-Regardless of your, sex, colour, race or creed you will find something in my stories you can identify with. -Although purely fictitious these are situations or events individuals may encounter in their lifetime.-As beautiful souls sometimes our lives can be blighted or blessed by situations or events.- The moral in most of my stories is that 'the music of life' will take on different themes, rhythms and moods, however throughout the highs and the lows as individuals we should carry on and learn from each and every experience. - More importantly the key message is that 'Life' is like a 'Beautiful Rose' but you must be strong when you find some thorns, because a 'Rose' always comes with thorns. -The soul is strengthened through life experiences, love, happiness, trials, suffering and through it all we build character, gain wisdom and fundamentally develop into more wholesome individuals.

Dark Nights of the Soul by Thomas Moore Pdf

Every human life is made up of the light and the dark, the happy and the sad, the vital and the deadening. How you think about this rhythm of moods makes all the difference. Our lives are filled with emotional tunnels: the loss of a loved one or end of a relationship, aging and illness, career disappointments or just an ongoing sense of dissatisfaction with life. Society tends to view these “dark nights” in clinical terms as obstacles to be overcome as quickly as possible. But Moore shows how honoring these periods of fragility as periods of incubation and positive opportunities to delve the soul’s deepest needs can provide healing and a new understanding of life’s meaning. Dark Nights of the Soul presents these metaphoric dark nights not as the enemy, but as times of transition, occasions to restore yourself, and transforming rites of passage, revealing an uplifting and inspiring new outlook on such topics as: • The healing power of melancholy • The sexual dark night and the mysteries of matrimony • Finding solace during illness and in aging • Anxiety, anger, and temporary Insanities • Linking creativity, spirituality, and emotional struggles • Finding meaning and beauty in the darkness

Shades of the Soul by Tinuviel Greenwood Pdf

What is the true nature of man? And what if we have forgotten something fundamental to develop our abilities and potential? The story arises from the writer's desire to bring to light an almost forgotten concept about humanity, addressing the introductory theme of this first book in a light and understandable way, and then delving deeper into the second and third books, in which the subject will be explored in greater detail, delving into the core of the message she aims to convey to as many people as possible. Her goal is to raise questions and doubts in the readers, the same inquiries that have always driven her own research and studies. Can concepts such as soul, death, rebirth, and the latent potential of man truly lead us to the discovery of a long-forgotten world? If everything were connected and human beings were to discover that they are truly part of this totality, what could happen to our reality? Would we truly be ready to be deeply shaken, perhaps even to question our beliefs? In this fantasy trilogy, through the intricate romantic plot involving the protagonists, they are pushed to face events that go beyond time and space, as well as the ideologies imposed by cultures. It tells the story of how a bond between souls can overcome any barrier, how harmony and unity can transcend our cultures and races, and how we are all connected to what surrounds us. A story that, starting from our present days, is able to dig deeper, probably surpassing the main images rooted in the collective scenario. The story is set in Ireland, a land particularly dear to the writer, who lived there for several years, continuing to hold the Emerald Isle close to her heart. A land that undoubtedly, thanks to its ancient roots and legends, evokes in a particularly impactful way what the plot will develop along its course.

Elders, Shades, and Women by Richard T. Curley Pdf

In Elders, Shades, and Women, Richard T. Curley describes the ceremonial life of a Nilotic community in northern Uganda and traces the alterations in its ceremonial activities from the turn of the twentieth century to the beginning of extensive contact between the Langi and Europeans in the 1960s. Setting his analysis within the broad context of Lango social organization, Curley discusses the makeup of the community and shows how the innovations of the colonial period led to changes in kinship relations and residential patterns. He is particularly attentive to the husband-wife relationship and to the changing status of women within a patrilineal system. After describing Lango social organization and the changes that it has undergone, Curley turns to the three complexes of Lango ceremonial activity. One of these, traditionally performed by older men, has virtually disappeared, a victim of altered political relationships. The second set, comprising eight separate ceremonies performed for married women, concerns the problem of incorporating a women into her husband's lineage while recognizing that she was born in her father's. The third complex, centering on spirit possession, has become increasingly popular, and women participate to a much greater extent than men. The author treats his religious material within the framework of structural-functionalism by concentrating on ceremonial activities rather than on belief and by relating the ceremonies to social processes. He departs from structural-functionalism, however, in borrowing heavily from work on the analysis of symbols, and he attempts to describe change rather than analyzing Lango religious activity at a single point in time. Shades of a Colonial Coloured by Sislyn Peters Pdf

Shades of a Colonial Coloured An Autobiography chronicles the young Antiguan author's memory milestones, such as asking her mother to pick her up, at age one-and-a-half; Queen Elizabeth's Coronation celebration, at three years old; and the Colony's conversion from British pounds, shillings and pence to the new Eastern Caribbean Currency of dollars and cents, at age ten, among others. The author documents taboo subject questions such as "Where do babies come from?" She touches on the very subtle racism that lurks amongst a few people; the days of migration to England; her first encounter with Rock & Roll and the juke box; and her first peek into American racism. The book gives insight into the author's makeup and foundation, literally. It shows her enthusiasm for learning, and her curiosity about humanity. It also reveals how much corporal punishment was used in home and school. This autobiography is testament to a determination to persevere and rise above all odds, in spite of obstacles. Youth's honest naïveté, innocence, and beauty shine through this thoughtfully written, informative, and valuable work.

The Soul Hypothesis by Mark C. Baker,Stewart Goetz Pdf

What do we mean when we speak about the soul? What are the arguments for the existence of the soul as distinct from the physical body? Do animals have souls? What is the difference between the mind and the soul? The Soul Hypothesis brings together experts from philosophy, linguistics and science to discuss the validity of these questions in the modern world. They contend that there is an aspect of the nature of human beings that is not reducible to the matter that makes up our bodies. This perspective is part of a family of views traditionally classified in philosophy as substance dualism, and has something serious in common with the ubiquitous human belief in the soul. The Soul Hypothesis presents views from a range of sciences and the resulting big picture shows, more clearly than could a single author with one area of expertise, that there is room for a soul hypothesis.
