Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Demographics and Civil-registration (INCODEC 2021) by Diana Lukitasari,Agus Hendriyanto,Riyadi Muslim,Sani Sahara Pdf

This is an open access book.Massive development of the internet in the current era of openness delivers enormous benefits for easy access to information for both individual users, groups and governments. However on the other hand, this development has also resulted in various types of challenges with certain consequences, one of the challenges is guaranteeing the security of access to personal data. The important role of personal data is to complete individual rights, such as in obtaining social security, banking services, conducting general elections and others, as in this case the presence of the state in participating in ensuring the confidentiality of personal data is very necessary. The State through the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia in Article 28G clearly stipulates “every person has the right on protection for his/herself, family, honor, dignity, and property of objects that under his/her power, and entitled on a sense of safe and protection from the threat of fear to do or not to do something which is a human right”. Along with the development of information through the internet, technology continues to find various applications and various variations of new technology. Technological growth is directly align to development growth and impulsively drives population movement. As the object and subject of development, the population is recognized, identified, sorted and analyzed as the development policies implemented capable to be targeted. Population data and information thus occupy a very strategic position. Through Law Number 52 of 2009 on the Population Development and Family Development, the central government and local one are given the mandate to collect, process and present data and information on population and family. These efforts can be done through censuses, surveys and family data collection. One of the developed and applied technologies is the development of Big Data technology. Big Data technology utilized to improve public services provided by the government. The development of this technology consistently utilized to build a complete and centralized database in a single identity. In its implementation, the government has opportunities and challenges to take advantage of this technology. Some of the challenges are related to data security and the community’s perspective on managing their population data. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a more in-depth study of the application of this technology from various scientific sides to address the opportunities and challenges, especially regarding the security of population data and the behavior of the society towards the guarantee of population data which is managed in the current era of openness. Based on the background above, the D-4 Demographic and Civil Registration Study Program, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta Vocational School will hosting an Online International Seminar on Demography and Civil Registration with main theme: “Challenges on Population Data Security, Demographic Behavior and Transformation in the Openness Era”.

The theme of the conference is "Reconstructing Morals, Education, and Social Sciences for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals". This theme was formulated due to several considerations. First, the symptoms of moral decline that have the potential to destroy the nation. Morals guide humanity towards truth and civilization. The phenomenon of the dehumanization process in the industrial era that pushed people to be part of abstract societies tends to ignore humanity. The education process as a humanitarian system is increasingly marginalized, especially during discussions about the industrial revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0. The conference placed six sub-themes for speakers and participants to share ideas, namely: Social Sciences and Laws, History and Cultural Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, Morals and Humanities, Policy, Politics, and Communication, Education. The committee has received 195 abstracts from prospective speakers. However, there are only 80 abstracts that are eligible to be presented at this conference.

Can East Asia Compete? by Simon J. Evenett,Shahid Yusuf Pdf

East Asian economies of the 1980s and much of the 1990s were among the most competitive exporters of manufactured products and were also able to sustain growth rates far higher than those of other countries, developing or industrial. However, the economic crisis of 1997-98 impacted the economies of these countries. Although recovery began fairly quickly in some countries, others have yet to regain their growth momentum. 'Can East Asia Compete?' looks at whether or not East Asia can restore its near magical performance, or is its competitive strength beginning to wane. This volume argues that East Asian countries have far from exhausted their growth potential. However, future competitiveness will depend on much greater innovative capability in manufacturing and services, innovativeness that is grounded in stronger institutions, improved macroeconomic policies, and closer regional coordination. 'Can East Asia Compete?' clearly summarizes the issues currently being debated and provides guidance to East Asian economies on how to deal with the policy concerns that lie ahead.

Content Delivery Networks by Dom Robinson Pdf

The definitive guide to developing robust content delivery networks This book examines the real-world engineering challenges of developing robust content delivery networks (CDNs) and provides the tools required to overcome those challenges and to ensure high-quality content delivery that fully satisfies operators’ and consumers' commercial objectives. It is informed by the author’s two decades of experience building and delivering large, mission-critical live video, webcasts, and radio streaming, online and over private IP networks. Following an overview of the field, the book cuts to the chase with in-depth discussions—laced with good-natured humor—of a wide range of design considerations for different network topologies. It begins with a description of the author's own requirement filtration processes. From there it moves on to initial sketches, through considerations of stakeholder roles and responsibilities, to the complex challenges of managing change in established teams. Agile versus waterfall considerations within large blue chip companies, security, commercial models, and value chain alignment are explored in detail. Featured throughout the book are numerous "what if" scenarios that help provide a clear picture of the wide spectrum of practical contexts for which readers may be tasked with building and implementing a CDN. In addition, the book: Discusses delivery of live, catch-up, scheduled on-demand, TVOD and SVOD Offers insights into the decisions that can to be made when architecting a content distribution system over IP-based networks Covers CDN topologies, including Edge-Caching, Streaming-Splitting, Pure-Play, Operator, Satellite, and Hybrid Examines computer hosting and orchestration for dedicated appliances and virtualization Includes real-world cases covering everything from IETF, regulatory considerations, and policy formation, to coding, hardware vendors, and network operators Considers the future of CDN technologies and the market forces driving its evolution Written by a back-room engineer for back-room engineers, Content Delivery Networks gets readers up to speed on the real-world challenges they can face as well as tried-and-true strategies for addressing those challenges in order to ensure the delivery of the high-quality content delivery networks that clients demand and users expect.

Empire Roller Disco by Sara Rosen Pdf

A photographic look at Brooklyn's iconic Empire Roller Disco by photographer Patrick D. Pagnano. Brooklyn's Empire Rollerdrome opened its doors in 1941 and soon became the borough's premier destination for recreational and competitive roller skating. But it wasn't until the late 1970s that the celebrated rink reached iconic status by replacing its organist with a live DJ, installing a state of the art sound and light system, and renaming itself after the nationwide dance craze it had helped to originate: the Empire Roller Disco was born. In 1980, the acclaimed street photographer Patrick D. Pagnano went on assignment to document the Empire and its legendary cast of partygoers. The resulting photographs, gathered in Empire Roller Disco for the first time, capture the vibrant spirits, extraordinary styles, and sheer joys of Brooklyn roller disco at its dizzying peak.
