The Momentum Effect ePub by Jean Claud Larreche Pdf

One of the most frequent challenges that managers and executives face today is: ‘How do I keep on growing and at the same time, make a profit?’ Based on the author’s extensive research on over 350 Fortune 1000 Firms, The Momentum Effect proves that the old method of spending big on marketing and slashing the manufacturing costs doesn’t work anymore. Instead, it provides new evidence to show that in order to achieve profitable growth you have to create new value for customers through innovation, ingenuity and most importantly by seeing things from a customer perspective. This strategy generates a positive, reinforcing momentum which leads to further growth. Why limit your business growth? With Momentum, you won’t have to.

History, Physical Effects, and Management Implications of Large Organic Debris in Western Oregon Streams by Frederick John Swanson,George W. Lienkaemper,James R. Sedell Pdf

"Large organic debris has historically been an important element in small mountain streams of the Pacific Northwest. The debris serves to slow the movement of water and inorganic and fine organic matter through the channel. Debris may remain in the channel for decades or longer, and tends to stabilize some sections of a streambed and stream banks while destabilizing other areas. The combination of clear cutting and the complete removal of large debris in a channel may deprive a stream of this natural feature of streams for a century or longer. The consequences are likely to be downcutting and channelization" of the stream, accelerated transport of fine organic and inorganic sediment, and a possible decrease in biological productivity of the stream ecosystem. Therefore, stream debris management during logging operations should include leaving undisturbed the natural, stable organic debris in the channel.‍?‍?The principal factors controlling the concentration, stability, and functions of stream debris are the history and condition of the surrounding timber stand, flushing history of the channel, stability and abundance of bedload material, steepness of the channel and adjacent hillslopes, and slope stability in the drainage. Because of this complexity, each stream presents a unique situation, which should be inspected in the field and considered on an individual basis before a debris management decision is made."

From a Trickle to a Torrent by Geoff Childs,Namgyal Choedup Pdf

What happens to a community when the majority of young people leave their homes to pursue an education? From a Trickle to a Torrent documents the demographic and social consequences of educational migration from Nubri, a Tibetan enclave in the highlands of Nepal. The authors explore parents’ motivations for sending their children to distant schools and monasteries, social connections that shape migration pathways, young people’s estrangement from village life, and dilemmas that arise when educated individuals are unable or unwilling to return and reside in their native villages. Drawing on numerous decades of research, this study documents a transitional period when the future of a Himalayan society teeters on the brink of irreversible change.

Behavior Analysis by Henry S. Roane,Andrew R. Craig,Valdeep Saini,Joel E. Ringdahl Pdf

This is the first comprehensive volume to bridge the gap between the science of behavior and applied behavior analysis (ABA). The book demonstrates how laboratory research informs real-world interventions to facilitate behavior change, and vice versa. Most of the chapters are written by researcher–clinician collaborators, who highlight commonalities and differences in the ways they conceptualize behavior and collect, analyze, and use data. Chapters present translational perspectives on conditioning, reinforcement, extinction, choice, verbal behavior, and more. Ethical considerations in translational research are explored. Training in foundational knowledge is a key requirement for behavior analyst certification, making this a needed resource for current and future ABA practitioners.
