The Elements of Lifestyle by Peter Kos Pdf

I was an overweight corporate roller in my early thirties, who smoked, ate, and partied too much; I was riding towards the heart-attack-land. But then I read Nigel Marsh's book titled Fat, Forty, and Fired - and I decided to change my trajectory. This book is one of my dreams come true: publishing a creative work while turning forty without being fat (or fired). I've written this for my children, Diana and Peter Jr. It's a book that my teenage self would love to find among the shelves of that public library back in Maribor, Slovenia. I found joy in my life, and I wish for my children - and anyone else reading this book - to find it as well. The secret is to find your "enough." -That middle between excesses and scarcity.

Understanding Lifestyle Sport by Belinda Wheaton Pdf

The past decade has seen a tremendous growth in the popularity of activities like skateboarding and snowboarding; sports that have been labelled as 'extreme' or 'lifestyle' and which embody 'alternative' sporting values such as anti-competitiveness, anti-regulation, high risk and personal freedom. The popularity of these activities goes beyond the teenage male youth that the media typify as their main consumers. This book examines the popularity, significance and meaning of lifestyle sport, exploring the sociological significance of these activities, particularly as related to their consumption, and the expression of politics of identity and difference. Including much unique ethnographic research work with skaters, surfers, windsurfers, climbers, adventure racers, and ultimate frisbee players., the central themes explored in The Cultural Politics of Lifestyle Sports include: How might we describe lifestyle sports? What influence do commercial forces have on lifestyle sports? Do lifestyle sports challenge the hegemonic masculinities inherent in a traditional sport environment? This book is a compelling exploration of sport as a way of life, and is a vital resource for any lecturer or student interested in Sociology and Cultural Studies in a Sports context.

Master Your Lifestyle by Dennis Jonkman Pdf

Did you ever imagine what a perfect life would feel like? Having anything you want and being in total control? The sad part is that most people don't even ask themselves that question. They wonder through life wanting things, but never taking action. They are scared of the things they have to sacrifice, they are scared for the very fact that they will not succeed in it. That they will quit right there in the process. Most people are even scared of the results they are going to get! They don't know if they are able to handle all that pressure. But what if I tell you something that you already know. You only have one life. If you ask 99% of people on an older age what they regret most in their lives. It is not the things that they did and didn't do right. It about the things they didn't do. The things that they didn't do because they thought they were not capable of doing it. Chances are that you are not part of that group of people. You actually want to make changes, but you just don't yet know how to. I am here to tell you that you are on the perfect place right now! I am going to explain you throughout my book what it takes to live a perfect life. What elements are crucial to achieve it, and the most important part how to do it. You might ask yourself the same question that I have asked myself over and over again. "Is there really a perfect life that is perfect for anyone?" The answer is a big fat no. I designed my book just for that! The elements of a perfect life are the same for all of us. But there is still a big variety in how to do them. For example in the first chapter of my book "Morning Ritual". I will explain what my morning ritual is and why it's so powerful. Then I will explain you the morning ritual of very successful people that do it daily too. After that I will explain you how to get your own strong and powerful morning ritual. Chances are that my morning ritual will be totally different then yours. But it will improve our lives in an equal way! So eventually there is a perfect life for us all. The cover is the same, the chapters are the same, just the content you will fill it in with, will be different. I have spent over 5 years struggling to live a life that felt meaningful, a life that gave me the feeling that I am doing the right thing. In the process I changed a lot of things in my life. But I always changed one thing. I always tried to change one thing and was waiting for the results. Not knowing that there are a few key elements connected to make you feel that way. I am very happy that I am able to share the Six Elements of a Perfect Life with the world. So that other people can also live a life that will give them the feeling that they are living it right. A life that will make you improve in every way possible, a life that will give you meaning, a life of fulfillment. The chapters of my book are carefully designed to read in the right order. If you skip the first chapter you will not get the benefits you really want in chapter 2. If you don't take chapter 2 serious you will not be able to get the most out of chapter 3. So this is your time to make a decision. Do you want to take your life to the next level? Do you want to improve your life daily? Do you want to feel more energetic, more happy more fulfilled just by doing so? Then proceed to the first chapter and allow yourself to step into that rollercoaster called life. The rollercoaster that you will have control over. In the process of making this book I intentionally tried to make the book as small as possible. My book is designed to read and take action right away. The moment you read the first chapter, the morning ritual, you have to be prepared that the next day you are going to start with your morning ritual. If not then when will you? Next week? Next year? Right, that's exactly what you don't want. We want action and we want it now!

Lifestyles and Subcultures by Luigi Berzano,Carlo Genova Pdf

Lifestyles and subcultures are tools through which people say – to themselves and to others – who they think they are, who they think they are similar to, and who they think they are different from. Lifestyles and subcultures are ways which people adopt to look at their own lives, and to try to keep together different roles, different practices and different realms which they are involved in. Lifestyles and subcultures are lenses through which we, as observers, analyze society, and orientate ourselves within it, looking for similarities and differences among individuals and collectivities which allow us to understand their thoughts and their actions. This book presents the main analytical approaches through which lifestyles and subcultures have been studied, and also proposes a new interpretative perspective. Today a growing panorama of social phenomena and processes possess intermediate characteristics with regard to those which in the past were identified either as lifestyles or as subcultures. The hypothesis is that consequently these phenomena could be explained and interpreted by means of an analytical framework developed by the intersection of these two perspectives, and the last part of the book is therefore devoted to the presentation of this innovative framework. This book provides new lenses and a fresh view to try to both grasp and understand a constantly-changing reality.

New Economic Spaces: New Economic Geographies by James W. Harrington Pdf

As a core volume in the Dynamics of Economic Space series, contributors from North America, Australasia, Europe and the Middle East each address the constitutive processes of new economic and institutional spaces and the theoretical, methodological and policy-engaging practices of emerging economic geographies. Together, they provide a timely and important overview of the current debates about the geographies of economic change. As national and regional economies change rapidly, so the frameworks, concepts and methods used to describe and analyse those processes also need to evolve. This volume puts forward a comprehensive analysis of a range of different and innovative means currently available, through which to view regional economic activities and interactions.

Lifestyle and Social Structure by Michael E. Sobel Pdf

Lifestyle and Social Structure: Concepts, Definitions, Analyses is devoted the relationship between lifestyle and social structure. The book begins by constructing a meaningful concept of lifestyle in order to understand and model this relationship. The general formulation of the concept hinges on the descriptive word style, defined as ""any distinctive, and therefore recognizable way in which an act is performed or an artifact made or ought to be performed and made."" After developing the implications of the definition, lifestyle is defined, by analogy, as ""any distinctive, and therefore recognizable mode of living."" The notion of social structure is then introduced, arguing that structural differentiation engenders lifestyle differentiation. The remainder of the work is concerned primarily with the modeling of this relationship using data from the 1972-1973 Survey of Consumer Expenditures, and with the concept of stylistic unity. Key topics discussed include the relationship between the theory of lifestyle differentiation and modern economic utility theory; psychographic notions of lifestyle; and the relationships between lifestyle and other key sociological concepts (stratification, alienation). The concept of lifestyle should be of interest to a broad range of applied and theoretical researchers.

Curing Mental Illness by Len Losik Ph.D Pdf

Curing Mental Illness is the results from the research completed by the author for the Canadian Space Agency's Predictive Medicine Program in cooperation with the Russian Cosmonauts in 2012 and 2013 to determine if the author could use his company's PHM technology to predict which astronauts in training would become mentally ill on a deep space mission lasting several years. An edited copy by the CSA of the results of the author's research were published at the 2013 IEEE/AIAA Aerospace Conference held in Big Sky Montana for the CSA's Predictive Medicine Program personnel and subsequently the full results were submitted to NASA Headquarters in 2013 and published on-line for public access in the American Journal of Applied Psychology. Curing Mental Illness provides a complete program for acquiring emotional and mental illnesses as well as recovering from emotional and mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, OCD, through bi-polar or schizophrenia. The author includes the description of why and how these are acquired by people and how they are nothing more than our own body's defensive process trying to get us safe and keep us safe from our own life threatening decisions and lifestyle. Curing Mental Illness includes two massive reference sections and excerpts in the body of the text from members of the existing and past mental health community members and their professional opinions that the author has refuted with his own research results at the beginning of the book. The author also includes both the authors results to answers to common questions left unanswered by the current mental health community and many sections of current inadequate material published about emotional and mental disorders for comparing with the authors results. The author hopes this book will initiate a new direction in developing faster recovery programs that are quicker than the one proposed by the author as well as a new effort for pharmaceutical companies to develop the drugs to suppress our fight-or-flight response (FOFR) that the author has illustrated is the root cause of both emotional and mental disorders as well as all non-genetic based disorders, diseases and illnesses
