Handbook of Poultry Feed from Waste by A.H. El Boushy,A.F.B. van der Poel Pdf

The aim of this book is to help create new feedstuffs for poultry and farm animals from the agro-industry and to mobilize the neglected waste as a feedstuff to lower the price of animal products such as eggs, white and red meat, milk, etc. Furthermore, this book aims to contribute to the campaign against hunger in the developing world and to reduce the competition between animals and human beings for cereals and pulses. Accordingly the global pollution problem will be reduced. This book will be of great interest to all those involved in the animal feed and poultry industries, in agricultural universities, and in research establishments where animal nutrition is studied and taught.

Poultry Feed from Waste by A.R.Y. El Boushy,A.F.B. Van Der Poel Pdf

In developed market economies with intensive animal production systems, such as The Netherlands, many new feedstuffs have been introduced as part of the diets of ruminant and monogastric animals. These new feedstuffs are often by-products of human food processing. It is important that these by-products and also the by-products from wastes are properly evaluated with regard to the possibilities of incor porating them into livestock diets. Research on the subject of feed from waste, its processing and its use in the nutrition of poultry has increased considerably during the last decade. The Department of Animal Nutrition of Wageningen Agricul tural University (WAU), Wageningen, The Netherlands, in close co operation with the Poultry Feeding and the Processing Industry, has been active in this field. In order to update research and to expedite further work in this field, a comprehensive review of the literature on the subject of feed from waste was made. Such a study would not only bring the industry up to date on the subject but could also indicate specific topics which may be of great value for developing market economies. Poultry scientists and technologists suggested that a review would fill a need as a reference and textbook, not only for the industry but also for undergraduates and graduates of agricultural colleges and extension services all over the world.

Poultry Products Technology by VivianE Mountney Pdf

Now in its third edition, this classic volume characterizes the science and technology of the poultry industry today, defines the breadth and scope of the overall problems in the industry, and points out areas where more research is needed. With special attention to recent changes in the industry, the nearly two dozen updated chapters of Poultry Products Technology provide a comprehensive overview of the field, examining topics which deal with the processing, handling, marketing, and preparation of poultry meat, products, and by-products. Poultry Products Technology provides up-to-date information and references for food scientists, food technologists, dieticians, and others trained in the food service industry, who will at some point handle poultry products. This book supplies knowledge about how poultry and eggs are processed and prepared and how they can be used for optimum portions and services. The breadth of topics covered, as listed below, make it an ideal text for those just entering the field, for individuals who wish to learn about the work in a particular area before starting extensive research, and for those in the industry who require specific information for making decisions and projecting plans for the future: quality identification--grades and standards quality maintenance--handling and processing poultry and eggs to prevent grade losses chemical and nutritive characteristics of poultry meat and eggs microbiology of eggs and poultry meat methods of preservation--freezing, drying, refrigeration, radiation, canning, smoking cooking poultry meat and eggs handling and uses of inedible by-products methods of analysis of eggs and egg products During the last twenty years, the consumption of poultry meat has and continues to increase while the consumption of eggs has steadily decreased, yet both are still considered good econ

The Complete Book on Biological Waste Treatment and their Utilization by Dr. H. Panda Pdf

The organic waste stream is composed of waste of a biological origin such as paper and cardboard, food, green and garden waste, animal waste and biosolids and sludges. Organic waste is usually generated as a component of most waste streams. For information on the treatments for managing organic wastes click on the links to the right. Four significant components of this organic, biodegradable stream are from food preparation, agricultural production, livestock manures, and municipal sewage sludge. Organic waste from food sources includes vegetables, fruits, grains, meats, fish, dairy products, etc., and constitutes some 18% of the typical municipal organic waste stream. An average of 1 kg per person per day of organic waste is produced, originating from households, wholesalers & processors, restaurants, and institutions. Urban centers are the major generators of organic food waste. Agricultural waste includes waste made up of those materials such as manure and animal output, in either solid or liquid form from poultry or other livestock operations. It also includes harvest remains from grain, oilseed, vegetable, and orchard crops. Increase in biological waste has led to the increase in biological waste management technology. Waste management is the collection, transport, processing or disposal, managing and monitoring of waste materials. The book includes organic waste for biological treatment, organic waste forms and treatment strategies, transformation of liquid manure into a solid, modeling of agricultural waste treatments, utilization of Indian waste in livestock feeds etc. This book also explains the different types of organic wastes like waste from tomato, jute, cotton, agro-industries, dehydration process of onion, piggeries, poultry, milk parlour etc. This book describes the methods how organic waste can be converted into useful products like oxalic acid, oxytetracycline, humic acids etc. The book is highly recommended to new entrepreneurs, existing units who wants to get more information of organic waste treatment.
