We make excuse after excuse for continuing this displeasing behavior. This straightforward and to the point book, as told by the self-explanatory title, challenges the reader to "Get That Monkey Off Your Own Back!" The goal being to get you to change your perception. Because the way you see things will affect the way you react to those things. This book implores the reader to "Think About It." Don't just read it and forget it. Think about what is being said. With such chapters as "Self Motivation," "Practice! Practice! Practice!" and "Why Worry?" this book promises to be an enjoyable and thought provoking read. So if you've got something about yourself that you'd like to change, read U! Get That Monkey Off Your Own Back! and discover the hidden power in "U." Something to think about: From the day you are born, you face numerous choices. You hear advice and viewpoints from various voices. Some say do it. Some say don't. Some say you will. Some say you won't. But in this maze of life, with its many doors. The choice has always been, and will always be . . . YOURS!

Strange Natures by Nicole Seymour Pdf

In Strange Natures, Nicole Seymour investigates the ways in which contemporary queer fictions offer insight on environmental issues through their performance of a specifically queer understanding of nature, the nonhuman, and environmental degradation. By drawing upon queer theory and ecocriticism, Seymour examines how contemporary queer fictions extend their critique of "natural" categories of gender and sexuality to the nonhuman natural world, thus constructing a queer environmentalism. Seymour's thoughtful analyses of works such as Leslie Feinberg's Stone Butch Blues, Todd Haynes's Safe, and Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain illustrate how homophobia, classism, racism, sexism, and xenophobia inform dominant views of the environment and help to justify its exploitation. Calling for a queer environmental ethics, she delineates the discourses that have worked to prevent such an ethics and argues for a concept of queerness that is attuned to environmentalism's urgent futurity, and an environmentalism that is attuned to queer sensibilities.

Urban Natures by Ferne Edwards,Lucia Alexandra Popartan,Ida Nilstad Pettersen Pdf

Efforts to create greener urban spaces have historically taken many forms, often disorganized and undisciplined. Recently, however, the push towards greener cities has evolved into a more cohesive movement. Drawing from multidisciplinary case studies, Urban Natures examines the possibilities of an ethical lively multi-species city with the understanding that humanity’s relationship to nature is politically constructed. Covering a wide range of sectors, cities, and urban spaces, as well as topics ranging from edible cities to issues of power, and more-than-human methodologies, this volume pushes our imagination of a green urban future.

Queer Natures, Queer Mythologies by Sam See Pdf

Queer Natures, Queer Mythologies collects in two parts the scholarly work—both published and unpublished—that Sam See had completed as of his death in 2013. In Part I, in a thorough reading of Darwin, See argues that nature is constantly and aimlessly variable, and that nature itself might be considered queer. In Part II, See proposes that, understood as queer in this way, nature might be made the foundational myth for the building of queer communities. With essays by Scott Herring, Heather Love, and Wendy Moffat.

SOCIAL PROBABILITY THEORY, HISTORICAL AND NATURAL OBSERVATIONS: by Dr. Rose Sabina Griffith Hunte Pdf

The social probability theories, and historical & natural observations contained in this book were developed over many years and others are based on observations and current events in history. I have also included two new products I discovered while living in my native country of Saint Lucia. Additionally, I review the world, its beauty, and its history. Humanity has reached a milestone. While in Saint Lucia, I noted several alien sightings and have shared my observations of these sightings through this book. I reviewed many natural and historical observations, have looked at the world, and saw the wonder it contains. The reader will see references to "Mind Probe technology". This technology is used by governments with the technology to conduct systematic checks on people of interest. I became aware of the technology while living in Saint Lucia because of the alien sightings, I witnessed and the conclusions I drew from those sightings. It is imperative that, as a society, we do not perceive these alien visitors as a threat. It is my summation that they can be the harbingers of great technology and enhanced medical care that will benefit humanity. I hope that with the writing of this book, the scientific community and committee that discusses these phenomena will welcome me as a member because I believe I can contribute greatly to their investigation of the alien presence that I surmise have been visiting earth for thousands if not millions of years.

Natures in Translation by Alan Bewell Pdf

Understanding the dynamics of British colonialism and the enormous ecological transformations that took place through the mobilization and globalized management of natures. For many critics, Romanticism is synonymous with nature writing, for representations of the natural world appear during this period with a freshness, concreteness, depth, and intensity that have rarely been equaled. Why did nature matter so much to writers of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries? And how did it play such an important role in their understanding of themselves and the world? In Natures in Translation, Alan Bewell argues that there is no Nature in the singular, only natures that have undergone transformation through time and across space. He examines how writers—as disparate as Erasmus and Charles Darwin, Joseph Banks, Gilbert White, William Bartram, William Wordsworth, John Clare, and Mary Shelley—understood a world in which natures were traveling and resettling the globe like never before. Bewell presents British natural history as a translational activity aimed at globalizing local natures by making them mobile, exchangeable, comparable, and representable. Bewell explores how colonial writers, in the period leading up to the formulation of evolutionary theory, responded to a world in which new natures were coming into being while others disappeared. For some of these writers, colonial natural history held the promise of ushering in a “cosmopolitan” nature in which every species, through trade and exchange, might become a true “citizen of the world.” Others struggled with the question of how to live after the natures they depended upon were gone. Ultimately, Natures in Translation demonstrates that—far from being separate from the dominant concerns of British imperial culture—nature was integrally bound up with the business of empire.

Handbook of Research on Fireworks Algorithms and Swarm Intelligence by Tan, Ying Pdf

In recent years, swarm intelligence has become a popular computational approach among researchers working on optimization problems throughout the globe. Several algorithms inside swarm intelligence have been implemented due to their application to real-world issues and other advantages. A specific procedure, Fireworks Algorithm, is an emerging method that studies the explosion process of fireworks within local areas. Applications of this developing program are undiscovered, and research is necessary for scientists to fully understand the workings of this innovative system. The Handbook of Research on Fireworks Algorithms and Swarm Intelligence is a pivotal reference source that provides vital research on theory analysis, improvements, and applications of fireworks algorithm. While highlighting topics such as convergence rate, parameter applications, and global optimization analysis, this publication explores up-to-date progress on the specific techniques of this algorithm. This book is ideally designed for researchers, data scientists, mathematicians, engineers, software developers, postgraduates, and academicians seeking coverage on this evolutionary computation method.
