Export Product Quality, Renewable Energy, and Sustainable Production by Umer Shahzad,Gagan Deep Sharma,Lianbiao Cui,John Mendy Pdf

Economic development has long been acknowledged for its beneficial effects on human well-being. In the context of economic globalization and vertical specialization, increasing the quality of export products is more critical and necessary to export success and sustainable development. The product's quality is inextricably linked to its manufacture and production, which need various types of energy and raw materials. Meanwhile, the adoption of more environmentally friendly and cleaner energy sources contributes to the achievement of sustainable production. Therefore, product quality may provide a new perspective from which to investigate the systematic relationship between greener and renewable energy sources, sustainable production and environmental regulations, as well as the nature of export competitiveness. Generally, export product quality has referred to the quality of manufactured products within the product lines. Quality refers to the relative price of a country's varieties within their respective product lines. Product sophistication assesses the composition of the aggregate exports. Different varieties of same product as per quality level are being produced by several developing and emerging economies. Within any given product line, quality converges both conditionally and unconditionally to the world's benchmark; increases in institutional quality and human capital are associated with faster quality upgrading. In turn, faster growth in quality is associated with more rapid output growth.

The book’s primary intention is to serve as a roadmap for professionals working in developing countries interested in the Nexus Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) approach. The book shows a multi-disciplinary approach, showcasing the importance of the proper use of Nexus WEFE when implementing certain development programs in regions around the globe. It can be presented as a manual for an individual that either wishes to implement intervention projects following the NEXUS approach or students interested in cooperation and development. The book begins with a general explanation of the theoretical concepts and implementation processes of Nexus WEFE and continues getting into case studies, explaining the importance of proper implementation and potential drawbacks and solutions to them. This book has a particular focus on the European Union cooperation policies when implementing such an approach in developing countries.

Food Science by Norman N. Potter Pdf

Almost two decades have passed since the first edition of Food Science was published in 1968. Previous editions have been widely circulated in the United States and abroad and have been accepted as a textbook in many colleges and universities. The book also has been translated into Japanese and Spanish. This response has encouraged me to adhere to prior objectives in preparing this fourth edition. The book continues to be aimed primarily at those with no previous instruction in food sci ence. Its purpose is to introduce and to survey the complex and fasci nating interrelationships between the properties of food materials and the changing methods of handling and manufacturing them into an al most unlimited number of useful products. The book especially ad dresses the needs for insight and appreciation of the broad scope of food science by students considering this field as a profession, as well as those by professionals in allied fields that service or interface with the food industry in ever-increasing ways. The literature of food science and food technology has rapidly ma tured from earlier articles to books to encyclopedias. Where technolog ical capabilities once were limited, rapid advances in many fields contin ually raise questions on the responsible management of technology and its environmental, social, and economic consequences. Changes in em phasis have been many. Affluent countries have become more con cerned with the health effects of nutrient excesses than with deficien cies, while hungry nations continue to suffer shortages.

From Thinking Young to Feeling Young by Elena Kapelonis,Paul T. Burke Pdf

Steve Kapelonis and his wife, Elena founded New York City's original physical fitness restaurant, The Pump Energy Food, in 1997, which became known for its high-profile and celebrity clientele. YES, the food was amazing! But it wasn't just the food that inspired many of The Pump's customers to eat there daily, sometimes two or three times a day; it was also the ENERGY.Here is that same energy in a book. "Running restaurants was like 'on-the-job training' for me on how to feel good in the moment and help other people feel great. I had to learn how to be a coach," says Steve. "Why? Because people work better when they feel good, and because people love their food more when they're happy."FROM THINKING YOUNG TO FEELING YOUNG takes you on Steve's personal search for how to feel younger. It satisfies your appetite with the FUNdamentals of how to enjoy life. Then, it hits the spot with fifty-one cartoons that can pick you up, one part of your day at a time. This book is like a collection of the things people tell you sometimes, the things that happen to stay with you, the things that when you think about them once in a while, they just make you feel better.

Water-Energy-Food Nexus by P. Abdul Salam,Sangam Shrestha,Vishnu Prasad Pandey,Anil Kumar Anal Pdf

Water, energy and food are key resources to sustain life, and are the fundamental to national, regional and global economies. These three resources are interlinked in multiple ways, and the term “nexus” captures the interconnections. The nexus has been discussed, debated, researched, and advocated widely but the focus is often on the pairings of “water-energy” or “water-food” or “energy-food”. To really benefit from the nexus approach in terms of resource use efficiency it is essential to understand, operationalize and practice the nexus of all three resources. As demand for these resources increases worldwide, using them sustainability is a critical concern for scientists and citizens, governments and policy makers. Volume highlights include: Contributions to the global debate on water-energy-food nexus Examples of the nexus approach in practice from different regions of the world Perspectives on the future of the nexus agenda Water-Energy-Food Nexus: Theories and Practices is a valuable resource for students, research scholars and professionals in academic institutions with strong interests in interdisciplinary research involving geography, earth science, environmental science, environmental management, sustainability science, international development, and ecological economics. The volume will also be useful for professionals, practitioners and consultants in /NGOs, government, and international agencies.
