Performing Consumers by Maurya Wickstrom Pdf

Performing Consumers is an exploration of the way in which brands insinuate themselves into the lives of ordinary people who encounter them at branded superstores. Looking at our performative desire to 'try on' otherness, Maurya Wickstrom employs five American brandscapes to serve as case studies: Ralph Lauren; Niketown; American Girl Place; Disney store and The Lion King; and The Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. In this post-product era, each builds for the performer/consumer an intensely pleasurable, somatic experience of merging into the brand and reappearing as the brand, or the brand's fictional meanings. To understand this embodiment as the way that capital is producing subjectivity as an aspect of itself, Wickstrom casts a wide net, drawing on: the history of capital's relationship with theatre political developments in the United States recent work in political science, philosophy, and performance studies. An adventurous study of theatrical indeterminancy and material culture, Performing Consumers brilliantly takes corporate culture to task.

Global Secularisms in a Post-Secular Age by Michael Rectenwald,Rochelle Almeida,George Levine Pdf

Global Secularisms addresses the state of and prospects for secularism globally. Drawing from multiple fields, it brings together theoretical discussion and empirical case studies that illustrate "on-the-ground," extant secularisms as they interact with various religious, political, social, and economic contexts. Its point of departure is the fact that secularism is plural and that various secularisms have developed in various contexts and from various traditions around the world. Secularism takes on different social meanings and political valences wherever it is expressed. The essays collected here provide numerous points of contact between empirical case studies and theoretical reflection. This multiplicity informs and challenges the conceptual theorization of secularism as a universal doctrine. Analyses of different regions enrich our understanding of the meanings of secularism, providing comparative range to our notions of secularity. Theoretical treatments help to inform our understanding of secularism in context, enabling readers to discern what is at stake in the various regional expressions of secularity globally. While the bulk of the essays are case-based research, the current thinking of leading theorists and scholars is also included.

To Study the Impact of Supplier Integration on Customers Satisfaction by Mohammad Asim,Arslan Mehmood Pdf

Master's Thesis from the year 2019 in the subject Business economics - Trade and Distribution, , course: S.C.M, language: English, abstract: This work focuses on the impact of supplier integration on customers satisfaction. Supply chain processes and their integration is a subject that has recently been studied a lot in terms of figuring out how these processes effect the organization in the long run. The usages of proper supply chain processes have shown a great deal of effect on the organizations production. In this research I have chosen to focus on how supplier integration in the supply chain processes of an organization can affect the organization performance in terms of consumer’s integration. It has been seen through the study of previous literature from the studies conducted on similar topics that an organization‘s performance has a huge impact on the firm’s consumer performance. Consumer performance is measured by how many consumers are interested in purchasing from the organization and whether consumers are satisfied with their purchases from the organization. In terms of supplier integration it has been seen from previous researches that by allowing a supplier to take over the production or a apart of the production of the organization the organization is free to now look into other aspects of the firm thus adding more value to the organization by increasing not only its production but also its performance. For this research a quantitative approach has been taken in order to justify the findings in proper quantifiable terms. This methodology allows us to look into how many people believe the stance that we are taking for our research and how many chose to take a different route. This can also help us in testing our hypothesis as to whether or not our chosen variables actually work well with one another or whether they don’t. Looking at the results that were collected through the usage of SPSS it has been proven that our independent variables (supplier integration and consumer performance) do have an impact on one another as well as a significant impact on our dependent variable (firm’s performance).

How Behavioral Time Method Explains And Predicts by Johnny Ch Lok Pdf

I assume that online shopping consumers won't like to stay to view on any webpage long time. It is possible that they choose to click more web pages to hope to find more different familiar and unfamiliar both brands of products informations in order to make more accurate comparison and evaluation from more different kinds of brands of products in order to make the most accurate online shopping decision. Hence, any brands of products online webpage information will be one time pressure limited sale environment to consumers feel that they need to make the most accurate online purchase decision in short time. Moreover, it seems that if the brand of products which can be showed on the popular product webpage, the it will have much sale chance to let online purchasers familiarize in order to increase sale opportunity more easily. Finally, I shall explain what is the meaning of external time pressure consumption environment is the long time queue waiting consumption environment. I shall explain how to achieve one simplistic queueing system to solve long time queue waiting problem to bring consumers' negative emotion influence to choose to consume the service or buy the product in preference. For entertainment service example, e.g. queueing at the cinema counter to buy one ticket to watch the movie, or queueing at the music hall to buy one ticket to listen the music performance show activities. The audiences' ticket purchase aims to sit down in the cinema or music hall to enjoy to listen and see pretty music performance or watch the attractive movie comfortable within one to two hours entertainment time. If the movie or music performance show is attractive, the cinema or music hall will have many audiences accept to spend long time to queue to buy the ticket. However, if the cinema ot music hall needs audience consumers to queue long time to buy the ticket, e.g. one houe, even more than one houe queueing time to wait to buy the ticket to watch the movie or listen the music performance show. Then, the long time queue waiting problem will be possible to cause a lot audiences number to be reduced, because they feel that they need to spend much time pressure to queue to by the ticket to listen the music performance show or watch the movie. However, of these unacceptable too long queue time audiences can have another/ other cinema(s), music hall(s) to buy the same price, even more low price of movie ticket or music performance show ticket in short time. Then, they must leave the present cinema queue and go to the another cinema or music hall to buy ticket to watch the same movie or listen the same music performance show. So, long time queue is one external time pressure environment to influence consumer's preference choice to the service provider, when they feel it has another service provider does not need them or these audiences need to spend same long time queue time to wait to buy the ticket in order to enjoy the service, e.g. listening music performance show, watching movie.Hence, in a high time pressure queue situation where decision makers, e.g. audiences have less time than needed ( or perceived needed).

Consumer Participation in Infrastructure Regulation by Elisa Muzzini Pdf

'Consumer Participation in Infrastructure Regulation' draws on results of a survey questionnaire conducted among 45 infrastructure regulators in the East Asia and Pacific (EAP) region. It finds that EAP regulators have successfully begun to involve consumers in the regulatory process: consumer representation is a well-established practice in the region; and regulators draw on standard mechanisms to inform consumers, resolve consumer complaints, and solicit consumer input. However, regulators must take further actions to firmly move up the ladder of consumer engagement, from merely providing information to actively consulting with consumers. In particular, consumer participation would benefit from more open disclosure policies, more effective strategies to reach out to the poor, and tighter regulatory intervention to hold service providers accountable for resolving consumer complaints.
