Towards a Nonlinear Quantum Physics by J. R. Croca Pdf

The author of this book presents conceptual and experimental evidence showing that Heisenberg''s uncertainty relations are not valid in all cases. Furthermore, he derives a more general set of uncertainty relations. The new relations result from the replacement of the Fourier nonlocal and nontemporal paradigm by wavelet local analysis. These results lead to a coherent and beautiful causal synthesis unifying quantum and classical physics.

Quantum Theory from a Nonlinear Perspective by Dieter Schuch Pdf

This book provides a unique survey displaying the power of Riccati equations to describe reversible and irreversible processes in physics and, in particular, quantum physics. Quantum mechanics is supposedly linear, invariant under time-reversal, conserving energy and, in contrast to classical theories, essentially based on the use of complex quantities. However, on a macroscopic level, processes apparently obey nonlinear irreversible evolution equations and dissipate energy. The Riccati equation, a nonlinear equation that can be linearized, has the potential to link these two worlds when applied to complex quantities. The nonlinearity can provide information about the phase-amplitude correlations of the complex quantities that cannot be obtained from the linearized form. As revealed in this wide ranging treatment, Riccati equations can also be found in many diverse fields of physics from Bose-Einstein-condensates to cosmology. The book will appeal to graduate students and theoretical physicists interested in a consistent mathematical description of physical laws.

Interplay of Quantum Mechanics and Nonlinearity by V. M. (Nitant) Kenkre Pdf

This book presents an in-depth study of the discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation (DNLSE), with particular emphasis on spatially small systems that permit analytic solutions. In many quantum systems of contemporary interest, the DNLSE arises as a result of approximate descriptions despite the fundamental linearity of quantum mechanics. Such scenarios, exemplified by polaron physics and Bose-Einstein condensation, provide application areas for the theoretical tools developed in this text. The book begins with an introduction of the DNLSE illustrated with the dimer, development of fundamental analytic tools such as elliptic functions, and the resulting insights into experiment that they allow. Subsequently, the interplay of the initial quantum phase with nonlinearity is studied, leading to novel phenomena with observable implications in fields such as fluorescence depolarization of stick dimers, followed by analysis of more complex and/or larger systems. Specific examples analyzed in the book include the nondegenerate nonlinear dimer, nonlinear trapping, rotational polarons, and the nonadiabatic nonlinear dimer. Phenomena treated include strong carrier-phonon interactions and Bose-Einstein condensation. This book is aimed at researchers and advanced graduate students, with chapter summaries and problems to test the reader’s understanding, along with an extensive bibliography. The book will be essential reading for researchers in condensed matter and low-temperature atomic physics, as well as any scientist who wants fascinating insights into the role of nonlinearity in quantum physics.

The Nonlinear Quantum Field Theory as a Generalization of Standard Model (geometrical Approach) by Alexander G. Kyriakos Pdf

The author proposes a special nonlinear quantum field theory. In a linear approximation, this theory can be presented in the form of the Standard Model (SM) theory. The richer physical structure of this nonlinear theory makes it possible to exceed the limits of SM and remove its known incompleteness. We show that nonlinearity of the field is critical for the appearance of charges and masses of elementary particles, for confinement of quarks, and many other effects, whose description within the framework of SM causes difficulties. In this case, the mechanism of generation of masses is mathematically similar to Higgs's mechanism, but it is considerably simpler and does not include the additional particles. The proposed theory does not examine the theory of gravity, but reveals the mathematical similarity of the nonlinear field equations of both theories. The book is intended for undergraduate and graduate students studying the theory of elementary particles, as well as for specialists working in this field.

Quantum Field Theory with Application to Quantum Nonlinear Optics by Anatoliy K Prykarpatsky,Ufuk Taneri,Nickolai N Bogolubov Jr Pdf

Multi-photon excitation states of poly-atomic molecules undergoing a self-interaction via Kerr effect related processes are of great interest today. Their successful study must be both analytical and by means of modern quantum field theoretical tools. This book deals with these and related topics by developing modern quantum field theory methods for the analysis of radiative states in a nonlinear quantum-optical system. These lecture notes are ideally suited to graduate mathematical physics and physics students, but can also be of interest to mathematicians involved in applied physics problems, and physicists and chemists studying phenomena related with modern quantum-optical devices. Probing the Structure of Quantum Mechanics by Diederik Aerts,Thomas Durt,Marek Czachor Pdf

During the last decade, scientists working in quantum theory have been engaging in promising new fields such as quantum computation and quantum information processing, and have also been reflecting on the possibilities of nonlinear behavior on the quantum level. These are challenging undertakings because (1) they will result in new solutions to important technical and practical problems that were unsolvable by the classical approaches (for example, quantum computers can calculate problems that are intractable if one uses classical computers); and (2) they open up new 'hard' problems of a fundamental nature that touch the foundation of quantum theory itself (for example, the contradiction between locality and nonlinearity and the interpretation of quantum computing as a universal process). In this book, one can distinguish two main streams of research to approach the just-mentioned problem field: (1) a theoretical structural part, which concentrates on the elaboration of a nonlinear quantum mechanics and the fundamentals of quantum computation; and (2) a theoretical experimental part, which focuses on the theoretical aspects of applications that arise from new technology and novel research perspectives such as quantum optics and quantum cryptography. Particular attention is also paid to the measurement problem, the classical limit and alternative interpretations (such as the hidden measurement approach). Dialogues on the New Physics by J. R. Croca Pdf

Eurythmic physics is a general science which seeks to contribute to the unification of the wider field of physics in order to promote understanding of a clearer view of nature. This book develops the fundamental aspects of this approach, tracing how it assumes that, because physical phenomena are not linear in reality, they must be discussed from a nonlinear, interrelated, and complex perspective.

Dialogues on Quantum Physics by J. R. Croca,R. N. Moreira Pdf

The old paradigm of linear quantum mechanics is worn out. It is therefore urgent to replace it with a new approach, one which accepts a reality independent from the observer and which solves the paradoxes and enigmas that popular theories continue to stimulate. This book, in a language accessible not only to scholars but to everyone, exposes the insufficiencies of the orthodox and dominant linear quantum physics, and also demonstrates that time has come to bet on a new quantum physics, a causal and nonlinear physics, which for the time being is heterodox.

Nonlinear, Deformed And Irreversible Quantum Systems - Proceedings Of The International Symposium On Mathematical Physics by Heinz-dietrich Doebner,P Nattermann,Vladimir K Dobrev Pdf

In recent years nonlinear and irreversible quantum mechanics is becoming increasingly important because of the availability of precision experiments. There are new and successful attempts to understand quantum irreversibility. The development of generalized symmetries has to led to new families of evolution equations for pure and mixed states. On the one hand, this timely symposium covers nonlinear and irreversible quantum mechanics, the theory of quantization methods, causality and various problems important in this context. On the other hand, it reports the development of quantum group symmetries, and of methods to construct deformed quantum mechanical evolution equations like the q-deformed Schrödinger equations.
