"In America alone, asthma causes 4,000 deaths per year" (American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology) Environmental pollution and too much exposure to harmful chemicals have significantly increased the susceptibility of people getting asthma. The death toll is expected rise even further. The cost of treatment of asthma is increasing. Accept it- No one likes going to a doctor. A single visit to a doctor costs too much. "Americans spend, through direct and indirect expenses, a total of $19.7 million each year for the treatment of asthma" (American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology) This book focuses on describing all the possible natural treatments of asthma. You don't have to go to great lengths to cure asthma. Sometimes, simple things in your cupboard or refrigerator can serve as homemade remedies for asthma. Another natural way is to treat asthma with herbs. Herbs are being used for the treatment of several ailments for thousands of years. But, it's an astounding fact that people consider them unsafe and difficult to use. Several experimentations have proved that herbs can cure several health conditions with virtually zero side effects. A simple change in life style can also help in curing asthma. Asthmatic attacks, in some cases, are triggered by eating certain food substances. So, having knowledge of what to eat and what to skip can actually decrease the frequency of asthmatic attacks. Section one - Asthma - an overview Asthma - What is Asthma? Asthma is a common health condition related to an immune reaction taking place in the respiratory track. It's a breathing disorder characterized by several symptoms like air way obstruction, difficulty in breathing, tightness of chest, coughing and wheezing. For most of the people asthma is not a big problem. But, in reality it can cause serious hindrance in performing routine activities. If it goes untreated, it can produce serious and life threatening conditions. Asthma is an immune reaction triggered when the respiratory track is exposed to certain irritating stimuli. Human body has got a strong immune system which protects it from the harmful effects of foreign substances like chemicals, pollutants and organisms like bacteria and viruses. An important component of this immune system is "mast cells". These cells respond to the presence of certain "antigens" and release several mediators of inflammation, in the presence of these antigens. For example, if these cells are exposed to the smoke of cigarette, they'll release several chemicals which, in turn, will start a cascade of events leading to the development of symptoms of inflammation. These mediators cause spasm in the muscles of respiratory track, increase the production of mucus and make the respiration difficult. Asthma is a combination of several environmental and genetic factors.

Asthma Relief Forever by Bennett Osle Pdf

If you've ever had an asthma attack, you know they can be terrifying experiences. Your chest may tighten, you may struggle to breathe, and you may become anxious and begin to hyperventilate. Even if you don't have severe asthma that leads to asthma attacks, the symptoms of mild asthma are inconvenient and annoying. With persistent asthma, you may experience occasional shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing or wheezing. This book focuses on resolving the causes of asthma so the body can heal itself. The study explained in this book was followed by 85 asthma patients. 80 patients experienced a complete remission 3 patients a 50% improvement. Only 2 patients did not experience any improvement. These results are well above any placebo effect, prescribed medication, or medical treatment, as there is no complete remission with medication, just symptom management.

Table of ContentsIntroductionMain Visible Symptoms of AsthmaThe Immunotherapy ScamSome Helpful TipsConclusionTry Alternative Medicine RemediesAuthor BioPublisherIntroductionA couple of months ago I wrote a book about how to cure asthma naturally and I decided to extend that knowledge again, in another book, because of the number of asthma cases increasing day by day.Believe it or not, the percentage of asthma patients, and people suffering from chest infections and problems have gone up by 3% in the past 5 years, and this situation is going to worsen, due to their lifestyles, and the environments in which they live.Once upon a time, a person suffering from asthma said, thank God it is winter, and I do not have to worry an asthma attack, brought about through dust and allergy and pollen grains. That is not the case now. You may find yourself coming down with an asthmatic attack, in any season, anywhere in the world, thanks to the pollution in the air and water, through emissions from industries, vehicles and other natural and human made sources.Coupled with the greenhouse effect, which prevents this particular ever-growing and unprecedented sheer volume and mass of pollution from disappearing up into space, far away from our nose and lungs, is it a surprise that people who did not know about asthma 30 years ago suddenly find themselves whooping and wheezing for air, because their air passages have been blocked?Once upon a time, wintertime was very pleasant, because of the fresh air, but alas, now the cold prevents the process of dispersal of all those particles of toxic dust, hanging in a black gloomy pall of pollution, over our heads and over our cities. And once when we breathed fresh crisp winter air, today, just take in a deep breath, and what enters your lungs? Chemical toxins and dust and other such undesirable things, of which human beings had not thought half a century ago.Forget about the poor asthmatics. Just think about what the effect it can have on a healthy human being with a hitherto healthy chest and lungs system.Asthma is a more common condition than you would believe. This condition affects the lungs, and makes breathing difficult. For people who have never come across such an ailment before, it can be very terrifying, especially when they feel totally helpless when confronted with an asthma patient for the first time.

Severe Asthma by Kian Fan Chung,Elliot Israel,Peter G. Gibson Pdf

Severe asthma is a form of asthma that responds poorly to currently available medication, and its patients represent those with greatest unmet needs. In the last 10 years, substantial progress has been made in terms of understanding some of the mechanisms that drive severe asthma; there have also been concomitant advances in the recognition of specific molecular phenotypes. This ERS Monograph covers all aspects of severe asthma – epidemiology, diagnosis, mechanisms, treatment and management – but has a particular focus on recent understanding of mechanistic heterogeneity based on an analytic approach using various ‘omics platforms applied to clinically well-defined asthma cohorts. How these advances have led to improved management targets is also emphasised. This book brings together the clinical and scientific expertise of those from around the world who are collaborating to solve the problem of severe asthma.

Asthma: Pathophysiology, Herbal and Modern Therapeutic Interventions by Sheikh Rayees,Inshah Din Pdf

Asthma is a chronic airway disease affecting over 300 million people worldwide with an expected increase of an additional 100 million by 2025. Past decade has observed a notable increase in asthma prevalence on both national and global levels with highest rates observed in western countries (about 30%). Over the past 40 years, a drastic increase in global prevalence, morbidity, mortality, and economic burden have been observed due to asthma especially in children. The rising numbers of hospital admissions for asthma, especially young children, reflect an increase in severe asthma, poverty and lack of proper disease management. Worldwide, approximately 180,000 deaths annually are caused due to this condition. The financial burden on a single asthma patient per year in different western countries ranges from US$300–1,300. Asthma is an intricate respiratory disorder with differences in its severity, natural history and hence treatment response. These differences in intensities of various presentations such as bronchial hyper-responsiveness, airway inflammation, mucus production, airflow obstruction make asthma a heterogeneous disease. The mainstay of current therapies for asthma includes inhaled corticosteroids, phosphodiesterase inhibitors, leukotriene modifiers and β2-adrenoceptor agonists. Some of the currently available drugs are efficient in one or more aspects. However the associated side effects or heterogeneity of the disease limit their usefulness and efficacy, thereby putting a demand on development of new drugs and therapies. On the other hand, asthma has also been treated/managed via herbal medications. These approaches have been described in Unani, Ayurvedic or Chinese system of medicine since antiquity. In fact, several anti-asthmatic drugs were developed from herbs commonly utilized in the non-Western system of medicine. This book focuses on the pathophysiology of asthma, its medication (both herbal and modern), limitations and their future prospects.
