Creating a Family Altar by Alicia White Pdf

Creating a Family Altar is about a call back to the ancient ways, the ancient vision that God established for families. God's heart has always been to create a perpetual generation of worshippers that would daily abide in His presence. However, today, more often than not, our children go one way at church and we go the other. This same pattern repeats itself within in our homes. Satan has used every distraction possible to rob us of presence-filled family worship. The altar of our home, where God's vision for our families is to be cultivated and manifested, has been stripped away and replaced with busyness, rebellion, compromise, and selfish lust of the flesh. It is time to pick up the greatest call we will every have in life and lay hold of the compass that points us to the family altar once again. It is the purpose of this book to give parents a step-by-step outline and blueprint, using the Tabernacle model, on how to create a family altar. But not just a family altar, but a habitation place of the Lord's presence right within your home. In this book, I will take you on a journey of Biblical blueprint for family worship and give you a step-by-step instructional manual of family worship using the Tabernacle of Moses. But this isn't just another book with good information, I also provide you with very practical, creative, and spirit-filled ways that you can begin and continue in the vision and calling of the family altar to get you started . It is time to fill our homes with the presence of Jesus once again and allow worship to be the lifestyle we live, not just a place we go.

Rebuilding the Family Altar by Dr. Clint Ritchie Pdf

Families are in crisis, and as a result, so is society. The number of children who are leaving the church and completely walking away from the faith is alarming. All of this is part of a deeper issuefamilies have stopped worshiping together at home. Dr. Clint Ritchie examines the change in family worship in Rebuilding the Family Altar and challenges parents to accept their God-given role as the leader in the spiritual development of their children. Ritchie provides a biblical foundation for the family altar, examines key elements of family worship, and offers fifty-two family worship devotionals. Rebuilding the Family Altar stresses the need for parents to include more than church attendance in their childrens spiritual journey. This resource strives to bring the church and parents together to revive family worship. With the precision of a surgeons scalpel, Dr. Ritchie dissects the cause of todays family struggles. With clarity he goes step by step in diagnosing the issues and along with it, offers solid biblical examples of how to move forward to be the family that God desires and to aid parents, even includes a years Bible study. This book, with Gods guidance, will convict parents and create a new, sold-out generation for His glory. Rev. John Yates, John Yates Ministry, LLC

The Little Oratory by David Clayton,Leila Marie Lawler Pdf

Keeping a faithful prayer life with your family isn't easy. From herding distracted children to managing the seemingly endless litany of prayers and devotions, our spiritual life all too often feels frantic and burdensome. This isn't the way it should be. Our prayer life, our family life, and our work life should — and can! — be in harmony. When they are, our family is a powerhouse of grace, and Our Lord transforms our home into a little Eden — a little bit of heaven on earth. With simplicity and holy wisdom, authors David Clayton and Leila Marie Lawler show you how to bring peace to your home by integrating your family into the calm, truly joyful way of Mother Church. Her feasts and seasons, prayers and devotions are gifts that draw us closer to God and unfold before us His marvelous plan of salvation. To help you live the liturgical life of the Church more fully, David and Leila reclaim here an almost lost tradition that families used for centuries to build a beautiful bridge between home and church: the little oratory. Consisting of a modest table and icons, the little oratory is a visible sign of spiritual awareness and devotion. It extends the Eucharistic worship of the Mass into the heart of your home, spiritually nourishing your family and preparing them to transform the world through prayer and charity. Building your own little oratory is simple, and in these pages you'll discover just how easy it is. In fact, you likely have most of the pieces in your home already except, perhaps, the sacred art. That's why we've included here seven full-colored icons that are ready for framing, enabling you to get started right away! By following the wise advice in this book, you'll discover the peace and love that flows from a home that is focused on Christ. You'll also learn . . . How to use sacred art to strengthen your prayer life. How to extend Catholic beliefs and devotions into every room of the house. Why the Liturgy of the Hours is important and how it can make your family holy. How to pray the Rosary with children and keep the rowdiest of them calm and reverent. The active role children can and should play in the prayer life of the family. What to do when only one parent takes the spiritual life seriously. How to overcome the feeling that you're too busy to pray. Practical ways to extend the liturgical life into your workplace. And countless other tips to help you practice your faith in the heart of your home. Scott Hahn “This is one of the most beautiful books I've ever seen. How I wish I'd had it when I first became a Catholic, not just for myself, as a husband and father, but for my family, too. If one book has the potential to transform the Catholic family (and society), this is it.” Thomas Howard “This book is a rare treasure.” Christopher West “A superb guide to making that encounter of thirsts a lived experience in the home.” Daria Sockey, author of The Everyday Catholic’s Guide to the Liturgy of the Hours “The Little Oratory will help you discover a pattern of daily prayer that truly fits your family life while creating a place of beauty in the heart of your home." Building an Altar of Sacrifice by Francis Elijah Ndunagum Pdf

We all have dreams, talents, gifts and destinies to fulfill. Many times we live unfulfilled dreams because we have not yet ignited nor maintained the fire on our personal altar. Having repeatedly seen this sad occurrence, I was burdened to study the bible with a burning desire to find out why this happens even after the Lord may have given a sure word of prophecy to His children. I diligently read the bible to find out solutions which we can apply to our lives to curb the tendency where an alarmingly high number of people never get to fulfill their destinies. One of the biggest strategies the devil uses to destroy a believer’s life is to ensure the fire on their personal altar dies down. One needs to know that the sole purpose of building an altar of sacrifice in God’s kingdom is not to offer up animal sacrifice but rather to have a quiet place of one-to-one communication with God. It is here that a believer can ask forgiveness of sins, a factor which separates man from God and thereafter proceed to worship Him. Building an altar of sacrifice means you having a sacred or consecrated place of worship and adoration with God Almighty. It is sad to know some believers do not have a personal altar of sacrifice. On the other hand, quite a number of those who have do not take time to keep the fire burning on their altar. Every believer needs to have their private altar of sacrifice and ensure that it is kept burning day and night throughout their lifetime. The specified and acceptable sacrifice to be offered in your altar to God is the sacrifice of a burnt-offering of ADORATION and INCENSE of PRAISE. As the altar of incense burns every morning and evening, so is God expecting your prayers and praises to be raised every time from your altar. If the fire in your altar of sacrifice goes off, your altar becomes dormant and falls into ruins rendering your guiding angel ineffective while at the same time, giving the Devil the opportunity to mess up your life. It is obvious we do ourselves harm if we do not tend daily to our altars to keep the fire burning.

Rebuilding the Altar by Pat Schatzline,Karen Schatzline Pdf

The Holy Spirit has become a stranger. Many long for a closer walk with God, but He seems far away. They go to church. They read the Bible. But they don’t experience His presence. Why? Because many have forsaken the altar—the place where God is found. When we truly encounter Him again, the light and power of God will flow to our homes, then to our houses of worship, then to the nation, and we will never be the same. In Rebuilding the Altar authors Pat and Karen Schatzline passionately challenge you to return to the altar. You see, the altar is not just a physical location or an instrument in a church or synagogue. Through Christ we can experience a daily encounter with Jesus, who became our altar. We must declare this truth to the deceived. We must raise a standard of holiness and no compromise. We must bring hope to the hurting. It’s time for change. It’s time to return to the altar...and encounter God.

The Juvenilization of American Christianity by Thomas Bergler Pdf

Pop worship music. Falling in love with Jesus. Mission trips. Wearing jeans and T-shirts to church. Spiritual searching and church hopping. Faith-based political activism. Seeker-sensitive outreach. These now-commonplace elements of American church life all began as innovative ways to reach young people, yet they have gradually become accepted as important parts of a spiritual ideal for all ages. What on earth has happened? In The Juvenilization of American Christianity Thomas Bergler traces the way in which, over seventy-five years, youth ministries have breathed new vitality into four major American church traditions -- African American, Evangelical, Mainline Protestant, and Roman Catholic. Bergler shows too how this "juvenilization" of churches has led to widespread spiritual immaturity, consumerism, and self-centeredness, popularizing a feel-good faith with neither intergenerational community nor theological literacy. Bergler s critique further offers constructive suggestions for taming juvenilization. Watch the trailer:
