Maxims of Christian Chivalry by Kenelm Henry Digby Pdf

Born in Ireland in 1800 of English Stock and raised in a strongly Protestant surrounding, Kenelm Henry Digby entered the Roman Catholic Church while writing his first great masterpiece; The Broadstone of Honour, first published in 1822. The Broadstone treats of the origin, spirit and institutions of Christian Chivalry and the true practice of the same. It was his deep study of these lofty ideals and the "Ages of Faith," which he had been raised to despise, that led him to his conversion. Maxims of Christian Chivalry was edited bt Nicholas Dillon, O.F.M. in 1924, taking essential bits from The Broadstone and categorizing them into a book which could well serve as a manual for the Catholic Knight. Some headings include: Definition of Honour * Definition of Chivalry * Motto of Chivalry * Rules of Chivalry * Extracts from the Book of Chivalrous Instruction * Religious Orders of Knighthood * Preparation for Knighthood * List of Famous Knights * Facing Death * The Voice of Nature * Fruits of Solitude * Reverence for True Womanhood * The Divine Office * Church Music * All Things in Christ...but a small sampling. Foreword by Robert Kane, S.J.

Reflections on the World of Human Inspirations by Gabriel Bekö Pdf

Inspiration is the initial spark that puts us on track towards our beliefs, attitudes, and actions. It partly defines who we are and whom we will become. But what are the sources of our inspirations, what governs them, how do they take shape in our lives and how are our lives shaped by them? Can they be right and wrong, and do we have the power to control them? This book provides an analysis of the historical, geographical, and cultural aspects of those countless moments that ignite our passions, guide our efforts, or cause the lack of both. Through the study of human inspirations, the author elaborates a variety of issues, including current societal, political, and global challenges, spirituality, human character, individualism, education, as well as the contrast between what used to be the political East and West, communism and capitalism. The book offers an intriguing look at the inflation of inspirations in our rapidly changing societies and its global implications. It fuses numerous fields to offer a refined view of the world and ourselves in it. Do advanced societies consist of advanced individuals, or is it time to reassess our values, redefine our principles, and seek inspirations that dare to question the status quo and introduce us to a category of dignity that moves us closer to a truly advanced world?

Heroism and Genius by William J Slattery Pdf

"Every chancellery in Europe, every court in Europe, was ruled by these learned, trained and accomplished men the priesthood of that great and dominant body." — President Woodrow Wilson, The New Freedom With stubborn facts historians have given their verdict: from the cultures of the Jews, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, and Germanic peoples, the Catholic Church built a new and original civilization, embodying within its structures the Christian vision of God and man, time and eternity. The construction and maintenance of Western civilization, amid attrition and cultural earthquakes, is a saga spread over sixteen hundred years. During this period, Catholic priests, because they numbered so many men of heroism and genius in their ranks, and also due to their leadership positions, became the pioneers and irreplaceable builders of Christian culture and sociopolitical order. Heroism and Genius presents some of these formidable men: fathers of chivalry and free-enterprise economics; statesmen and defiers of tyrants; composers, educators, and architects of some of the world's loveliest buildings; and, paradoxically, revolutionary defenders of romantic love.

Knight of the Grail Code by Rick Kasparek Pdf

In an attempt to discover what has become hidden within the growing darkness of our society, Knight of the Grail Code examines the source of our natural, moral instincts and how following these transcendent morals can lead to physical, mental, and sociological health. We discover the source of our morality and find that--like the Grail--it gives us health and life. And also like the Grail, it is the quest for its discovery that reveals our true nature.
