The war between humans and aliens was over, but peace remained elusive. For living life in the DMZ between Terran and Gra'al space, things are mostly uneventful for Drake Rose and Captain Valencia Vasquez. The discovery of an abandoned alien child aboard a derelict freighter with its crew slaughtered changes everything. The fragile peace between two proud people is about to be tested and the ancient secrets hidden within the galaxy are waiting to explode. Drake finds himself the protector of not just the child, but life itself. All while Valencia is thrust into more power and responsibility than any human has ever possessed. The crew of the Trystero are the broken heroes no one expected. It's Firefly meets The Mandalorian in this coming of age space opera series. This bundle includes: Broken Ascension Fractured Sentinel Shattered Lineage *** The Trystero Collection: Books 1 - 3 is a collection of the first three novels in the Trystero science fiction adventure series. This ebook boxed set/collection has dashes of classic space opera scope with the action and adventure modern sci-fi readers love. It’s a book readers have said is parts Mandalorian, Firefly, and Hyperion. Follow Drake as he discovers his place in the galaxy, along with the captain, Valencia, and her crew, as they walk the fine line between aliens and humans always on the verge of war. A semi-finalist in Hugh Howey’s SPSFC, Broken Ascension has been dazzling readers for years now, while Fractured Sentinel and Shattered Lineage expand on the galaxy, characters and dive deeper into the metaphysical and LGBTQ themes. Scott from the YouTube channel Book Invasion had this to say about Broken Ascension: “Walsh crafts some excellent action scenes and tension in a high-stakes world while jugging the yin and yang of the characters.” YouTuber Ramsey Meadows says: “So far this is my favorite of the books I have read for the SPSFC and it was a great grow up fast because he has to book.”

The Andlios Collection: Books 1 - 3 by Dave Walsh Pdf

The emperor of the galaxy has fallen, leaving his exiled daughter to pick up the pieces. The once-idyllic Andlios Republic has fallen into chaos after the passing of Emperor Freeman. His son, Cronus, a madman bent on total control of the galaxy, rules in his stead. Adrift on the fringes of republic space, Katrijn Freeman must return home and fulfill her father's dying wish: restore democracy to their fractured republic. There are more forces in play, though. Another princess with a claim to the throne and the Earth Ministry on the other side of the galaxy, bent on domination. It's a race to restore order as Katrijn must traverse the cosmos with her closest allies, caught between humanity's two great civilizations. All while Katrijn and her friends explore their own humanity, trying to avoid repeating the same mistakes that have led to much suffering. It's a space adventure for the ages. This bundle includes: Cydonia Rising Ganymede's Gate Monolith's End *** The Andlios Collection: Books 1 - 3 is a boxed set of the first three books in the Andlios science fiction space opera series. This ebook collection harkens back to the classic, epic space opera series like Dune, Star Wars and Hyperion, while perfect for fans of Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Imperial Radch, New Crobuzon and more. With complex characters and themes, readers follow Katrijn as she deals with the ghosts of her family’s past and the pressures of a galaxy’s future on her shoulders. She’s not alone, though, as Jace, Trella and more cope with their own place in human history, dealing with LGBTQ, collectivist and anti-imperialist themes. The series delves into the metaphysical, asking tough questions about capitalism, colonialism and racism that have plagued history and if we can still build a better future. Veteran Star Trek and Dr. Who author Robert Jeschonek describes Cydonia Rising as such: “Once this book unlocks the vast, rich, and challenging universe that Dave has conjured in his ongoing literary Big Bang, you will never look back.” Author Matt Saccaro touches on the different themes: “It’s a classical space opera mixed with some ancient Rome + medieval Scandinavia. A fascinating juxtaposition and difficult to pull off, but Walsh makes it work.”

Shattered Lineage by Dave Walsh Pdf

He may be dead but the power of a god lives on. Drake’s life will never be the same again, not after an all-powerful being took root inside his mind. Drake saw Him die with his own eyes, destroyed along with an entire planet. Then why does Drake still hear that voice in the back of his head? Valencia has her own demons to face, her bond with Emma—the Sentinel—left her to mull her own existence and crave the family she never had more than ever. Drake ran off to take care of Bruce and that new guy aboard the Trystero? What a joke. Slowing down isn’t an option, though, not when the enraged son of a fallen Gra’al warlord—the one they killed—has his sights set on the power stirring inside of Drake and exacting his revenge on the galaxy. He’ll stop at nothing to repair his shattered lineage, even if it means the destruction of both the Terran and Gra’als altogether. *** KEYWORDS: scifi, science fiction, science fiction ebooks, space opera, space opera ebooks, alien baby, starships, scifi ebooks, space opera science fiction, colonization scifi, starship aliens, scifi heroine, young adult science fiction adventure, alien baby series, space opera book 1, alien war, lgbtq scifi, young adult scifi, ya scifi, science fiction adventure ebooks, science fiction adventure, lovecraftian scifi, elder gods, elder gods scifi, metaphysical scifi

Cracked Palace: A Metaphysical Science Fiction Adventure by Dave Walsh Pdf

There's no stopping the Void now. The gate has been cracked open. Drake and Valencia spent years trying to prevent the coming of the all-powerful alien race known as the Void, only it was all for nothing. After Drake made a deal with the Void Inquisitor, the entity known as Drake Rose ceased to exist as everyone else knew him, leaving him a thrall at the command of the Void. Valencia knows there's no time to waste, trying to urge Terran leaders to join forces with the Gra'al in a show of unity against the coming storm, while Zed believes the only way there can be peace is in retribution against Ansel Breedon, the madman who's xenophobic brinksmanship ruined the fragile peace the galaxy had been working towards. As the crew track down missing Terrans and follow the clues they believe left to them by Drake, it's a race against time to ensure the survival of both the Terran and Gra'al people against the unknown alien threat. *** Cracked Palace is the sixth and final novel in Dave Walsh's Trystero science fiction adventure series. The final book in the Trystero saga explores many metaphysical themes, while staying true to its galaxy-hopping space opera scope. Readers enjoy the deep, personal themes and relationships between the characters while not sacrificing on the breakneck, adventure-filled pacing. Each book explores different thematic elements, from parenthood, to coming of age discovery to broader, geopolitical ones. Fables of Subversion by Steven Weisenburger Pdf

Drawing on more than thirty novels by nineteen writers, Fables of Subversion is both a survey of mid-twentieth century American fiction and a study of how these novels challenged the conventions of satire. Steven Weisenburger focuses on the rise of a radically subversive mode of satire from 1930 to 1980. This postmodern satire, says Weisenburger, stands in crucial opposition to corrective, normative satire, which has served a legitimizing function by generating, through ridicule, a consensus on values. Weisenburger argues that satire in this generative mode does not participate in the oppositional, subversive work of much twentieth-century art. Chapters focus on theories of satire, early subversions of satiric conventions by Nathanael West, Flannery O'Connor, and John Hawkes, the flowering of "Black Humor" fictions of the sixties, and the forms of political and encyclopedic satire prominent throughout the period. Many of the writers included here, such as Vladimir Nabokov, William Gaddis, Kurt Vonnegut, Robert Coover, and Thomas Pynchon, are acknowledged masters of contemporary humor. Others, such as Mary McCarthy, Chester Himes, James Purdy, Charles Wright, and Ishmael Reed, have not previously been considered in this context. Posing a seminal challenge to existing theories of satire, Fables of Subversion explores the iconoclastic energies of the new satires as a driving force in late modern and post-modern novel writing.

The Named by Clare Bell Pdf

All five books in one volume: This fantasy epic about sentient prehistoric wild cats is “powerful, moving, and memorable” (Booklist, starred review). In this adventurous series by a PEN Award–winnning author, Ratha belongs to the Named, a clan of intelligent prehistoric cats who roam a primal landscape and battle for their lives against the savage enemies that stalk the territory. Ratha’s Creature: Young Ratha is a herder, not a hunter. But when she’s exiled from her clan after mastering the power of fire, she must survive the unforgiving wild with only her blazing “creature” to aid her. Clan Ground: Ratha’s ability to control fire could help her clan grow stronger and even dominant—or wreak havoc from within. Now, she must choose the correct path to prosperity, or the Named will surely be doomed. Ratha and Thistle-Chaser: When Ratha clashes with a cat who guards an ocean and its creatures, the two discover a common bond—and unite against a demonic enemy. Ratha’s Challenge: The Named encounter another tribe, and Ratha is torn between friendship and conquest. But her daughter may hold the solution—if she and Ratha can overcome their dark past. Ratha’s Courage: When Ratha’s clan shares the power of fire with another tribe, a disastrous blaze ignites a clash between them, and it’s up to Ratha to end the carnage.
