After performing the necessary operations, induce the class to express what they did in somewhat the following way: First make the last single entry entry, i.e., give the proprietor credit for the net gain or charge him with the net loss found. Then, copy the Statement of Assets and Liabilities into the journal, posting all those items which are not checked. For year's net gain as per statement. 31 I have this day decided to change my books from Single Entry to Double Entry.
