Ear Training for Children and Others Young at Heart by Bruce Arnold,Muse Eek Publishing Company Pdf

This edition does not contain the MP3s which will have to be purchased separately for $14.99 at: http://muse-eek.com/children-ear-training-go-tell-aunt-rhody/ Ear Training for Children and Others Young at Heart teaches a young child or anyone struggling with ear training how to identify pitches when they are sung or played. The process used in this book and audio recordings is simple, fun and educational. It uses the traditional song "Go Tell Aunt Rhody" to teach both singing and listening skills. Along with teaching ear training, these recordings will teach children to work with numbers, letters and solfège, as they sing along and are tested within the structure of this very simple song. Although the series was initially conceived for children, the skills attained from working along can be just as beneficial for an adult with ear training issues. The PDF will provide many ideas on how to apply these audio files to the education of your child or yourself. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 12.1px; font: 11.5px Times; color: #2d2829}

Computer-aided Ear-training by Susanna Király Pdf

My doctoral thesis has involved two related tasks. The first was to analyse Zoltán Kodály’s philosophy of music education and, on this basis, to develop a computer-assisted instruction method (CAI) for teaching music theory and solfège (ear-training). The second task was to experiment with the effectiveness of this method and compare it with traditional approaches to teaching. Many student find music theory and ear training difficult. During the 1990s, in connection with my licentiate thesis “Solfège in the Computer Classroom” (2000), I initiated this research project, and developed a CAI method for teaching music theory and solfège. I wanted to see just how useful Kodály’s approach could be in computer-aided teaching and learning. The results show that the Kodály approach can be successfully applied to the development of a computer-aided solfège programme and the Kodály system is applicable to new learning environments and teaching practices. In music education CAI is an area with great potential for development. It offers multiple learning options and can enhance students’ motivation to study music theory and ear-training; some of the learning outcomes were even better than with the traditional ways of learning. The results also show, however, that the teacher-pupil interaction is essential in a computer-aided learning programme.

An Index to Articles Published in The Etude Magazine, 1883-1957, Part 2 by Pamela Richardson Dennis Pdf

Annotation: The Index is published in two physical volumes and sold as a set for $250.00. As America's geography and societal demands expanded, the topics in The Etude magazine (first published in 1883) took on such important issues as women in music; immigration; transportation; Native American and African American composers and their music; World War I and II; public schools; new technologies (sound recordings, radio, and television); and modern music (jazz, gospel, blues, early 20th century composers) in addition to regular book reviews, teaching advice, interviews, biographies, and advertisements. Though a valued source particularly for private music teachers, with the de-emphasis on the professional elite and the decline in salon music, the magazine ceased publication in 1957. This Index to the articles in The Etude serves as a companion to E. Douglas Bomberger's 2004 publication on the music in The Etude. Published a little over fifty years after the final issue reached the public, this Index chronicles vocal and instrumental technique, composer biographies, position openings, department store orchestras, the design of a successful music studio, how to play an accordion, recital programs in music schools, and much more. The Index is a valuable tool for research, particularly in the music culture of American in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. With titles of these articles available, the doors are now open for further research in the years to come.

Ear Training and Violin Playing by Bruno Steinschaden,Helmut Zehetmair Pdf

Ear Training and Violin Playing was written by two Austrian teachers who pioneered the Suzuki approach in the German-speaking world. This valuable little book was written as a supplementary "aid" to the Suzuki teacher, concentrating on posture, bow grip, instrument selection, the bow itself and a helpful analysis of Book One of the Suzuki Violin School. Many insights are offered throughout the book, all gained from intense study, ten years of experience and successful teaching. Some slight departures from Suzuki's own teaching are discussed: the incorporation of native songs, elementary music theory and ear training, and introduction of ensemble playing. Early childhood musical education, it is emphasized, must always be accomplished with love and understanding, and only when parents, students, and teachers form a unified whole.

Why is My Child in Charge? is like having a child development specialist in your home. It shows how parents can develop proven, practical strategies that translate into adaptable, happy kids and calm, connected, in-control parents.

Encyclopedia of Early Childhood Education by Doris Pronin Fromberg,Leslie R Williams Pdf

This Encyclopedia is a reference work about young children in the USA, designed for use by policy makers, community planners, parents of young children, teacher and early childhood educators, programme and school administrators, among others. The field of early childhood education has been affected by changes taking place in the nation’s economy, demographics, schools, communities and families that influence political and professional decisions. These diverse historical, political economic, socio-cultural, intellectual and educational influences on early childhood education have hindered the development of a clear definition of the field. The Encyclopedia provides an opportunity to define the field against the background of these influences and relates the field of early childhood education to its diverse contexts and to the cultural and technological resources currently affecting it.
