations that linked countryside to city, the sweat and filth of domestic labor, the rise of female-headed households, and love as it was actually practiced—amidst remarkable permissiveness by both individuals and the state.
