Analysis of Pseudo-Differential Operators by Shahla Molahajloo,M. W. Wong Pdf

This volume, like its predecessors, is based on the special session on pseudo-differential operators, one of the many special sessions at the 11th ISAAC Congress, held at Linnaeus University in Sweden on August 14-18, 2017. It includes research papers presented at the session and invited papers by experts in fields that involve pseudo-differential operators. The first four chapters focus on the functional analysis of pseudo-differential operators on a spectrum of settings from Z to Rn to compact groups. Chapters 5 and 6 discuss operators on Lie groups and manifolds with edge, while the following two chapters cover topics related to probabilities. The final chapters then address topics in differential equations.

Advances in Pseudo-Differential Operators by Ryuichi Ashino,Paolo Boggiatto,Man-Wah Wong Pdf

This volume consists of the plenary lectures and invited talks in the special session on pseudo-differential operators given at the Fourth Congress of the International Society for Analysis, Applications and Computation (ISAAC) held at York University in Toronto, August 11-16, 2003. The theme is to look at pseudo-differential operators in a very general sense and to report recent advances in a broad spectrum of topics, such as pde, quantization, filters and localization operators, modulation spaces, and numerical experiments in wavelet transforms and orthonormal wavelet bases.

An Introduction to Pseudo-Differential Operators by M W Wong Pdf

The aim of this third edition is to give an accessible and essentially self-contained account of pseudo-differential operators based on the previous edition. New chapters notwithstanding, the elementary and detailed style of earlier editions is maintained in order to appeal to the largest possible group of readers. The focus of this book is on the global theory of elliptic pseudo-differential operators on Lp(Rn). The main prerequisite for a complete understanding of the book is a basic course in functional analysis up to the level of compact operators. It is an ideal introduction for graduate students in mathematics and mathematicians who aspire to do research in pseudo-differential operators and related topics.

Pseudodifferential Operators and Spectral Theory by Mikhail A. Shubin Pdf

The theory of pseudo differential operators (abbreviated PD~) is compara tively young; in its modern form it was created in the mid-sixties. The progress achieved with its help, however, has been so essential that without PD~ it would indeed be difficult to picture modern analysis and mathematical physics. PD~ are of particular importance in the study of elliptic equations. Even the simplest operations on elliptic operators (e. g. taking the inverse or the square root) lead out of the class of differential operators but will, under reasonable assumptions, preserve the class of PD~. A significant role is played by PD~ in the index theory for elliptic operators, where PD~ are needed to extend the class of possible deformations of an operator. PD~ appear naturally in the reduction to the boundary for any elliptic boundary problem. In this way, PD~ arise not as an end-in-themselves, but as a powerful and natural tool for the study of partial differential operators (first and foremost elliptic and hypo elliptic ones). In many cases, PD~ allow us not only to establish new theorems but also to have a fresh look at old ones and thereby obtain simpler and more transparent formulations of already known facts. This is, for instance, the case in the theory of Sobolev spaces. A natural generalization of PD~ are the Fourier integral operators (abbreviatedFIO), the first version ofwhich was the Maslov canonical operator.

Introduction To Pseudo-differential Operators, An (2nd Edition) by Man-wah Wong Pdf

In this new edition of An Introduction to Pseudo-Differential Operators, the style and scope of the original book are retained. A chapter on the interchange of order of differentiation and integration is added at the beginning to make the book more self-contained, and a chapter on weak solutions of pseudo-differential equations is added at the end to enhance the value of the book as a work on partial differential equations. Several chapters are provided with additional exercises. The bibliography is slightly expanded and an index is added.

Elementary Introduction to the Theory of Pseudodifferential Operators by Xavier Saint Raymond Pdf

In the 19th century, the Fourier transformation was introduced to study various problems of partial differential equations. Since 1960, this old tool has been developed into a well-organized theory called microlocal analysis that is based on the concept of the pseudo-differential operator. This book provides the fundamental knowledge non-specialists need in order to use microlocal analysis. It is strictly mathematical in the sense that it contains precise definitions, statements of theorems and complete proofs, and follows the usual method of pure mathematics. The book explains the origin of the theory (i.e., Fourier transformation), presents an elementary construcion of distribution theory, and features a careful exposition of standard pseudodifferential theory. Exercises, historical notes, and bibliographical references are included to round out this essential book for mathematics students; engineers, physicists, and mathematicians who use partial differential equations; and advanced mathematics instructors.

Pseudo-Differential Operators: Groups, Geometry and Applications by M. W. Wong,Hongmei Zhu Pdf

This volume consists of papers inspired by the special session on pseudo-differential operators at the 10th ISAAC Congress held at the University of Macau, August 3-8, 2015 and the mini-symposium on pseudo-differential operators in industries and technologies at the 8th ICIAM held at the National Convention Center in Beijing, August 10-14, 2015. The twelve papers included present cutting-edge trends in pseudo-differential operators and applications from the perspectives of Lie groups (Chapters 1-2), geometry (Chapters 3-5) and applications (Chapters 6-12). Many contributions cover applications in probability, differential equations and time-frequency analysis. A focus on the synergies of pseudo-differential operators with applications, especially real-life applications, enhances understanding of the analysis and the usefulness of these operators.
