Cet ouvrage a pour but de faire apparaître la diversité des questions de science politique qui se posent dans les deux parties réunies de l'Europe, en invoquant l'exemple de la France et de la Hongrie. Le désir d'Europe, issu des fondements communs et conséquemment des idéaux communs, émerge de cette hétérogénéité : mystère d'une Babel qui entretient ses multiples langages tout en approchant la concrétisation de son unité originelle. Trois centres universitaires de recherche, l'un hongrois et les autres français, ont réuni ici une équipe pluridisciplinaire, composée essentiellement de jeunes chercheurs, issus de plusieurs pays européens.
